Fun facts

Here's a shocking fact for the Doctor Who fans on here:

On November 22, 1987, while broadcasting the episode "Horror of Fang Rock", WTTW-TV, the PBS affiliate in Chicago, Illinois, was interrupted for exactly 88 seconds by a pirate television broadcast that managed to dominate over WTTW's transmitter to broadcast a video of himself being spanked while wearing a Max Headroom mask!

Here's something else I discovered today: earlier that night, the Max Headroom mask-wearing person also interrupted a Chicago Bears report on then-independent station WGN's 9:00 PM CT newscast with another pirate transmission of himself. That video, though, only showed him just moving around.

There was a short-lived Johnny Bravo spinoff titled JBVO: Your All-Request Cartoon Show that aired on Cartoon Network in the early 2000's-a caller, notably enough, requested a Dragonball Z episode (usually, half-hour-long shows weren't shown) and because it was a half-hour-long show, Johnny Bravo (regretfully) was forced to fast-forward through the entire episode and only provided expositional commentary. After showing the episode, Johnny apologized to the caller for the inconvenience.

Does a Youtube video exist of this particular episode of JBVO?

Fun fact: Banjo and Kazooie are the most requested characters on YouTube for SSB4. No wonder why, quite frankly...

Even though that probably won't happen, it's because they were Nintendo icons in many of those Youtuber's childhoods.

In a minority language of Spain, "Look out, you're falling" sounds identical to the English sentence "I see cows".

In Spanish, in order to say "She's daydreaming", you say "She's thinking about the immortality of the crab".

You know how everyone makes fun of that woman who sued McDonalds for not warning her that her coffee was hot? Yeah, she suffered third-degree burns from spilling the coffee on herself.

And she only sued after McDonald's only offered $800 for her medical bills.

Very few people actually knew how in November 1993, Animaniacs even received high ratings during disadvantageous events-this was the result of a three-day transmitter failure at then-Fox affiliate KDAF in Dallas, Texas, in which viewers who had been expecting an Animaniacs episode were instead greeted with a blank screen. During this time, about 11,000 television sets were tuned into KDAF during Animaniacs's normal timeslot, almost double that of those who were tuned into then-independent rival station KXTX-TV.

If all the gold content of the earth's oceans could be extracted and divided among 7 billion people, everyone would get around 5 pounds each.

Whenever the closing credits of an episode of the very last season of The Twilight Zone airs on Me TV, the original version is used that incorporates images of either a Pall Mall cigarette package or a Crest toothpaste tube (in both cases, as they appeared back in 1963)-even though the current companies airing commercials during the show obviously don't want to have another company's product advertised!

Contrary to popuar belief, there are no horses on Saturn.

The poster child for the "perfect Aryan" that the Nazis advertised, was Jewish.

Five pounds (weight) of gold or five pounds (the currency) worth of gold?

One country has a Gross National Happiness index. It's Bhutan.
