Mario doesn't really consider storytelling a priority.

Well the case is some characters that excel both popularity and storytelling aren't on this roster.

Personally, I do believe good story brings characters popularity. The investment on Illumination films sure say something about that.

it can but at the same time, not necessarily. my favorite mario character isn't the one that has the most compelling story in the franchise.

it's a fun throwaway story where they fight monsters on a remote island, on the same level as crash team racing's story of oxide wanting to turn the entire planet into a parking lot.

why can't we have fun stories.

Baby Peach is said to be one of the worst characters in the game, just like I feared she would be. ):

People say that Technical characters aren't very good in this game which means that adult Peach isn't too great either...

Should've just kept Baby Peach as a Tricky type like she was in Mario Tennis Open than make her a 1:1 copy of Peach

(I don't have the game yet but really want it as it looks great, and I'm still maining Baby Peach even if she's bottom tier)

What is the tier list looking like at the moment? (Not that it matters cause there will be a buttload of updates that ultimately change the shape of the competitive scene lol)

All I know is that Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Koopa Troopa are the top tier characters.
