I don't want a second Link personally, but eh.
Those four are fine, though I think Pokemon is popular enough to warrant a fifth rep. I'd personally bring back either Mewtwo or Lucario.
Sure. I think Kirby's ready for a fourth rep by now, but the only decent one I can come up with is BWD, and you said before that you didn't like him as a choice, so eh.

F-Zero can have a second rep, yeah. I'd rather have Goroh, but Black Shadow is a good choice too.
The awakening guy would probably be Chrom.

I would love to have Tom Nook, but I have a hard time imagining him being beat up by Mario or Samus. Still, I guess it's possible.
Why does he even have his own section when he's a Capcom character? Mega Man's the more likely Capcom character anyway.

Don't really want Balloon Fighter, personally. Other three are fine.

Overall though not that bad of a roster, considering that you've never played the series. Though I'm just curious, why exactly did you remove Ike, Lucario, and R.O.B.?

I still want Ike in.
Fire Emblem is big enough to have three reps. (There's lots of games even though there are only 5 in the US)
Marth would represent Japan
Ike would represent the series more known in the US.
and Chrom would represent the new game, which can be considered both known in the US and Japan.
