Mario has my favorite personality and presence of the cast. So yeah I choose him the most, even if I do relate to Luigi, Peach, and Rosalina more.
I was a PM>M&L person for a long time, because I love playing as the species. But gameplay and dialogue wise I have to admit M&L is superior...
I feel more comfy with just she/her these days. In honor of my transitioning I'm highlighting Princess Peach this month, who growing up I've viewed as a second mother to me. Nowadays more like a sister. (Only one of us has aged through the years obviously 😂)
9/10 will buy on Blu-Ray. They blended the main series with most if not all of the sub series together in harmony, I didn't think possible.
Some my reactions/notes I remember since i saw it over a week ago..
One time Mario ate a spoiled mushroom and fever dreamed the entire 1993 Mario movie. And that's how it fits in the marioverse.
Daisy's dad represented his food poisoning.
"Hmm let's see..
Princess Peach, naughty,
Luigi, naughty,
Mario.. MOST NAUGHTY! WAH!!
Waluigi.. eh, naughty. Sorry.
He he he..
Now for a Wario.. hmm.. nice! :)
All presents to a Wario, nobody else! Losers!"
What makes current Mario games fun?
Do they stand out anymore?
As far as character and world design, I'm not so sure. Those and the artstyle are drowned out.
It seems like, what holds Mario in high regard, is that it's reliably polished coding for smooth gameplay.
Many of its competitors can't...
People like an everyday average person that does miraculous things.
The whacky world themes are inspired by a blend of well liked kids media: cartoons, fairy tales, and japanese folklore.
Think they'll be from NY or New Donk?
Personally I'd prefer New Donk as it would make the story & world lore flow smoother. But if they go with the dated NY backstory I guess that's ok..
