Hello there 'Shroom readers! Welcome to 2026, which just so happens to come with a complementary Issue 226! We're starting the year off right with many cool sections made by our talented and hard-working writers.

In other news, please welcome @MightyMario as our new Statistics Manager! If you want to apply for The 'Shroom, you know where to send it from now on!

Hey there! MightyMario, the new Statistics Manager here with a small message!

I wanted to give a big thank you to Meta Knight for the work he's done regarding The Shroom. I promise I will do my best to keep up the good work as Statistics Manager and that people keep applying for The Shroom!

Of course, I have to thank everybody else who's a part of The Shroom, too, from the wonderful staff to the many writers who've contributed.

With the 2025 'Shroom term coming to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the writers who helped make 2025, one of the best year in the operation of The 'Shroom; one filled with strong well-crafted sections, and fun engagement. Thank you for your time, and please know how deeply appreciated the time you dedicate to the newspaper truly is.

Now, let's move onward to the 2026 'Shroom term! Welcome to you MightyMario! I hope will enjoy the journey as the Statistics Manager. As someone who once filled this role, I can say this is great fun. :yoshi:
 
Many thanks to those who voted last month's Close Encounters of the 'Shroom Kind section into a five-way tie for Fake News Section of the Month! I'm pleased to know that people liked the section enough to have it share the silver medal with four others on the Section of the Month leaderboard!
 
There really needs to be a new criminal case file, it was quite fun seeing the profiles for villains. Also, Mind Master NEEDS to reappear sometime soon.
 
Hey, guys just wanna thank everyone for help on my first year at The 'Shroom! This year wouldn't be the same without you guys! Mainly wanna thank @Sparks, @Anton and @Commander Nebula for letting me join The 'Shroom back in April last year! I also wanna thank @Sieglinde Sullivan for accepting my guest section back in May last year! I also wanna thank @Anton and @Sieglinde Sullivan for having patience with me (when I was late with submitting my sections; trust me, I tried doing it on time)! And last but not least, I wanna thank @Commander Nebula and @Sparks for being amazing directors last year (and also this year)! Thank you all!
