And at the end of those six years they give us a microtrans-awful free-to-pay mobile game filled with loot boxes and gambling, and say, "This is the Mario Kart 9 you've been waiting for!"

Who knows, maybe they'll port it to the next console too and called it Mario Kart Tour Deluxe.

That would fix the controls at least...but they'd need to seriously tone down the microtransactions in order for me to actually accept it (better yet, remove them altogether and make it a normal pay-once game).

Much rather pay forty to sixty dollars up front for a FULL GAME with all of it's content in tact instead of getting constantly nickled-and-dimed by this free-to-play/gacha/lootbox/microtransaction nonsense, I already wasn't too comfortable with the idea of Nintendo making mobile games and rancid trash like Mario Kart Tour doesn't help to quell the growing concern.

As a fan of TES, this is pretty much par for the course.

It's standard lootbox, yes, but standard is already bad enough.

Speaking of Mario Kart, Nintendo better make one this year. They haven't made an actual new Mario Kart game since 2013. (at least Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch is way better than the crappy Wii U version)
