With this picture, the Pony Project is finally finished. I'd like to thank everybody who signed up or agreed to be in the picture whether or not you're big fans of Friendship is Magic. There is a few I technially didn't ask, which I think is only Bean and Neptune but I hardly think they'll object to being in it.
It's been over a year since I first discovered the show, during this time I have already admitted to myself that I like the show but I still didn't have the nerve to tell anyone just yet. I'm sure many of my Brony friends already heard how I got into the show. So I won't go into any more details on repeating that story. I'd like to talk about how it's own popularity has risen in the community. You see, late in March the only one I knew who watched the show and liked it was Shroobario. Although this would stop later, I did have this sinking feeling of "I"ll be a laughing stock if I ever admit I like this show". It was only seeing how the popularity has risen all over the internet to tell me that I was not alone and thus gave me the courage to finally start telling people that I've been watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and that I really, really like it. I first admitted it on April 2nd, I'm actually glad I didn't get too many repulsive comments about it at that time. After which, I just let it seek in the next few weejs as I subtly showed a few people about the show and subtly made references to it sometimes. I got a few people interested but it wasn't until me and Jorge started the Episode watches over last Summer did it really start to grow within our community. People like FE and S-Y went in thinking we were watching something that'd be a girly-girly laughfest, but as many people usually did they were surprised right from the get-go within the first 2 episodes. Jorge was even easier, he already said he liked it within the first 5 minutes. And throughout most of the episodes, we had some good fun as we went through 4 episodes every week until we finally finished all of Season 1. By the time it was over, a good amount of common chatters in Paperchat became big fans of the show and #paperchat basically became the MarioWiki unofficial Pony chatroom for a time. It wouldn't be long before it got into the Forum as well as people chose their favorite ponies and started posting Pony-related stuff.
It hasn't been without hardships, there have been some backlash from some users who weren't as fond of the Pony stuff as the majority was both on the forums and the chat. And even on at least one occasion where I was basically personally insulted on chat just because I am a Brony. But was relatively minor compared to the massive popularity growth it got. Some notable things done on the forum included getting over 200 pages of Pony related posts in the 2 main threads for it alone and having Rainbow Dash win my first Forum's Choice game beating Luigi by 4 votes.
I just want to thank many of my friends who like the show just about as much as I do on the times we've had. Most of you still haven't been fans for a year quite yet, but I'd just like you to know that I love ya guys all the same. And I'd gladly do all I've done since April 2nd again if I had to. Alot of you were already my friends long before I got into the show, but enjoying something like this all together has made it even more special and I feel like I've developed stronger bonds with alot of you
