Shine a darklight on the dining room and gloomy bedrooms to check for any watery footprints
You shine a darklight on the Dining Room floor to further examine it. You note there's a single trail of footprints heading from the Dining Room to its east exit. Similarly with the Gloomy Bedroom dorm, you note there's a bit of water here pooling by the north door. A trail of footprints leads to your own bedroom.

Grrrrrr... listen, I ain't got a lotta time or patience right now. Youse wanna know what happened last night? I'll give ya a quick rundown, but make sure youse listen good, cause I ain't gonna go over it twice.

I started out my night headin' over to the Studio, spottin' Ghouligrab headin' into the Foyer. Since we're in this game for the long haul, I figure I gotta make sure I'm well accounted for, and leave some definitive proof that I met them, for makin' timelines and catchin' out people who don't wanna own up to seein' me. I picked me a nice red paint, then went on my way out to the Forest Grounds. Had me a little chit-chat with that Vigil guy, only for Jackson to interrupt us to talk with him "privately". I squirted some paint onto the funny man, and all of a sudden he wasn't laughin' anymore. Looks like he can't take a joke after all. Anyway, I spent a little bit of time in the Graveyard and the Mausoleum doin' some detective work, while Vigil and Jackson got Mona and Thanos ready for burial.

atmey-smug.png

A real shame what happened to that girl... but that big chinned looney got what was comin' to him. In fact, I figure he got off too easy. That guy took away someone that we probably liked or somethin', so it's only fair that I take away somethin' from him. So I decided to take justice into my own hands. I went over to the Garage, spottin' Winter runnin' around the Forest Grounds, lookin' like he was on the hunt. And then... I got to work.

Yeah, so I just went over to that freak's fancy car and smashed the windows and then poured a bunch of motor oil all over it. Then I took off the parking brake, and pushed the car out. While I was doin' that, Reigen passed by out to the Forest Grounds and Winter came back inside, but I didn't get a chance to splatter either of 'em. But one guy I did manage to paint was Ghouligrab, who was lookin' for some weldin' stuff, which I quickly borrowed to set alight the trail of oil I had which led up to the car. Boom! Well, to be real, it wasn't as good as I wanted, with most of the inside still bein' ok, but the engine blew up, so good enough. I hope Chin Man is weepin' in the afterlife.

atmey-normal.png

Once I finished up with that job, I went upstairs through the elevator shaft, spottin' Lyra headin' towards the Cargo Lift from the southeast hallway. With justice served, I could spend some time doin' what I always do: solvin' mysteries. And there was a big one on my mind from yesterday: the magic painting.
That Lupin guy had a paintin' with him, and then after the kitchen blew up, it was still intact. So, I figured I see if there were any other ones in the West Gallery. Of course, it'd be a pain to try and check 'em one by one, so I just piled 'em all up and made a bonfire. As it turned out, Lupin was here as well, lookin' all sad. He offered to help me, but then kind of just stood there watchin' me. Chin up, pal. Now that there's a lot less paintings, your one is probably worth a lot more money now. Cost and demand, and all that jazz.

Once I was done with that, I went into the Library to do some readin' about the paranormal. Since my attack on King Boo failed yesterday, it's back to square one, so I figured I could do some readin', see what I can find. Lupin followed me in, but then just passed out in one of the chairs. While I was in here, the victims passed through with some pumpkins and gourds.

As I was leavin', I saw Albina enterin' from the Kiln Room, and then headed downstairs to the basement. It was a bit eerie down there. No one around, not even that Tanner guy. I picked up a Darklight from the lab, and then headed over to the Smuggler's Hideout, only to find...
Some loser left a bucket of red paint above the door, and I got totally DRENCHED in it! You suck! And no, it ain't some karmic justice for me goin' around splatterin' people with red paint all night. Leavin' a paint trap doesn't leave any kind of paper trail, it just leaves a bunch of paint on me! If I find the guy that did this, he'll have a lot more than just paint to worry about! I had to head to the Hydro Generators to clean myself off, and it took me so long that Tanner finally ended up showin' back up again. Then I went back upstairs to the Old Bedrooms, and saw Coral Glasses arrivin' back... and I sprayed her with some red paint. Screw you, karma.

atmey-normal.png

While I was dousin' Coral, I also saw Albina passin' through to her room, and I went to bed not long after. While I was tryin' to sleep later on, I got woken up by a bunch of moanin' and puffin' noises. Wish those ghosts would keep it down out there.

What rooms have chisels like the one in the Space Exhibit?

If we have a list, would we be able to check the stock of each room?

Scusi, let us shine a Darklight on the Front Garden's Fountain, in general.

I also think... the water sprayed around it needs a critical eye, both with and without the light.

Go to the space exhibit, grab a random moon rock. Hold it in my hand, feel its weight. Toss it up and catch it a couple times.

Crush the rock into a fine powder in my hands and run it between my fingers. Feel the coarse surface of the individual grains.

