    sometimes you see people go 'why do people complain so much about shovelware on the wii but not other systems with a bunch of shovelware like the ps2 or the switch' and (ignoring how people often DO complain about all the crap on switch eshop), it's a lot easier to ignore shovelware when there are also tons of great third-party games on the system lmao.

    To me, signs of shovelware is indicative of a systems success. When the Wii U had no shovelware that's when I knew it was flopping.

    just saw that article about how someone beat the switch 2 version of tears of the kingdom at one of those 'try the switch 2!' events in only 15 minutes

    I do not think that person being able to speedrun TOTK says anything about the games quality. There are many playthroughs of the game on YouTube that are several hours long; one of them is even 22 hours long. When people are able to finish complex games in such a short time it has to do with having exceptional skill. However, yes I do agree Nintendo tends to overprice things.

    Speedrunning also takes hours upon hours of practice - sure the run itself can be very short but way more time went in to getting to that point

    My favorite relevant Gamer Bro thing is them not realizing that the historical notion was that programming was a woman's job...... until it was profitable and now it's a man's job and yet the Gamer men think that, after kicking women out, initiatives to recruit women to get into programming is sweet baby inc. DEI woke politically correct affirmative action SJW cultural Marxist [insert right wing umbrella buzzword used to demean pretty much anything these guys don't agree with] and they're ruining programming which in turn is ruining the Gamer toys.

    Personally as a man who completely respects women I hate just about ANY kind of sexism. Without women none of us would be here. Therefore I think it is time for the (however many) men out there who think women should be submissive servants or not have certain jobs because they think they are "men's" jobs to get over their bigotry and grow up.     i wonder if the people expecting a 3ds-like fumble with the switch 2 (tariff bullshit notwithstanding here) remember that the reason WHY the 3ds stumbled at first was because there was FUCK and ALL to play on it from both nintendo and third-parties.

    the first 'must get' game from nintendo that was something that would appeal to more than just the serious nintendo fans was mario kart 7 in DECEMBER 2011 and the 3ds launched in february/march 2011

    I feel that Nintendo wanted to ensure that the situation is better for them, when it's not just that Mario Kart would be available at launch, but another big game (with no new games in a very long time) Donkey Kong Bananza being ready in the following month.

    So it's certain that it's not going to be like the 3DS where it was expensive without a lucrative game to play at or near launch.

    I think the reason I'm not as phased by the higher prices than others is because I'm a Lego fan, and have you seen those prices?! I'm just used to extremely high prices my favourite companies charge that cause lots of controversy.

    @Stanley I actually kind of think highness or lowness of prices has often to do with quality. The more quality something is and the more workmanship goes into it, the higher it's priced. Because the more complex and beautiful something is or well-made something is, the more work and effort the people that made it had to put into it.
