Should sonic and pacman be in mario games?

Crossovers are a fun twist......., but not to many. Brawl and the Olympics are enough.

But that game was made by namco who made PAC-MAN and they wanted to have some of their characters in it.

As awesome as a crossover platformer with the tree would sound, it just wouldn't work IMO. Especially if it is developed by Nintendo and only Nintendo. I wouldn't see any incentive to include Sonic or Pacman to the roster for Nintendo. Besides, I like it better the way it is.
