One day when I was playing a hard Mario level, I wondered "Is this level really that hard to others?" So that's why I decided I wanted to see people's lists for the hardest levels in Mario games. It can be levels from one game, or levels from multiple games. Please specify what game you will be talking about. You can also say why you think that level is tough. Here's my list.
New Super Mario Bros. U
1.Pendulum Castle: When I first 100%ed this game, it took me MONTHS to beat this level (I had a real skill issue). This is mostly because I stopped playing for a couple of weeks, and then played for only like 3 days to try again. I had to do this crazy strategy JUST so I could get the second star coin. Although I usually can beat this level in 30 minutes now, I hate this level so much.
2.Fire Bar Cliffs: This level was tough. I remember only getting power-ups JUST so I could tank damage. This only took a couple of days to complete. But it still sucks.
3.Swim for your Life!: The star coins required a lot of getting the Cheep Chomp to hit the Urchins. Really tough. Surprisingly, this also took the same amount of time to beat as it took with Pendulum Castle. These Superstar Road levels are so hard!
4.Flight of the Para-Beetles: The autoscrolling chaos and the King Bills really make it hard. And the third star coin is unnecessarily hard because you have to line up the Para-Beetles JUST RIGHT so you can fit through the pipe.
5.Shifting-Floor Cave: The final star coin on this one is just plain stupid. I had to use a P-Acorn because I couldn't manage to use the shell.
6.Ludwig's Clockwork Castle: The Sumo Bros. and the Fire Bros. REALLY make the level harder, especially when a Sumo Bros stuns you. It feels like it stuns you for extra long sometimes when you're about to get crushed.
7.Slide Lift Tower: The first star coin is REALLY HARD because if you're Small Mario, or you couldn't reach the star coin, you're pretty much screwed.
8.Follow that Shell!: I would consider this level tricky instead of hard. The second star coin kind of decides if you get the third one or not.
9.Thrilling Spine Coaster: The third star coin requires you to get a super star, run across the Munchers before it runs out, and run out before the star timer runs out.
10.Snake Block Tower: This is kind of a practice level for Pendulum Castle, except with Amps. It's hard to navigate, but at least the star coins are relatively easy.
I'd love to see your list, thank you!
