Yeah I still think its good I even played Ruby for a while till I got stuck because the game didn't make it clear what I needed to do next and Gold but stopped after a while because it wasn't saving. I just don't have the incentive to buy/play other games.

Talking about the internet dude(or atleast the community at the time), gen 3 is still the most hated of the series, with good reason(surfing 80% of the game, crap champ, etc. etc.).
Plus gen 5 made so many good things(like gyms actually being unique and other dungeon like areas actually being like dungeons). Not to mention its story was praised from all over, from actually being different and more story driven.
The competitive scene also loved it, due to various upgrades to pokemon like Charizard, Venusaur, and Blaziken, plus a good area of good dark and fighting pokes.
But thats the original B/w, dunno about 2.
