That's sure a good idea, not sure how Miyamoto sees this.

Miyamoto would be a fucking idiot to not approve of this. Mario is a perfect fit for musou games, they're very easy to pick up and play, especially compared to other action hack and slash games, very similar to Mario's core gameplay principle, and they are at their funnest with a large and varied character roster.

Hell, the games themselves love to eschew continuity and canon just for the sake of it. Orochi games are literally just "what if every historical figure in Three Kingdoms China and Sengoku Japan got together and just kicked the asses of a bunch of demons".
