Sudden Influx of Unnecessary Smileys

As you have probably noticed, the amount of smileys has sky-rocketed during the course of this week. Before, it seems like smileys haven't been added that easily. The normal smileys we have, such as , and :D, are all designed with the same purpose in mind: simplifying means of discussion when you want to express a feeling. For instance, if I post something happy, I am inclined to type ":)", which makes "", a happy face. However, if I have to post something sad, I would type ":(" instead, which makes "". With all of the above being said, I have one question to you all, when the hell are you going to use them, and for what purposes?

I agree with this. This is a Mario-themed forum after all, we should have smileys of some of the major characters in the series. Though I do think the more obscure ones such as or are a little too far (then again, we do have )

In general, I think that because Porple has been very lenient with what to add, people have just leached onto his generosity, subsequently becoming "Smiley Greedy", so then even more get added. God, for merely an hour ago, I decided to go buy myself a hamburger at my local grill, which is five minutes away from where I live, and also purchase some candy. All of this took about thirty minutes, and when I returned I see about five, six new smileys added. Will this forum explode in smileys? At this pace, it probably will.

I agree with this. I'm fine with most of the Mario smileys (though some of the more obscure ones might not be needed), and even things like Kirby and Samus I don't really have a problem with, but I find the three you posted to be kind of unnecessary.

I haven't leeched to his generosity, I've made some like Baby Mario and Baby Luigi years ago and they haven't been added. The Mario-related ones are fine; we are a Mario forum, things like Diddy Kong should have been added much earlier.
