United States Presidential Election, 2012

I'm not a Romney supporter, but he'll probably end up being the nominee. The only one who obviously has a chance at becoming the nominee, besides Romney, is Santorum.

I just wish Gingrich and Paul would drop out - it'd make the race so much more interesting.
 
I don't understand how somebody who denies global warming and the separation of church and state can get supporters. I think the supporters are loonier, though. :P

Santorum is the second-best so far and he's crazier than Romney, I suppose.

Gringich and Paul... there's not much going for them, so they'll probably drop out some time.
 
Gingrich has said himself that he'll stay in all the way to the convention, where he's hoping for a broken convention. Which he can't win because of a RNC rule.

I believe the rule is that you cannot become the nominee if you haven't won at least 5 states. How many states has Gingrich won? 2.

Paul... Paul'll more than likely stay in till the end like he did last election.
 
I think Gingrich will drop out soon, but Paul will most likely not do so. As long as he has the funds to continue his campaign, he will.
 
The Republicans are all rhetoric, it seems. Way too much rhetoric. I know politics is a game for power and control, but still. :P
 
Romney has won the state of Wisconsin.

Now we wait till the 24th when we have 5 more contests. Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island all vote.

Pensylvania and Texas are HUGE states and we know Romeny won't win those. It's a toss up between Romney and Santorum it could go either way. I really don't get what the point of these endorsements are. At all. If you hate Romney, does the fact that some moderate Republican like Jeb Bush, HW Bush, or Marco Rubio endorses his ass going to make you like him? Or is it just going to make more pissed off?

Exactly. Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and Paul Ryan are all seen as big people in the GOP, so people find those endorsements as the biggest thing to happen in this race - and that we should all rally around Romney because of it.

Pennsylvania and Texas will both more than likely go to Santorum. I don't think Santorum will win any of the other states on the 24th - he might have a shot at something like Delaware and maybe even New York, but the only state he'll for sure win is Pennsylvania. Basically, we still have:

Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island - April 24th.
Louisiana - April 28th.
Indiana, North Carolina, West Virginia - May 8
Oregon, Nebraska - May 15
Arkansas, Kentucky - May 22
Texas - May 29
California, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota - June 5
Nebraska - June 1-10
Montana - June 5, June 14-16
Utah - June 26

Romney will most likely win: Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island, Oregon, California, and New Jersey.

Santorum could win the rest - they all seem like states he would win.

It's just that they're in his territory. Just about every state Santorum has won is a central state or a southern state, so he'll win states like South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, and Arkansas.

You should hate Romney more because at least Rick is honest. I don't know how anyone can trust a politician like Romney who is insincere. I think it would be interesting if Bill Mahr would run for president.

Course, it is from the Santorum website, so we have to take everything with a grain of salt considering the obvious inclination for bias.

Still, I agree with the fact that the media seems to think Romney is locked in by this point.
 
The part about Florida and Arizona switching to proportional seems to be true from what I've seen, it's just the issue of it going through.

The part about Texas is also true since it was mentioned on Fox News earlier, but apparently Rick Perry and the RNC seem like they won't go through with changing it to Winner-Take-All.

no worries, I understand, I don't trust it completely. It's just that it seems the stuff for Florida, Arizona, and Texas are all true (because apparently Gingrich's campaign started a thing about Florida's delegates being awarded proportionally back in March, anyways).

Santorum's guys are trying to make it sound like he still has a chance; he doesn't. Romney's going to get the nomination, the only reason Gingrich and Santorum and their kind were considered is because nobody likes Romney, but he's the only electable one in the bunch.
