For the most part no.

I do dislike it though when teachers tell off students for swearing even though it's not against the rules and it doesn't offend anyone.
 
No nail varnish-laaaame.
Plus the no hair dye rule which nobodg cares about, unless someonw dyes their hair neon green.

Really, that harsh? I have multiple teachers that not only condone swearing, but swear frequently themselves.
 
Eh, my college is more lenient on rules. They even have places where you can go and smoke. They also let us swear, but sometimes they'll just say "Oi!"

Back in my old school, they were much much stricter. Seriously, one of the teachers gave out a detention to someone who's trousers were hanging a tiny bit low.
 
We can get detentions if our uniform shirt isn't tucked into out uniform pants and if our socks are not a specific color so that they don't clash with our uniform shoes.

We have a cover teacher who goes looking for nail varnish.

Also once a girl in my French had her skit too short and had to change it.
 
My schools usually had the rule that you can't stay indoors during break. It was annoying.

That one time, between two physics classes, a couple students and I hid ourselves in the back of the room when the teacher tried to shoo us out of the building. I then proceeded to replace the stuff on the blackboard with physically impossible nonsense.

When everyone came back, they were very puzzled about how a resistor could have a resistance of -5Ω. Good times.
 
When I was in middle school, they didn't allow you to bring pop or anything at lunch and not only were phones banned, you couldn't even carry one. Oh, and you were given a detention if you didn't wear certain colors on "spirit day".
 
In my middle school, there was a ridiculous "no electronic devices at all anywhere" rule. And you were required to use a locker; lugging around your backpack in the classroom was forbidden. Oh, and you could get in trouble if you don't write stuff down in your agenda in a certain way. Man, I hated middle school.

And I dislike the "no electronic devices" rule when pretty much anything in the classroom (calculators, computers, laptops) qualify as an electronic device. I know maybe I'm a bit nitpicky, but hey, I like circumventing the rules at times.

There's never snow days here until its literally shitty enough outside that people have frozen to death (inb4 canada jokes) and you always have outdoor recess unless it's rain storming

Also you weren't allowed to goddam get up to walk around the room during lunch time when you were in really young grades, despite there being a supervisor walking the halls. I legit got in trouble for getting up to pick up someone's pencil that i knocked on the ground. Hell, I got into pretty big trouble for doing stuff at lunch, even though Im pretty sure the gist of it was standing up.

I also wrote lines once for stepping in a sizable puddle. First warning and I didn't even go deep enough to make a mess for janitors so I guess I was just the warning to everyone else

I've also gotten shit for running in the halls in grade 12, even though it was pretty much a light jog and I was about to run late

Nothing else comes to mind so it's probably justified to me or teacher-specific

When I was in middle school back in NJ, we had a spirit day before Thanksgiving. I didn't get the memo, though, so not only did I not show up in Matawan-Aberdeen's maroon and white, I accidentally donned our turkey day rival Raritan's green and silver.

The bitter stares were not pleasant.
