On November 7th, 2018...
You know, I had a decent thing going for a while there where I'd post a drawing every few months. That, uh... didn't last. I started drawing the idea I was referring to in the above quote at some point in 2019. Since then, I kept telling myself I needed to finish it but I'd work on it a little and then drop it for months before picking it up again. It's not like it's super complicated, though I guess it's more detailed than some of my previous stuff. In any event, I finished it yesterday. Therefore, it's finally time to perform an act of necromancy and bring this thread back from the dead. Oh, by the way, I did draw decent amount during that time, just not on things that would directly go in this thread. Welp, here it is:
Yep, the character I'm theming after right now. Theming after her was a good way to jumpstart me drawing as I didn't want my theme to come and go without posting the drawing. Not only that, but I just got the game she's from for Christmas, so the timing really was impeccable. I've liked Momohime for a long while because she has a rather neat design (with an interesting hairstyle) and I think she's rather pretty. I called her a secondary waifu back in 2018 because she's not far behind the Squid Sisters in my "waifu list" (honestly I should probably use a different term like best girl or videogame crush or whatever, but unfortunately waifu is the most succinct term). Anyway, there's a couple things in this drawing that could look better but I'll give the disclaimer that the actual linework is from 2019 and I think I've improved a bit since then. Regardless, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Well, now that this thread has been resuscitated I might as well post various other artwork I've done while taking my sweet time with the above drawing!
Next up, the drawing of the combination abomination Marioshigi I drew for the Favorite Character award in Mario Awards 2020. Now, Koops did the digitized linework and coloring for the final drawing that was featured in the presentation, but now you get to see the original base version I did on paper! Fun fact, this has some stuff that was not included in the final version, like the speech bubble (and his eyes looking in a different direction because I still can't figure out how to draw forward-looking eyes):
This next one is a drawing I did for a Halloween art trade in a Marie discord server I'm in. It's the OC of someone by the name of @SkyeRoxy who isn't on these forums to my knowledge. Which... makes it feel kinda weird to post it here but I drew this particular picture of her OC so... idk??? In any case here it is:
Next up is a drawing I did for the Rose Garden Secret Santa 2020 of our very own Lakituthequick! This counts as one of the user drawings I've done, which means so far I've done myself, Yoshi the SSM, LeftyGreenMario, BabyLuigiOnFire, Koops, Toadgamer, and now Lakituthequick. I do plan on doing more users in the future so keep an eye out! Oh, and there are two cameos in this picture as well...
Lastly, a picture of the plushie versions of the Squid Sisters in Christmas sweaters that I did for a Christmas art trade in the aforementioned Marie-themed server. Believe it or not, the official plushies of the Squid Sisters have their own popularity among Squid Sisters fans and they even get their own fanart fairly often. This is a pretty niche drawing even for a Splatoon fan but I'm going to subject you all to it anyway:

4 months isn't that long... right?
Behold! New art. In what is likely a surprise to no one, I have drawn a pair of cephalopod women:
As avid followers of this thread (if such a thing exists) may remember, this is not the first time I've drawn Marie. However, I personally think that this one is waaaaay better than the original one I did. Plus, this is first time I've drawn Callie (not counting the plush version of her in the post above). But I had to pay tribute to both of them together, as they belong. I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out. Yeah, the Squid Sisters... I like them a lot..............
Here's individual photos of them from the drawing too as trying to take a photo of an entire paper without the lighting or angle being weird at any point is, as it turns out, difficult.
Okay, that's all I have for now. I'm definitely gonna try to stop taking such long gaps between drawings. It's summer now, so theoretically I should be able to get drawings done more often (emphasis on theoretically). I don't know what it is, but I always start to lose motivation in the coloring phase. Still, I have high hopes for myself in these upcoming months.
But what will I draw next? Probably more video game girls, if I'm being honest with myself. However, I do want to get back into drawing users as I have done several times in this thread before, especially since there were two users who I cryptically implied I was gonna draw almost three years ago and still haven't yet.... Uh, I hope neither of them have been waiting this whole time. I do plan to draw both of you eventually (and a whole bunch of others)! You may or may not know who you are, but I do!

Hellooo people, I'm back again. It's been a little over two weeks since my last update, and that's great! I think this is the fastest turnaround since I started this thread, so I am rather pleased with myself. Anyway, if you've ever played Subspace Emissary in Brawl, you might remember that Zero Suit Samus and Pikachu team up at one point in the story to break out of whatever facility and to beat up Ridley just to rub in the fact that he wasn't a playable character yet. Since then, the two of them have been paired up a lot in fan art with Pikachu being portrayed kind of like Samus's pet. There's a lot of cute and wholesome fan art of the two of them so I decided to join in on that trend:
I based ZSS's design primarily off of Ultimate. She's a bit more muscular in that game than others which I think makes sense with canon, so I tried to incorporate that here. I haven't really drawn people with muscular builds in the past so it was a bit experimental but I think it worked out. It took me a long time to figure out how to get her crossed legs to look right though, had to look up some anatomy references for that. Pikachu was pretty simple unsurprisingly, I just used screenshots of his sleeping animation from Ultimate and copied directly from that. Be careful not to wake him up, by the way.
So yup. I'm really getting into a good groove with drawing so I think you'll be seeing a lot more soon, hopefully with some user drawings included. I may or may not also have drawings show up in a couple other places, but we'll see. Have a good day y'all!

Hiya folks, a little under 3 weeks since my last post. A bit longer than last time but still not bad. I do hope to update it even faster soon since I still have a lot to draw and I feel like it's gonna get much, much slower once school starts, but this'll do for now. So I have a list of about 25 characters that I plan to draw, and so I decided to put them on an online wheel of names to see who to draw next (this is actually how I chose ZSS before). This time it landed on gaming's most famous fighting game woman: Chun-Li!
I don't think it makes a difference but I based her primarily on artwork of Street Fighter II and its excessive re-releases. By coincidence, this is the second muscular lady I've drawn in a row. The artwork was a bit inconsistent about that, but I figured if you're gonna make a living by beating the living daylights out of people everyday, then you're probably going to be a bit ripped. Chun-Li's got an interesting character design because you've kind of got some dissonance with the hair thingies and the very loosely traditional Chinese dress compared to the spike bracelets and her general tough appearance. Somehow it works though. She was fun to draw! Oh and no, I haven't played Street Fighter, unless you count constantly getting Ken when I select Random in Smash Ultimate. (Actually, I have played it for about 30 seconds on an arcade machine once but I digress.)
Alright that's it for now. I will be back hopefully even sooner with more art. Adios!
