Thorny. To Spiny or not to Spiny

Thorny is a Koopa that appears in Mario Clash. It's basically a Black Spiny that can only be hit from the side, this explains the 3 Spikes on its back, but what if I told you this fella is actually a Buzzy beetle aka Spike top subspecies? Well, join me while we go through
The Thorny Trails

Exhibit A

The Thorny's Dark color scheme is similar to that of a Buzzy beetles. In game it's also more compared to the Spike top despite its Japanese name saying it's a Spiny. It also shares the same aggressive behavior Buzzy Beetles have during the credits of the game

Exhibit B
For a Puzzle thingy made for Super Mario World (The Spike Tops Birth game) we see a certain Spike Top with strangely, 3 Spikes on its shell that also happens to be related to the Spike Tops. The only differences being the shell color and the direction of the spikes.

That's all I gotta say
I got more evidence but I ain't gonna spill it all now, I can tell you if y'all ask

I'm late here, but... that's just a black spiny.
Sorry... but not to Spiny. Maybe if there's an ACTUAL enemy and not just a repurposed mess, it would be to Spiny.
Also, Idk where you got the Buzzy beetles part, it doesn't look like a buzzy beetle. I'm unsure if it's aggressive like Buzzy Beetles, I've only seen Nathaniel Bandy playing it, before I started my Youtube channel.
EDIT: Replaced Spiky with Spiny

That's really because your thinking game wise
Yes it obviously looks like a Spiny
(Btw I got the aggressive part from many searches I've made studying Buzzy beetles in Mario games and concluded that Buzzy beetles are aggressive) I also said it looked like a buzzy beetle since sometimes they'd have black shells
Maybe it could be a Spiny + a Buzzy Beetle to me at the very least since the game implies it's a stronger Spike Top

wait are spinies not related to buzzy beetles?

I mean I just associated Buzzy Beetles, Spike Tops, and Spinies to all be one species, due to their similarities.

I feel like Spike Tops are the cross between the two, or that they lose spikes, get a darker shell, and gain the shadow over their eyes as the species goes.
To Spiny, I'd say

It makes sense tho
