Why Buzzy Beetles don't appear in 3D games

Sup guys
So if you know me, you'd know I really love Buzzy Beetles, It's literally in my name.
But one thing that always made me sad was knowing Buzzy beetles aren't in 3D games I had this mindset until now, I have possibly figured out why Buzzy beetles don't appear in 3D Mario games.

Buzzy beetles have the same shell mechanic as other shelled enemies. When stomped on they can be lifted up and tossed to knock out a row of enemies. The shells can also be used to float on lava as well as allow them to drop from ceilings to surprise attack Mario. Shell mechanics are easy to do in 2D games, this the heavy amount of shelled enemies like Armads and Rolla Koopas

But in 3D games it's a different subject. Nintendo practically struggles to do shell mechanics right. It took until 3D world and 3D land to do it right and it only worked because those games are linear. Mario 64 shells are vehicles, Mario Sunshine shells are electric so you can't even stomp on them, and Mario Galaxy shells don't even act like shells they act like missiles. They couldn't even bother adding the shells to Odyssey because it would've been hard. That's why enemies like Spinies, Hammer Bros, Lakitus, and more are able to make it into 3D games compared kickable shell enemies. Buzzy beetles would've been such a hassle to make, especially with the shells so the opted for Replacements

Goombeetles are simply just Goomba Buzzy Beetles that are strong because of their shell, and since Goombas can spin in that game, they simply made it only defeatable by spins.

They walk on Floor, Walls, and ceilings in a reptative circle while being immune to fire balls and for Mario Maker, Flying like Para Beetles.

That's just something I noticed though

I agree that shell mechanics are a likely issue, but even Buzzy Beetle's other properties just don't line up for 3D games. Enemies can't really be lying in wait on ceilings except for obvious setpiece stuff, unless either there are low ceilings or the developers want to train players to look upward instead of forward.

Exactly. If your like me who wants to count these two as variants that's fine
Since their whole purpose is to try and insert an enemy that wouldn't fit in the game without anybody knowing

I think it's because Nintendo doesn't want us to be happy personally

Well their shtick is that they are like koopas but immune to fireballs. Since Fire Mario is not as prevalent in the 3D games that would make it mostly redundant.
