KO a Character: MLP Friendship is Magic Episodes (Seasons 1-9)

i have one episode left (besides this one) in front of dragonshy before it goes so it doesn't have much time left regardless of what you do

comparing this one to the rest of the season finales is pretty funny in retrospect lol. still a good finish and has some iconic moments (you're going to LOVE ME) but it's the clear weakest remaining for me. i have dragonshy and one other 8 left and then i'll be basically happy with whatever makes it

TBNE was probably going to be my next cut, next up is Party of One; I'm not sure I'd say it's my weakest episode left other than Dragonshy, but because 1. it's already won an elimination game 2. even if it hadn't there are a few other episodes here I like more than it, and 3. it might make it if I didn't cut it. I'm interested to see how this round will finish however

party of one is my second favorite s1 episode and was in my ideal top five, but it winning a game in the past has me less annoyed than i would be otherwise

most of my 8s are already gone (tbne was my last 7) so i just have two left, and while dragonshy is one of them and will be my next cut if someone else doesn't go for it, however, there is one episode i have under it. and i feel like it's one that some people might rank higher but while it's very good and a big step up from boast busters, it's just never quite been a favorite of mine. also, i've lost episodes from my top 3 for both s1 and s2, so this cut assures that at least my top 3 for s3 are the last three standing

Hmm I knew TMPP generally wasn't going to make the round despite it being one of my favorites but I would have kept Wonderbolts Academy too, that was my sixth preferred choice but that's what it is. Everything that did make it is excellent

I knew the last place for this round was probably going to be one of two very poor Rainbow Dash episodes from Season 6, but now I will eliminate a very poor Rainbow Dash episode from Season 4. Seeing how the Wonderbolts are corner-cutters, Rainbow almost betraying her friends the way she does, and logical problems like Bulk Biceps having the role he does make this one of the show's worst episodes, especially since it dilutes more than one arc. It's too bad my first two cuts are from S4 considering how good the season is as a whole.

It's good that four of the episodes in my bottom 5 for this round are in its bottom 5, but now is the episode I would have switched one of the episodes (28 Pranks Later) out for, What About Discord?. This episode is just completely boring to me as you just see Discord and Twilight's friends stand around bragging about what he did. I will say that the moral that jealousy is normal is a good one on paper, but the way it's delivered comes across as saying not to point out your friends are bragging or you'll look jealous, the opposite moral of even bad episodes like Boast Busters or Mare-Do-Well. Like with the first four cuts however this is widely agreed to not be great so there's that

I originally hated Filli Vanilli just because Pinkie's writing overshadowed anything I liked about it by far, to the point of it being my least favorite episode of S4 and third to last out of the entire first 5 seasons. Now I'm more mixed on it because when I reanalyzed its accuracies to stage fright it does get that very well, but I still don't summarily like it because of Pinkie. It would have probably been the last 4/10 episode to go for me, as like with NSP I don't agree with it placing as low as it did but that doesn't mean I think it deserved to place great in its own right

Next up I'm cutting Tanks For The Memories, I know like with FV DPDOMS or NSP this is an episode that at least is notably less disliked than some of the episodes cut so far in that at least some people like it instead of almost no one, but this episode felt awkward because it's supposed to be an "allegory for death" episode but the whole time Tank is hiberating which everyone knows, yet Rainbow keeps acting like he's about to die and becomes desparate to the point of sabotaging winter.
