I ended up making a custom Boo costume for Super Mario Maker

Well, nothing much to comment on. Did you actually make any changes aside from a few edits or did you just substitute the sprite from Super Mario World for the most part?

if super mario maker is moddable then I could see the sprite fitting in

I mostly used the smb1 boo sprite, with some edits here and there.
