I don't know if that is unpopular or not... but

the original Super Mario Bros. sucks, all else kinda suck. The least is NSMBW with the exception to overpowered power-ups.

Mario Kart N64 is still the one with the best battle system.

Well, while it's not exactly Charles Martinet. There is this fan channel who has a voice actor who does a very good impression of Martinet's Mario. I'll post an example video here, this is Mario summing up the last Nintendo direct. With expressions, and talking a good amount throughout the whole thing

 
They serve a far greater purpose and are far more important than any one off rpg character.

And they aren't generic when they are the original designs, you don't call the originals generic.

quite frankly i can call them what i want to

and they are fairly generic as far as their species go

and the only purpose they serve is to get their asses kicked

Agreed. I'd actually really hate it if one-shots took the place of "generic" enemies in Kart and other titles.

And that's coming from someone who thinks TTYD is the best Mario game with PM1 not too far behind.

Sure, but that doesn't make it correct.

And sure, they exist to get beaten up, but you go play a Mario game without enemies and tell me how much fun it is.

i never said it was correct

its called an opinion, learn to tell the difference

plenty of enemies exist in games, that doesnt make them any less boring to see in other games
 
Yeah I'd love to have Parakarry in there over Paratroopa but that's mostly because he's what my OC is based off of.

BTW, why is it not possible to change your Koopa's shell color? That would be great.

I know what an opinion is, the thing is, this isn't a case of different opinions, they are the originals, its a fact that their design (which is the only thing that would be emphasised btw) is not generic.

The opinion is over which should be in. To which I say the originals should be in since they are important, iconic characters of the franchise and were just as important to its success than the bros, peach and any other of the main characters.

i classify them as generic for the sole reason that a lot of koopas, lakitus, etc. have the same design in the main series

which seem generic, its not based on the original design, its based on how the other versions of them have the same design

and all i want is some rpg characters to be playable from time to time, sure the main characters such as mario and peach are great, but sometimes i just wish they'd mix it up a bit
