They weren't going to cut Meta Knight. The only reason he'd be gone if Sakurai started being modest his own series and/or games again. But I think Palutena's inclusion pretty much shot that out the window. (Cause I don't think Palutena gets in without Uprising's existence.)

So this really didn't come as a surprise to me that he's back xP

Considering the Halberd has been known as a stage for a while, I find it hard to believe he'd be cut. Hopefully he's sufficiently nerfed.

Not really, his air game is terrible (Even Sakurai outright says it is). As long as you're skilled enough to dodge much of his ground attacks and keep Little Mac off the ground. Little Mac can be taken down.
