Story description: The Smash cast will be brought together to compete in a football league to help save a galaxy in danger of losing everything. Additional game characters guest star.

CHP1: Gathering






Within a galaxy far from any other was a place of immense ferocious competition. Fortred the ruler of the planet Quifeza observed in dismay as his all-star football team the Shreds were subjugated by the defending champions of a rival planet. They were known as the Flame Wolves. The score ended 17 to 51. The game was his team's last chance at the playoffs. So many things went through his mind, but what unsettled him most was he put the entire planets currency on the line. In other words forfeited his entire planet's reserves! He was approached by the coach of the rivaling team.

"Your team isn't awful, but we could have detained them to only three. We wanted the fans to have somewhat an enjoyable game here at your home stadium. You have a year to get all of your planets fortunes to Cosbo." Phelm spoke.

The two went their separate ways heading to their individual locker rooms. Players from the winning team got interviewed on the field. Fortfred gave a long agonizing speech to his players, before leaving the dome sooner than usual. He traveled over to a large capital building, where the globe leaders assembled. He entered the room to see that everyone already anticipated his arrival.

"You don't have to inform us Fortred, we saw the ending result. We just need to know why you thought it clever to put this planet's future in jeopardy! You took a huge gamble and lost!" One said.

"Do you think it smart to sacrifice this planet over a team game?! You're out of your damn mind! Did you really think the Shreds had a chance against the champions?! Come to life Fortred, this planet has the seven worst teams out of all planets in this galaxy. Now what are we supposed to tell our people?! Our teams cannot compete with any of the top 15, and you put everything on the possibility of them beating the best!

Over thirty different people sat at the long table, in opposition back and forth! Fortred finally shouted over them getting everyone's attention. He took a seat at the end of the table with crossed arms.

"I know I messed up big, but I think there is a way I can renovate this. I want you all just to listen in and don't ask any questions until I am entirely finished."

The room was soundless as he spoke. There was not much a choice, which led to all agreeing with his bail out arrangement.



Days later



One of the greatest heroes acknowledged by the people of the mushroom kingdom walked through the castle. He gazed around at the various different photos lost in his bottomless train of thought. The moment however was short lived.

"Mario, Mario get down here! I think we might have a problem!" Toad shouted.

The Plumber ran down the many stairs, looking out a window. His eyes broaden to see what seemed to be a multitude of unknown creatures.

"Stay here, I'm going out there to see what this is all regarding."

Toad grabbed Mario by the waist keeping him from going.

"Do you think it's the princess they are here for?"

"Don't know, and won't find out just standing around. Stay here; I'm not sure what their intentions are."

Mario pulled his arm from Toad's grasp exiting the front entrance. The plumber looked around, staggered at the magnitude of the colossal grouping. He took a few steps forward as two of them drew near. They stopped in front of him. Mario shook a bit uneasy.

"Don't be fearful human, we come in peace. In fact we need the aid of you and numerous others, so listen very carefully. Before I continue further I need something established. Are you the ingenious Mario?" The being asked.

Mario gulped bewildered and fascinated on how the individual knew his name.

"Mamma Mia, how'd you know that?! What are you creatures?"

"Your query will be answered in time, but for now we have incredibly significant information for you. We come from a planet called Quifeza, and currently right now our planet has suffered in many different ways. To get down to the point, our prime problem is the money! We almost have none left, with that said our people will give out given the fact we won't be able to trade with neighboring planets."

The plumber looked up puzzled, wondering exactly why this information was being given to him. The piece about the trading with other planets confused him further.

"I don't see how this is my problem, I couldn't help even if I wanted to. By the sound of it your planet has lost over trillions and trillions of a coins! Not even the Princess would be able to assist you. Can't your neighboring planets, help somehow?"

"That is not how things work. The leaders of each planet don't help unless getting something in return. We have nothing to supply. We basically have nothing left. But there is still hope."

"I'm listening."

"I'll try and make this brief, but the planets in our galaxy are all for competition! Particularly sports, I'm sure you are familiar with the sport called football. Anyway, this is the only chance we can make the massive bucks. Do you follow?"

"Not exactly." Mario replied.

"We need sixteen teams put together. Just so you are not confused, I am talking about the NFL style football. The citizens of our galaxy would pay large amounts to see teams compete with each other from another world. That sport is most popular amongst most in our galaxy."

Mario jumped back putting his hands in front of him.

"Woooohh hold on a sec, I don't play that form of football! Tennis, Kart racing, basketball and lots of other things but not that. Do you understand what you're asking of me, it's a waste of time? Go find someone from your home planet, or someplace else. The sport itself is terrific, but why have you come to me? My answer is no"

The alien life forms were quite for a little while before continuing.

"What if I told you we have spoken with Donkey Kong and Bowser, who have both agreed to take part? I believe you are associated in one way or another with the two."

Mario crossed his arms looking up at them. A small smile escaped his face.

