I honestly don't know what the point of that is. You don't unlock anything for it.

I like to Time Trial, it's as fun as racing. Plus, it doesn't need any focus at all.

There may not be a purpose to beating the expert staff ghosts, but it is sort of related to bragging rights.

Sometimes, you get joy from doing really hard stuff. Such as beating Event 51 in Brawl on Intense.

Yeah, me too. I got joy from getting 9999 star bits in Super Mario Galaxy after beating the game.
