I just beat __

Finally 100% Vampire Survivors and all of its current DLCs, for real this time. All 512 items in the collection, 392 bestiary entries, 480 or so unlocks, and the 4 required adventures are completed. Man... this game is definitely my favorite I've played all year. Looking forward to future DLC drops as well, so I can eventually re100% those parts as well!.

I think I am done with Splatoon Raiders.

From easiest to hardest:
  1. Gadget Guide (gadgets): The game has 15 gadgets that you can purchase. That's the easy part. The hard part are, well, the parts.
  2. Briny Scrolls: The story mode has one or two per level, and then there's the last one which requires beating the bonus boss to get.
  3. Relic Collection: Some are obtained from Story Mode, but the rest can only be gotten from the extra levels as random rewards.
  4. Salmonid Research: Requires beating a target number of enemies. A few of them are rare, especially the Goldie.
  5. Gadget Guide (parts): Requires obtaining the parts for each gadget. Some are random drops (thankfully made easier with something obtained from the bonus boss), but some require purchasing. They require Gems to get the higher-graded ones, which are a grind itself.
  6. Weapon Guide: Completely random drops. A bit alleviated by using the matching weapon type for the type you are currently missing, since I notice that for example, equipping a Brush drops Brush weapons more often.
What is not completed as of now?
  • The Arcade games. The target for them is to get A rank in each, because one of the costumes has this requirement, but I only got A rank in two of them. Hopping is only B, and Landing is somehow C.
  • The Bottomless Buffet. After beating the bonus boss, the player can go through a gauntlet of progressively more difficult levels (because of progressively higher enemy strength). I only reach Floor 430 (Salmonid Level 210). For reference, it gets as low as floor 1000, which would have the Salmonid strength of Level 333) The progression is just not for me.
  • The costumes. I only have 6 to unlock: one is from the aforementioned Arcade games, one is from playing a multiplayer game through invite, and the rest are amiibo unlocks. The only realistically unlockable one I can do now is the one that require a non-Raiders Splatoon amiibo. The rest require the Raiders amiibo, which I didn't have.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

Although I started this game back around its release, so around 2019 or so, I haven't continue past a certain point, stopping at the middle of "Chapter 12: The Scattered Items", specially, before the part with the stealth Museum section. I didn't remember why I stopped there, but remembering that I still got this game to beat, I decided to play through it a bit to finish what I started.

The game, while presenting some stakes within the story, is actually not so bad. For one, you can restart when things don't go well, and the other is how you can skip the section if you failed three times. The option to skip a tough match was not used by me for the most part... except the 2D Volleyball, which I can't seem to find the way to beat it, when essentially, I do not know how to make progress with it. 2D Marathon is another one where I had trouble, but it was manageable because at least I understand how to progress through it.

Going through it, I noticed I didn't unlock everything. Certain characters were only unlocked by beating a certain part of the story, and I was surprised that Rosalina was saved for last, since surfing is the last event to feature an unlockable character. Speaking of, when Donkey Kong stepped in to compete, it got me to notice that Funky Kong was not even considered for this game, given how he's a surfing Kong.

And there's that: the final game of the Mario & Sonic series, which is fine. It has highlights, namely that characters got to dress for the sport, like how they got to wear a swimming suit, and it's not just the ladies who got this treatment. The series clearly had a reduced scope from the previous games, like how there are far fewer Dream Events where in this game, there are only three, and one of them is a generic theme (though it's still fun). The character selection would be nice if there are more standard playable characters besides the 20 that we have for many games. I wouldn't mind if the series returns, but at the same time, I think it ran its course when its existence was mocked, so perhaps if the crossover aspect returns, it could be retooled to not be modelled after the Olympics, or say, maybe a different kind of game?
