My roster has Pikachu, the Trainer, Lucario, Zoroark, and Jiggly. I'm personally ok with all of these, though Meowth would probably be the one that would get dropped. (Although I'd personally prefer him over Mewtwo and Zoroark, he's just less likely)

Waluigi was because I needed another Mario spin-off rep, and Waluigi seemed the most probable.

Skull Kid was because he won the character poll sent to Sakurai.

I guess I could replace Chrom with Hector or Ephraim.

I wanted another Gen I Pokémon rep to have an equal number of Gen I and Gen V, so I picked Meowth because he's an iconic Pokémon.

As for Paper Mario, I needed another Mario rep, and Paper Mario seemed like a unique and fun choice. If you have a better suggestion, let me know (not Toad).

I don't really want another version of Mario to be playable (I mean, at least Baby Mario is a separate character from Mario, and he can represent the Yoshi series). He won't be a good representative for the Mario series IMO, especially when Toad and Bowser Jr. are there.

Roy debuted in Smash Bros, so I don't think "they" had much to say at all.
