GIMP Recolor Help

It all depends on what you are recoloring. Sprites? Artwork?

ON TOPIC: Ok, I recoloured some art, now I cannot upload it as I cannot save it as a png/gif.

This is for GIMP, right? Click "Save as" and name the pic "NameHere.png"
 
If you don't put any file extensions, it will save as a GIMP only, .xcf file (or something like that). You can also choose the extensions on the bottom of the window, but it's faster if you type .png than select one.