Finally, glue the powder to a piece of paper and file it away with my documents.

You shine a Darklight on the Front Garden's fountain, which is looking worse for wear after tonight. The following message appears around the rim.
"THAT GILDED ITEM IS NOT MINE, RETURN IT TO THE WATER AT ONCE."
And below that, painted the ground in front but kind of smeared by the water:
"OLD CLOCKWORKS"

You flash the light a few times on the water splashes around the fountain, and it reacts as standard, non-magical water does. Seems most of it is concentrated towards the east side of the fountain.

The Maestro is a little busy at the moment, but he mentally reminds you that chisels can be found in roughly the same places as other woodworking tools, art supplies, and the like.

Look for missing chisels in the East Gallery, Kiln Room and Workshop.

Compare the pie on the Dining Room table to the ones in the Kitchen. What type of pies are they?

Are there any drag marks in the Aviation Exhibit caused by the body/assorted detritus when it was brought in by the vacuum function?

Are any of the mushrooms found with the body in the soup or pies? Do they match any found in the Greenhouse or Plant Nursery?

I don't think we've actually done a general check of the Space Exhibit or the stairs between it and the Aviation Exhibit yet, aside from the fact that they're wet, can we do that? Particularly any signs of scuffs from the body moving.

How is the knife placed in the Kitchen sink? Are there any marks to suggest it was thrown?
(I am willing to cooperate with any experiments on splash sounds by comparing it from the Smokehouse)

Can we follow the darklight footprint trail any further from the Dining Room exit? Are there any wet footprint trails leading outside from the Aviation Exhibit?

Time for Lupin's night report. Lupin's night report, brought to you by... Lupin.

1783965996369.png

I was too down in the dumps to do anything! Call it an excuse if you want, but can you excuse this bleeding heart? All I did was sit around in the common area and watched people leave their rooms. The dragon tried to break my spine in half yet again, but he relented shortly after. Last night's victim was the next one to exit, followed by Muscles over there (Lash), and Lulu? I think was their name?

I thought I'd peruse the wonderful works of art for awhile to take my mind off things, and had a milquetoast conversation with Mr. Atmey... then I followed him to the Library where I fell asleep reading literature of middling taste. I woke up some time later to return to my bedroom, whereupon I heard an unsettling moaning and snorting from the East Hallway, before retiring to doze my troubles away.

lulu_08.png

I had an interesting night, especially in the later half, (His Highness has an... ahem, unique way of excavation...), but unfortunately, I'm not sure how helpful it will be for the case. I'll recount it anyway.

I woke up in my room, seemingly at the same time as The Lash, though he exited the room first, and head over to the Clocktower, and spend a decent time going up and down to examine its workings. I've found some interesting documents for later. I've also seen a menagerie of our cohorts pass through or nearby the three floors, the artist's apprentice (Albina), Ms Orpheus (Lyra), our temporary guest (Wii Fit Trainer), Ms Mona, Mr. Atmey, MCD, the gentleman thief (Lupin), And last, but certainly not least, our unfortunate victim. Unfortunately, I don't know if this is a complete list, and I certainly don't know when I saw them in relation to others, the workings of this tower were too exquisite, and I was a bit distracted

lulu_05.png

Ah, but I did see Boo1268 enter from the West entrance, go to the greenhouse, and leave with many pumpkins in his possession.

After my examination, I descended to the basement, and seem to be followed by Victor as I examine the Crypt and Tomb for any more clues. It was unsettling, and I would appreciate if you didn't do this again. Especially the attempt at tripping me, please and thank you.

I left for the maintenance hub to return something I got last night, and then went upstairs. I wanted to also investigate the fountain, but it seems like others had attempted some more destructive methods. There was a flame burning around the fountain, boiling the water, though the ice seemed unaffected. I also see The Groundskeeper (Vigil) and Mr. Ghouligrab conversing, the old turtle was wearing a welding mask and his shell covered in red paint. I decided I was done here and started heading east, though I heard thumping and a smash behind me as I was leaving.

lulu_07.png

This is where I met up with His Highness, Prince Winter, and The conma- I mean...Mr. Arataka, though the latter was wearing a diving suit. We had started the Process to excavate the lake, though I'm not certain how well I can really relay it, so I will move past it. Sometime in the middle, Mr. Orpheus arrived, and His Highness went to check on her, then she left for the Train Exhibit. In the distance, I also spotted someone lowering something large from the
Terminal. Mr. Vigil also passed by (I would like to apologize for the mess we caused,) and left quickly.

We explored the bunker when we descended, and found some interesting objects, one of which was a collection of blueprints for Gaddgets not chosen for the Grand Experiment, though other than that, I don't believe anything there will help with solving this murder, so I'll leave that for after the case. We left through a one-way door to the Hydro Generator, and as we left that, I spotted MCD leave the quarry pit. It was an exhausting night, so I bid farewell to the two and left to sleep in my bed.

