So this hack made by Kaze Emanuar, a SM64 hacker released his project a couple days ago. Not sure if anyone has tried it here or saw it. It's really impressive. I have been playing it and I really enjoy it, although it can be very difficult. Download and details are in the description of the video if you want to try it out. Also if you do try it, talk to Princess Peach in the File Select hub.
 
Nintendo doesn't take down mods, only fangames. Mods are in a safer territory than games that can be run independently of games.

this is really good, dunno if i'd say it's as good as star road though
