Ok eliminating PoNR over this episode expecting it to be not as disagreed on was surprisingly flawed. Otherwise this would have been my next cut over it.

Anyhow I know people tend to see Celestial Advice as a positive opener for Season 7, but I am neutral towards it instead of considering it good, as the episode feels like it is too slow-paced with it slowly recapping that events happened and gives too much exposition on characters' feelings such as Twilight about Starlight in a way that feels forced, and its blandness isn't helped by that Starlight never actually gets sent on the quest anyway. It's inoffensive and doesn't have gaping character writing problems but this is the last 5 to go.

On the topic of 5s, now that this was cut every episode left in the entire thread I'm at least fine with or better! I still am going to weed out the just fine episodes next though.

My rationale for eliminating Dungeons and Discords when I did was that, while it is a very good episode that has great character writing and introduces a good deal positive such as Discord's friendship with Spike and Big Mac, its weak spot is how its plot is formatted as a lot of the episode is just Discord, Spike and Big Mac playing Ogres and Oubliettes without the Discorded twist yet.

Marks and Recreation was going to be my first 6 and next cut yeah, it has somewhat of a genuine heart keeping it from being bad but flaws like that the CMC are kinda too constantly moralizing about Cutie Marks and that Rumble could be more compelling though not awful keep it from being great. The Maud Couple and Daring Done were upper 7s so I would have kept it an alright amount further, but so many 7s being cut could be worse since I had 14 episodes on the list as 7s, 16 episodes counting two-parters as two eps. While it of course was more bugging to me earlier on in this round, especially as I didn't think they deserved their low places, them being cut is especially easier to appreciate since I'm on the 6s now.

I'll next go after the second to weakest two parter both on this list and in the show, School Raze. While this episode has its positives and moments such as that the characters feel in character and that it's neat that more character groups have a direct role in saving the day than usual, it also has flaws like that some characters are too gullible to Cozy Glow here and that I was never someone on the positive end of Cozy Glow getting punished as harshly as she does in the two-parters, as she may be a bad person but is still only a young child. This episode also feels like it just doesn't have as much of an edge in being exciting as some of the two-parters or season finales do in general. (For example, while Cozy gets punished even more harshly in Ending of the End which brings that episode down too I'm keeping it longer because elements like the action scenes and covering of the villain trio tearing everyone in Equestria apart felt more exciting than anything here.)

I lied, since TSSS being cut was going to be my next move that puts me in a better mood so I'm cutting my second lowest and first 7, Fluttershy Leans In, and then cut the polarizing 6 next. This episode has a good moral and its satisfying moments but still could be more compelling by a bit. After my next cut is the potentially most polarizing 6, I'm going to wait two more moves than I would otherwise before cutting a 7 that also will probably be pretty heavily disagreed on but could have done more for me than it did

I enjoyed Horse Play and liked the humor with Celestia and moral for Twilight but I knew it wasn't going to make it. However I will say that the polarizing to cut 7 is from S8 so even if you don't cut anything from it for a long time it's not too far from whittling down to its T5 anyway.

On topic of episodes that someone here will disagree on my cutting, my next cut is Between Dark and Dawn after letting it last a bit longer than it would otherwise. I know this is a well-liked episode even in general and I did like it fine, but it isn't one of my favorites as while I remember having fun with Celestia and Luna's plot, the plot with the Mane Six taking over for them felt mostly by the books and fairly dull (aside from some fun moments with the animals), with the moral of asking for help feeling predictable and a rehash of as extremely early of an episode as Applebuck Season, made more noticeable by that in that episode Twilight was the one teaching Applejack that lesson but here she's leading the fear train against asking for help. Some people have this as one of their favorites including outside the forum and I can see why but I'm not one of them.

I will say that other episodes by anyone who strongly preferred BDAD are going to make it without me cutting them in the next few rounds but I'm going to say anything further than that regarding where they stand

Once Upon a Zeppelin was another 8 as I thought it was fun and I liked Twilight's role as a princess in her arc on vacation, but it wasn't perfect as Iron Will could have been more engaged as an indirect assertiveness mentor for Twilight than he actually is in the episode.

Next up is Triple Threat, this episode is mildly good as I liked the moral about Ember and Thorax's relationship with Spike and the humor with Ember being insensitive was funny, but I remember feeling like some other jokes than Ember's didn't land as well and finding it contrived that Spike forgets that he invited Ember and Thorax on the same day, so it's going. It's fairly unfortunately probably the best Spike episode out of these three seasons, although I'm not cutting one other episode out of niceness until my move after my next cut

Yoiks WLB was the first episode in my preferred t10 gone, and #7 too. I knew it wasn't going to win but I wish it stayed longer

It Isn't The Mane Thing About You is next up, this episode is good being competently written with its satisfying parts and the humor isn't awful (the magic hair replacement gags) but sometimes it felt a bit dragged out for Rarity to freak out and the moral felt a bit familiar.

While this is my last cut before I target the polarizing cut 7 idk if this is also a favorite with others/disagreed on cut too especially since it's generally considered good even without the context of who's playing. But I remember still having even more fun with even the higher 7s left

Oof, yeah I doubted that one would be too low for you but it was distinctly the second weakest for me left

Next up is Molt Down, I can see why this episode is well-liked not just by players here but in general in the fandom, and I find it slightly good too as it has fun and cool moments like Spike fighting the Roc and getting his power but I tend to prefer episodes that are character interaction-driven when a lot of this episode is Spike running around and being stressed about his powers with the Molt.

60 percent of the episodes left are from S9 lol, though 8 of my next 10 cuts rankingwise are from S9 and so is 1 out of my 2 cuts due to previous winner disqualification. Less than 20 percent left is from S8 too but also one episode in a wheelchair now and not far from its deathbed is from S8

Only 3 7s left for me, though one is a two-parter so then 4.

I promise that there are some episodes coming up next that might not be uber high for people playing lol

nah molt down is possibly the best spike episode in the series. it's very close between it and gauntlet of fire

i'm already down to 10 9+s and two of them are former winners so things are pretty scary. all my 7s remaining are from s9 so with this being my last 6 it's time to take a sledgehammer to 9

My favorite Spike episode is Inspiration Manifestation although Gauntlet of Fire is a great episode too

3 episodes in my preferred T10 as well as 2 of them being in my ideal T5 are from S9 but for the most part I strongly agree with blowing through S9 right now. In fact both of my last two 7s are from S9, as well as my cut right now.

Last cut tonight is The Last Crusade (which has kinda a lie title considering the Crusaders get another episode later the season) is an episode where everything about it works great except for maybe Scootaloo's parents themselves; they come across as insensitive and dry and even if you're supposed to see them as that it feels less fun. Anything else about the episode works very well however as it consistently has a great heart and I like Scootaloo's aunts much more, even though I think at first I found their voice acting to be odd.

TCaC is an episode that I always saw as pretty good so was happy it made it this far considering it seems to be seen as pretty average in the fandom, and usually wouldn't make it this far though I know a lot of why it did was you just considering the other episodes weaker

EDIT: Also the Top 5 of Season 7 is my exact Top 5 of the season, nice

No don't feel rushed, players should play at the rate that's best for them

Frenemies was a fun episode to see the villains team up and learn their own teamwork lessons in order to get things accomplished, with a very good villain song, but I did find it to have a few flaws such as forced exposition from the villains, and that there could be a bit more humor as it feels more fun than funny.
