How easily do you trust?

Are you someone who feels like trust needs to be earned, or do you tend to trust people until they give you a reason not to?

I feel like I align more with the latter, but I wish that weren't the case. It definitely has its disadvantages. I prefer to have my trust be earned, but when it is, I'll trust you until you give me a reason not to.

How do you feel about trust?

I guess it depends on the context and situation, but I genuinely believe most people are well-intentioned and most strangers I see on the street would like, help me if I collapsed or something, and I'd trust them to do something like that. Now, I have a general level of surface level trust, and I generally have this tendency to believe what others say to me, which at points can be to my detriment, but there are deeper things that make me more hesitant to do things that depend on trust, which includes lending money to others or exchanging phone numbers and the like.

I'm not really a very trusting person due to my own trauma. It'll take a long time for me to get to know somebody in order for me to trust them due to my cautionary procedures/ways.
