Discuss the "Mii" games here

Just a general place to discuss games starring Mii characters (ex. Wii Sports, Miitopia, Nintendo Land, etc.). I have a special place in my heart for the Mii games especially since Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort was the very first video game I ever played, and I've also in recent years played the demo for Miitopia on Nintendo Switch along with Wii Sports' successor, Nintendo Switch Sports. Other Mii games I don't own or have ever played but I have seen online include Wii Music, Wii Party, and Nintendo Land, just to name a few.

So, pretty much, just discussing the Mii games, the aspects you do like, the aspects you don't like, what you would like to see in the future, stuff like that.

The strength of the Mii as an avatar system is that the face parts are very well balanced between being symbolic enough that they each one can represent a broad archetype, while being specific enough, that most people can find options that they can attach to themselves, even if some options like coloration and hairstyles felt a bit limited compared to the range you'd see in real life, especially before the maker was updated for alter consoles. It's also has a few cartoony options that are fun to make characters with. I remember the cast of random and often somewhat strange looking characters I made that shared the Mii plaza with my family's Miis. There are pros and cons with how minimalist the Miis are as an avatar system, but I still appreciate what we've got in this timeline overall.

I certainly agree. I've made not just Miis of irl people but I've also made them of characters out of my own imagination, already existing characters from different franchises, and even just some silly Miis using random parts. The simplicity of the Mii system is truly there as you said.

I actually main a sportsmate in Switch Sports because I think it looks closer to me irl. Also I didn't know that they weren't initially available at launch. Was it after a system update that made them available?

I don't know if Nintendo Switch Sports is done receiving DLC sports, but if it's not, I would like to see the return of Power Cruising, Cycling, Baseball, and some sort of mode similar to Island Flyover (just maybe not the island since it's not Wii Sports Resort).

Fun fact, this thought process is what led me to make 111 Miis to mod into Wii Sports Club and Miitopia in place of the official Nintendo made CPUs. I started by making a full Mii out of a Deadly Demon from Miitopia and liked how it turned out, so then I made a Mii completely on my own in an attempt to emulate Nintendo's style. That project was actually really fun and I released the Wii Sports Club mod I made with all of them. Might release the Miitopia 3DS mod at some point too.

I've gotten creative with them too. I made Miis of both Luigi and Princess Daisy.

I made Miis of Avatar the Last Airbender characters, and Percy Jackson characters as a kid! Miis are so fun to mess around with, it's easy to make so many different characters.

I'm sad they're not as front and center with the Switch, as they used to be with the Wii :(

It's weird that Wii Play is so wildly different in Japan than in Western regions. I mean, if I'm being honest, I like the Western versions better for the cover art and stuff.
