I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this but here is an rant
This is the one thing on this forum I despise: name changing, there is not point at all and it causes two big problems things, Confusion and Complaining. Also it's unnecessary it is and yet 95% of active users do it.
Confusion happens every single time someone changes their name, they post comments like "who the hell are you" or "your new", turst me, it gives both guests and users confusion of who they are and some may think it's actually the character who's speacking, confusion also happens when name changing fads happen, everyone got confused during the Homestuck fad a couple of years ago because everyone had similar profiles and similar names, same went for the MLP fad and the Dangon Ronpa fad. It's would be easier at least if the users name was on the top not the characters when these fads happen, I hate this most when they don't say their name on their profile.
Not changing their profile is also a bad thing because of the name they got they can't change their profile off topic because that's just weird. While it's minor I would like to have this brought up as well.
The second of the two problems is Complaining, I hate it every time when someone heads into the name change thread and complain about someone changing their name or most of all complaining that they don't want to be that any more but they have to stick with that until their month is up. Well Rin complained all the *bleep*ing time about that and a lot of users still do that today. If you don't feel your going to want that theme for that long, don't change your name simple as that, it comes to complain and then they cry Becuase the mods won't let them change their name.
What I hate most is how unnecessary it is, no other forum does this, who first came up with the idea of "let's change my name to a something different" has lead this forum into this nme changing palace. If you want that character's theme or whatever just change your custom title to who the character is not your name that would save you from confusion and complaining. Why do it? I have not changed my name since May 2012 where then I only just wanted to change my because I didn't like the name New Super Yoshi anymore. And yet most name changes are just for fun and yet it's not that fun.
The reason why I made this is because I saw much more bad things with name changing than good things. I know most of you will disagree but I would rather if name changing goes for good, Confusion and Complaining will be gone for good as well.
