Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

it gets even worse when you consider that onix and steelix are defense pokemon.

and rock/ground is a HORRIBLE defensive typing and is only offensive.

infact i think the only pokemon that even makes good use of that typing is rhyperior.

Even Rhyperior has problems, since even with Solid Rock and an active sandstorm, a powerful STABbed Water-type or Grass-type special attack can easily take it out in one blow, especially when the Life Orb and/or Choice Specs are added to the equation. The only things that might save Rhyperior are if it invests its EVs into its special defense, or utilize the Passho Berry or Rindo Berry to reduce the damage to a survivable level.

Still, Rhyperior desperately needs Trick Room assistance to be effective in any way.

true enough, kinda sad too since rhyperior has some amazing physical stats.

poor guy never gets a break.

You know, I did have a bit of a thought on my mind. I often wondered what it would be like if the Dark-type had a resistance against Poison-type attacks. That would surely help out Shiftry and Cacturne by giving them one less weakness to worry about.

The reason why I got this thought was due to one of Umbreon's Pokedex entries, which mentioned about it spraying poisonous sweat.

I never really liked rock types. I've never used one as part of my team.

what about tyranitar???
Oh, he's the exception. I use him in White 2. I usually associate him with dark type, that's why he slipped my mind.

aerodactyl and kabutops are pretty cool too btw.

if you like legendaries then terrakion is also good.

I was considering Aerodactyl in HeartGold once. If I'm making a team, I don't use legendaries. Though Terrakion is cool.

Poison is such an awful attacking type anyways that it doesn't need another handicap. If anything, Poison should be expanded so that it's at least super-effective against more than one type.

Perhaps it could be super against Bug? Or super against Water would be interesting, that would certainly put a new twist against Rain teams.

yeah it'd be nice poison had some better uses, as poison jab and sludge wave arent really too bad, but the poison typing itself just really makes them entirely lack luster.
