Awards Killing Game 2x2: Moon of Hope (Game Thread) - Day 3 - The Rat, the Bat, and the Dragon

Do the other planetary symbols do anything when the dial is pointing to them?
You spend some time forcing the sundial in the Solarium to adjust to each planetary symbol around its ring. You observe the following effects:
☉ - Starting with Sol, the 3D hologram of the Ghost Complex adjusts, highlighting the Solarium, the Space Exhibit, and the Crypt. It also shows a vision of the Sun overhead, implying the complex is being viewed during the day.
☿ - The Ghost Complex map remains, but the sun vanishes, and now a small dot in the gardens is highlighted. You also note the Studio is glowing as well.
♀ - The map remains, but now the 2F Rest Rooms is glowing, along with small dots in the Parlor, the Icy Lake, and the Hydro Generators.
🜨 - The map remains, but the four exhibits are now highlighted, as well as the Ceremonial Chamber.
☾ - The map vanishes completely, and the room goes dark with complete silence.
♂ - The map returns, placing a dot in the Pit Mine, and another very strange dot way, way beneath the map, out of bounds, on the west side of the building.
♃ - The map highlights the entirety of the Clock Tower.
♄ - The map switches to highlighting the Hollow Tree.
⛢ - The map puts dots in the Aviation Exhibit, the Rest Rooms, and Under the Ice. You note that Under the Ice is not rendered on the 3D display, despite you finding it.
♆ - The map highlights the Hydro Generator.
⯰ - The map does as before, when you scanned the symbol for Pluto.
⯓ - The final symbol on the dial appears to be that of Eris. You note a single purple dot in the Horology Studio, and in an area to the west of the Dark Lab.

Satisfied with that, I'll head outside and go to the Clockworks Courtyard, and try to see what's on the gears other than I and II

You head to the court to examine the large gears you looked at previously. You find additional roman numerals on the other large gears visible on the map. You note the following:

I - Northeast
II - North
III - Southwest
IV - Northwest
V - Southeast

Investigate the Space Exhibit. Is there a model of the Sun? Anything Sun related? Can I reach it, manipulate it, carry it, etc.? What does it look like (besides the sun obviously)

You examine the space exhibit for traces of solar system models. You note there's a Solar System painting on the wall, which describes a 3D model that can be deployed by staff of the complex, which has extra lights powered by solar.

You however recall there was code for forcing the model to deploy itself during the day. You refer to the notes previously shared from the Study, and force the model to reveal itself, lowering from the ceiling.

10 planets rotate around the central star, the Sun. The Earth model has the moon rotating around it independently. The sun shines bright, and has a symbol that looks like a bright circle with a dot in the middle of it. You note the other planets have similar, strange symbols on them which light up, and you recognise them as corresponding exactly to the ones in the Solarium.

Aside from this, from your observations, having deployed the model during the day:
The light of the model sun shows something casting a shadow from inside. It might be hollow.
Mercury is completely missing. RIP
The moon is glittering. It seems to be made of some kind of expensive metal or other shiny material.
The Earth is split into 4 pieces.
Jupiter and Saturn are the largest planets in the exhibit.
You note Eris is flashing red.

You could probably reach the model if you grabbed a ladder.

Is there anything in the studio with the Mercury symbol?
You examine the Studio. You find theres a lot of paint that's been raided over the nights, as well as a lot of canvases painted. A half torn canvas of an anime girl stares at you unblinking. She looks sad.
You pore over some more missing paint, some missing plaster... the same things disturbed earlier. You find a warning note about some of the paint containing traces of lead and mercury, which... Mona says she put there as a precaution. She taps her gauntlets to her helmet and says she doesn't actually know if they do. But she's determined to find who keeps taking so much paint!

You find that the hook which once held a fancy golden key is now missing the key itself. But, you search behind several existing paintings in the hopes of finding Mercury, and find the golden key, discarded. It seems to closely resemble the one Ratigan was carrying, albeit, not made of wood. You flash your darklight over it instinctively, and several numbers, a letter, and a symbol appear on it.

"00 32 6A ☿"

Go down to the basement and to the Ceremonial Chamber, what does the symbol on the banner look like?
You head to the chamber, and examine the banner and its mysterious symbol.

You huck the golden key into the fountain. It bubbles and boils, and the golden key is subsumed into a weird tarnished key.

You hear a loud voice going "This is your key!", and the key is tossed back out of the fountain.

Check the Ceremonial Chamber again, can I find the Earth symbol anywhere?
Also, try sitting on the throne, does sitting on it give visions at this time or only at night?

You scan the chamber with darklight this time. You find the Earth symbol on the back of the throne. It looks like this:

Additionally, when you flash your darklight back at the wall, the banner reveals more glowing, hidden markings.

Oh yes, I did just remember. We acquired an important password last night, I believe.
Head to the Dark Lab, power the device with ectoplasmic fluid, and input the password from Gadd's Log, #000024790B, and activate the role augmentation function
I'm prepared to accept the negative offset.

Something has happened!

The Portrificationiser glows, now powered by the Power/Personality realignment module.

Players can now augment their roles by interacting with this machine to grant themselves one +Positive and -Negative effect that matches their dupes.

You will receive the result of this in your test chamber.

So, we've got this dead guy in the sun coffin, dating back to... Some time in the BCE era, probably. I guess he's not in the coffin anymore. Kyeh, whatever. Anyway, strong sun motif on notice, and that makes me think. Where else have seen the sun? Pretty moon-coded facility, if my research is to be believed.

I think that hollow sun in the Space Exhibit is showing some real potential though. I'm gonna grab a ladder and smash it open with my sledgehammer. What could possibly go wrong?
