The Yoshi Theory

Koopa Troopa
So I finally 100% Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and was scrolling through the Mario wiki to see if I wanna get Kingdom battle but I was hesitant since there were 0 Koopas unlike Sparks of hopes 5 (3 are variants of the same thing, it's still a shame) until I saw Yoshi was in the game and I realized, Yoshi is a turtle. Hear me out now, I still do believe Yoshi is a dinosaur, so much media says that, but I think that's part of his genetic and that he's mostly a Turtle. So let's dive into this theory

For one is obviously the shell on its back. Yoshi's are known for these, it's what makes Yoshi's so special, now you might think the shell is just there for Mario to catch a ride but there's other things to Yoshis shell and it's in Yoshi's island. In the games files there's a scrapped enemy which was a Dry bones version of Yoshi, and if you look at the sprite you can see that Yoshi's shell is attached to it's body, just like a Koopa Troopa

Also, In Mario party jamboree, during Bowsers mini games there's Yoshi's in the crowds of what's mostly Bowsers Minion's, this shows that there's still some Yoshi's out there working for Bowser. Let's not forget that Yoshi literally looks like a Koopa Troopa in every way, even the yellow Yoshi wears the same green shoes as Koopa Troopas, like it's trying to be one. Dinosaurs appear in the Mario series and just like turtles, are reptiles. Maybe Yoshi's are the offsprings of Koopa Troopas and Dinosaurs to create a dinosaur with turtle genetics! That's just my theory (Also it's kinda confirmed because Yoshi's full name literally has Koopa in it, I'm buying Kingdom battle for Yoshi 👅)

Aren't the "shells" on their backs saddles?
And also being in the crowd doesn't make you the host's minion, it makes you an audience member.
Also, Yoshi's last name does have Koopa in it! …it's Munchakoopas, though. That would be weird if they were Koopas.

They changed it, it's not a Saddle anymore (from what I heard)
And idk if you'd say that, if it was just a basic audience would there be toads and other guys? It's just bowsers minions that are there for his show, but you do make a good point.
Also I think you forgot that Yoshi's diet doesn't consist of Koopas, infact he's nice to some of them, don't you think the only ones he attacks are the ones that work for the Evil Koopa

I'm pretty sure they changed it from a shell to a saddle, actually.
Talking Flowers also appear in the game room, but they don't work for Bowser. Audience members aren't limited to their allegiance or origins. And why would Yoshis work for Bowser after his history with the dinos?
His diet doesn't consist entirely of Koopas, but he is able to eat most Koopas in games he appears in.

Talking flowers aren't in the audience, it's only Yoshis. And as the Dry Yoshi appears, some Yoshi's do work under bowsers control.
And yes he can eat Koopas, defenseless bad Koopas. He can't eat regular Koopas.

A Google search can't confirm that for you.
Talking Flowers appear in the mode itself. "Dry Yoshi" goes unused, so you shouldn't use it as evidence of anything.
It shouldn't matter what type of Koopa Yoshi eats. Yoshi eats Koopas.

Oh my god, it's literally a common fact, Yoshi wears a shell, not a saddle, Alot of media can tell you that, even a Google search and the Mario wiki!
Talking flowers Isn't in the crowd and even if Dry Yoshi isn't real Color splash still had them as enemies

Yoshi's eat Goombas and other stuff, should we name them Munchagoombas?

It's not a common fact, and Google/MarioWiki aren't clear on its present interpretation.
I said Talking Flowers are in the game mode. Color Splash's Yoshis are also not confirmed to be part of Bowser's army and are kept in cages; if they were Koopas and were minions, why would they need to be caged?
It doesn't matter what Yoshi eats, his last name is Munchakoopas. It honestly doesn't matter to anything.

You're being a bit rude also, could you not do that?

if you consider how yoshi shoots out their long tongue to grab food into their mouth i'm pretty sure yoshi is actually a frog. their smooth skin and wide variety of colours they can be supports this

They can still have different colors though, that's the point.
Plus Yoshi is more associated with green
Yoshi as a character is more associated. Not as a species.
And Koopas being different colors doesn't help your theory much if it isn't consistent like Yoshis are.

You just said Koopas couldn't change colors like Yoshi's can, I prove that false, and your saying it doesn't help? Not to sound rude, I'm not even talking about the theory anymore I'm just giving you facts

You just said Koopas couldn't change colors like Yoshi's can, I prove that false, and your saying it doesn't help?
You didn't prove me false, you gave examples of non-typical Koopas. I clarified what I meant. It doesn't help too much since these are characters and not typical members of the Koopa species.
Also, there is no canon.
