Well the nominations were announced a week ago (No I'm not one of those people who wines about diversity). What do you think will win, should win, and what do you think should have been added if you believe there are some snubs in each category?

i'll get to who i think deserves the win when i've actually seen enough of these movies, but as of now, my predictions, with second choices in parentheses, if I think it's a close call

Best Picture - Spotlight (The Revenant)
Best Director - George Miller (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu); honestly this is a huge toss-up and pretty much impossible to predict
Best Actor - Leonardo DiCaprio
Best Actress - Brie Larson
Best Supporting Actor: Sylvester Stallone (Mark Rylance)
Best Supporting Actress: honestly who fucking knows, Kate Winslet????
Best Original Screenplay - Spotlight
Best Adapted Screenplay - Room
Best Cinematography - The Revenant (Mad Max: Fury Road)
Best Animated Feature Film - Inside Out; i highly doubt the other academy members would even know what any of the other movies are
Best Foreign Language Film - Son of Saul (Mustang)
Best Documentary - Feature - Amy (The Look of Silence)
Best Animated Short Film - World of Tomorrow
Best Original Score - The Hateful Eight
Best Original Song - the fact that see you again didn't get nominated disqualifies all the others from even deserving to be mentioned
Best Sound Editing - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Sound Mixing - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Production Design - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Makeup and Hairstyling - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Costume Design - Mad Max: Fury Road
Best Film Editing - Mad Max: Fury Road (The Big Short); the big short had pretty obnoxious editing, but it was very obvious editing, which gives it a chance
Best Visual Effects - Mad Max: Fury Road (Ex Machina)

to sum it up: academy members don't know shit about technical categories so they'll probably just give everything to mad max (not that im complaining), and pretty much everything is a complete tossup
 
Okay this race is going to be tough because The Big Short just won the Producers Guild Award. So as of now it's between The Big Short, Spotlight, Mad Max and The Revenant.

Am I the only person who doesn't have a problem with the editing? It felt like an hour and 45 minutes for a two and a half hour film.
 
I predict a white person will win that I won't watch and will have no idea who wins even after someone tells me.
 
If the Academy is not gonna nominate See you Again, they better at least get Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa to perform the song after the memorial sequence.
 
I don't even really like see you again that much but I would take it any day over earned it.

The Weeknd has one good song and the rest suck. Earned It is not the one good song.