If possible, and if the two who were with me are okay with it, I'd like to show off the Gaddget blueprints and notes, one of them might have been used in the murder, and I would like to verify.

For the purpose of Ratigan's experiment, get him to stand in the Smokehouse while I grab the butcher knife and toss it into the kitchen sink various times.

First, I will just drop it in. Then I will throw it hard from the far end of the Kitchen. Then I will attempt to lob it in a big arc. I'll guess I'll slam dunk it in there too. Ratigan should memcheck these against what he heard.

Do each of these attempts leave marks on the sink? Is there any damage in the sink?

Check the Crow's Nest, particularly for meat or anything out of place. If I find meat, check it closely.
You find traces of raw meat being gnawed in the crows nest. There's also a rope hanging here with meat juice and a bit of sinew on one end.

All these "???" rooms, talk about a lazy naming scheme. I remember... we had places like "Lab Zero" and the "Observation Room" to look forward to. "???" is giving me nothing. Kyeh, whatever.
Scour the Metal Workshop, strip it bare and look for signs of any secret passageways to the ??? Room.

Let's just get this out of the way already, does the Workshop lead there or not?
You find no immediately obvious trace of Scooby-Doo-esque secret passages in the Metal Lab.

If possible, and if the two who were with me are okay with it, I'd like to show off the Gaddget blueprints and notes, one of them might have been used in the murder, and I would like to verify.
You ask Winter to show these off, as they're currently on his person. He obliges.

The blueprints and notes are summarised as the following (there may be more details in the files which will be read in full later, so you just pull a summary. More specific questions can be asked)
- Code: ARMISTICE - Depicts a haunted coat that produces extra arms for use.
- Code: AURUMDESIRE - Depicts a golden alloy that can change shape within... some kind of parameter.
- Code: BELOWZERO - Depicts a strange wooden stick that can lower a user's body temperature beyond normal.
- Code: MYCELIUM - Depicts a mound of tended garden dirt producing wonderful mushrooms.
- Code: PRINCEOFBLUE - Depicts a compass and pen that can add new rooms to the mansion.
- Code: SURTRSTROMMING - Depicts a living sludge formed from compounded salted fish that grows exponentially large.
- Code: YOUREBALD - Depicts a harmless electric razor.

making a note to say that I'll stand in the space exhibit while fwd plays knife basketball

You play knifeketball, the game of basketball with a sharp twist, and Lyra consistently dunks the knife in the sink. She's got talent. She even lay-ups the knife from below for good measure.

The relevant people will receive results.

The investigative record shows her moves are "objectively sick".

Can I check what, if any, tools are missing from the garage currently?
Your result is inconclusive as the Garage has been ransacked pretty thoroughly. Lot of spaces have been touched, you would need to confirm specific kinds of tools, toolboxes, etc. You can at least confirm the car is missing, which counts as a tool, as well as two large cannisters of motor oil.

Can we tell if the knife in the sink is absolutely from the smokehouse?
The knife seems to match one of the other wall mounted ones in the Smokehouse pretty much exactly.

Look for missing chisels in the East Gallery, Kiln Room and Workshop.

You find no chisels in the East Gallery. The chisels in the Kiln Room and Workshop appear to come in sets. None are missing.

You sniff the pies with your rat nose. You believe all three of them, including the one splattered into the wall over the sink, to be standard pumpkin pies, but one smells a bit earthier than the others. You note it has something else protein-y mixed into it. You confirm the mushrooms match the chopped proteiny bits, and your examination in the Plant Nursery reveals a dug patch of dirt near the Jack-o-Lantern mushrooms, which glow in the dark when uncooked, and are poisonous famisciles of the commonly edible Chanterelle.

You cant really conclude if a body was thrown down the stairs here by visual examination. Any residual blood would likely have been washed off by the flooding. You cant seem to find any obvious drag marks for the same reason. You examine the space exhibit generally, and note the walls of the room up to about knee height are wet, compared to the walls in the kitchen being about ankle height, but the rest of the exhibits are seemingly untouched. There are small buttons embedded within stars that form constellations on the walls around the room.

One of the laws of stratigraphy (study of rock formations), the law of superposition, dictates that in any undisturbed sequence of rocks, the oldest layer is at the bottom and the youngest is at the top. You banish the geologist spirit talking over your shoulder, then note the knife in the sink is sitting on top of the other pots and pans.

You cannot follow the trail past the hallway. The dining room carpet appears to have soaked up most of the water.

Which pie has the mushrooms? Do the mushrooms by the body react with darklight?

I would like to get a laaaarge crate and one of those heavy duty cargo moving machines from the container yard. Fill that sucker up with water. Then dump it out in the space exhibit. Do the same with a somewhat smaller crate/barrel/bucket/washtub/idk in the kitchen.

Let people reference the sound that makes.

You play crate polo. the crate water polo game

The relevant people with information will judge your splash.

The Cliffside - is there a rope and water at the bottom?

Is the water similar to the Kitchen, Fountain, and Space Exhibit?
