island (島) and bird (鳥) are similar looking in japanese

teacher: this is the transfer student, ghost-kun
sfx: howl, rumble

ghost: i am a ghost
ghost: i am reasonably hateful. it's nice to meet you all

child 1: uh, what's so hateful?
child 2: let's go play!
sfx: yaay yaay

child: which graveyard do you live in?
ghost: please act a little scared for me


bamboo cutter

narration: an old man found a glowing bamboo but went home without cutting it
old man: if it's still glowing tomorrow i'll cut it

narration: that night, a woman who had become merged with a bamboo came calling
woman: it's because you didn't cut it!
narration: she had planned to become princess kaguya

narration: while the bamboo remained at the old man's house,
sfx: fart
narration: farting while eating
narration: not flushing the toilet
narration: she did as many misdeeds as possible

narration: in the blink of an eye, the old man began to lose weight from the stress
book: "lose weight in the blink of an eye by not cutting bamboo!" by old man saku
narration: and published a book with this title

references a japanese folktale

is this from that warioware do it yourself game? the old man's name is japanese for "make" or "create"

I've got the descriptions to the two Japan-exclusive souvenirs (Mushroom and Mochitsuki Set) in image form (bottom bar). Could someone translate them?

The Japanese WarioWare: Smooth Moves site has a silly in-universe blog, which wasn't translated for the western site. It's referenced on the Mona page, but I'm sure it has interesting content for the other characters.

今日はあたしがブログ書きます！

あたし、いま高校でチアリーダーやってるの！
今日はダイヤモンドシティから電車に乗って行ける
パール広場で練習してきちゃった！

パール広場って、いろんな遊び場があるんだけど、
道沿いが芝生になってるのよね。
平日は人通りが少ないから練習にうってつけなんだ。

新しいお友達のクリケットくん。

次がダイナーのウエイトレス、
その次はピザ屋さんの配達員、
で、いまが中華料理店の看板娘ってわけ。

でもねあたしが移り気なんじゃなくて、
バイト先のジョー店長が次々に
お店変えちゃうんだもん。
しょうがないよねー。

It’s always-genki Mona!
Jimmy-san’s not feeling well, so I’m writing the blog today!

Tomorrow, I’m cheerleading at the senior high school! Today [we’re] taking the electric train from Diamond City to practice in the Pearl Square!

Pearl Square has various places to play but there’s a lawn growing alongside the road, right? Because there’s less foot-traffic on weekdays, it’s a perfect place to practice.

Behind me in the photo is my new friend Cricket-kun. He’s a regular at the Chinese food store I work at part-time.

Huh? Before, my part-time job was at a pizzeria, right? Yeah! First I was a clerk at a Gelato store, next was a dinner waitress, and next after that I was the pizzeria’s delivery girl, and, now I’m the Chinese food store’s poster girl.

But you know, I haven’t become fickle, Manager Joe keeps changing the store I work at. It can’t be helped.
