I've been seeing a lot of mixed opinions on this one, Im still trying to decide if I should get it or not... what are your guys opinions on it if you have console?

My personal opinion is that at least for the time being, I haven't decided to get one as there have not so far been any exclusive titles for the Switch 2 which would justify the financial cost of buying a new system, and I am content with the amount of games and systems I already have.

I can't decide what you do with your money but it comes down to these factors:

1. 450 dollars is nothing to sneeze at for most people, it's a single month worth of payment for my car for example. Can you afford this, will this investment hurt your ability to meet your other monetary obligations (ie paying rent, paying for groceries, etc), have you been spending very much on other areas?
2. Will you get something from this investment? Will you enjoy the console? Will you like the console exclusives? Will you use this console's advantages it has over other systems like PC or the console competitors (like Xbox/Sony/Steam Deck)? Your free time is just as important as meeting life obligations as well, and all of us do indulge to make our lives worth living.
3. Games can also be pretty pricey, especially premium first party exclusives from Nintendo, which do not go down in price over time, and if they do, is not a substantial enough amount. They also add up. The Switch 2 is not a console for thrifty spenders unless you want to run it as an indie machine.
4. While the initial asking price is cheaper than a dedicated gaming PC (whose price depends on what you want to run with it, mine is 2000 dollars but it can run virtually anything at highest specs), think of it down the line, how long will you be playing this, and how long will Nintendo come develop another console?
5. Are you satisfied with what you already have? Do you feel the need to play the latest releases? Do you have a lengthy backlog you should go through? Do you have time to sit down and enjoy these games?

A perfect summary. Ultimately it's "do the games currently available on offer interest you enough to make the financial investment worth it", which is inherently subjective.

Heck, I don't have a Switch 2 despite having a Switch 1, because it's all been "this game is $70 interesting to me, but it's not $520 interesting to me" as of now.

do you want one and can afford to drop the $450 (or whatever the equivalent in your country is, you're in the UK right? so I think it's like £400 over there)? like when i say 'do you want one?' i don't just mean 'oh do you casually think that would be nice to have' i mean do you want one, like you can actually think of at least three games you would want to get on the system if you bought it (they don't even have to be full priced $70) and other specific reasons you'd want want other than 'be nice to get one'

(personally speaking, i would lean more towards getting it sooner rather than later because there is a non-zero chance the price increases thanks to the fuckin RAMpocalypse. not saying 'go out and buy one NOW right now. go get one NOW' but like if you are sure you want, it'd probably be best to get it before any RAMpocalypse price increases come for it. it's gonna happen sooner or later)