"If'a Bowser is taking part than you can count me in as well, but you must explain to me further how everything is going to work. How is sports going to get your planet back up, do you know how insane that sounds? And how am I supposed to trust you beings?"

"Trust me Mario, it will work. I will tell you some of the small details you will need to be familiar with. Since you have agreed to join, is there a precise position you'd like to play? I know you haven't really taken on this sport, but each team will be given eight months to prepare. Of course there will be a tryout evaluation session that'll take place."

"I'll go through this process and then decide from there." Mario replied.

The Mushroom Kingdom's hero was stunned by the latest development and wasn't sure if the group could be trusted. There was something shady about them, but for the time being decided to go with the flow.

"A stadium will also be built for each team. Each selected captain/Quarterback will chooses where it will be built. Our experts can put them together within three weeks to a month. Be sure to notify your brother about these proceedings. You will be able to put a team together once all participants are on our planet. We will be back in five hours, be sure to meet us in this exact spot."

With those words, a huge space ship shined its luminosity over the aliens. They were zapped into the ship. Mario turned away for one second, and the space shuttle was gone. Toad ran out of the castle, standing next to Mario. He thought hard again, trying to figure how they knew who he was. He had a bad feeling they might even be plotting to capture the princess. Donkey Kong, and especially Bowser didn't seem likely they'd agree to such terms from space aliens.

"So what is it they want?" Toad inquired.

"I'll explain when Luigi returns with the princesses."



Many dimensions away


A Lombax worked on the vehicle of a civilian. A large quantity of energy formed in the sky as a huge space shuttle appeared shooting a huge radiance down onto the grassy meadow. The alien creatures were now on a planet called Veldin. The aliens walked over toward the Lombax working on an automobile near an edifice site.

"I take it you're Ratchet?" One of them asked.

He stepped from behind the vehicle, surprised to see mysterious beings.

"Yes I am. How can I be of assistance?"

"We would like you to join a huge sporting event. I hope you are familiar with football!"

Ratchet listened as he was given the information. He was skeptical, but decided to join in an attempt to help. Just as Mario didn't fully trust them. The aliens decided to split into three different space ships to cover more ground quickly, leaving the planet afterwards. Another portal opened over an island where an orange bandicoot snoozed under a tree. An additional Bandicoot lifted weights nearby. The bandicoot dropped the pounds as the aliens approached.

"Are you Crash bandicoot?"

"No, that's him over there. Is there a message you'd like me to give him when he awakes?"

"I guess that makes you Crunch, you will also work well for what we require."

He was given the proposition, and agreed to their offer. He spoke for Crash and himself. Worlds away in a hefty city, lasers were fired back and forth. A wolf jumped up with two blasters in his hands shooting at a Fox who returned fire. The Fox jumped behind a wall considering his next move. They'd been going at it for quite some time and wanted to end things sooner rather than later.

"What's going on down there Fox? Do you need back up?"

"Don't worry about me Krystal, I want you and Falco to battle the enemies in the sky." Fox replied through his communications mouth piece.

A portal formed in the sky getting the attention of both Fox and Wolf. A light from the ship shined in front of them both. The aliens appeared in a flash with both Fox and wolf aiming their weapons at them.

"There's no need for that, we aren't looking to battle Fox McCloud and Wolf O'Donnell."

Wolf was astounded unintentionally dropping one of his blasters. Fox lowered his weapon, interested to see what they had to say.

"We seek your support, which includes you both. I have been doing this for a while now, so don't ask any questions until after I've finished."

The same information was given to them, just as numerous others. Both Fox and Wolf stood in place speechless. That was until a chuckle escaped Wolf's mouth.

"I don't know who you take me for, do you seriously think I would devastate my schedule helping a dull species like you?! What you have asked of me is merely for boy scouts, enough said."

"Did I indicate there will be a lot of money involved, for teams with exceptional records?"

"Who do you think I am, you just got done saying your planet doesn't have much left." Wolf replied.

"You don't pay attention much do you…some of the money we get from the spectators will go toward your compensation. The people from the surrounding planet of ours will be the one's attending your games. They will also be able to watch from their homes."

Wolf crossed his arms while lively.

"I think I might be interested in this, how long do we have to make a decision?"

"I need an answer now. And if you say no, well then you'll be forced to take part and we don't want that."

Both Corneria fighters were soundless as the moment itself became intense! Fox stepped to the side, contacting one of his teammates. Not even a minute passed as Falco descended his vehicle onto the ground. He joined by Fox and Wolf. The leader of the Star Wolf team called off the attack, enforcing his pilots to retreat.

"Can either of you tell me what this is all about, shouldn't we be attacking Wolf and his crew Fox?! What have the two of you decided to take a break?" Falco asked a bit agitated.

"Quiet down Lombardi, these creatures have a promising proposition for us all." Wolf spoke.

Falco stood as the information was given. His eyes narrowed at some of what was said. Nevertheless did not back down from a challenge. He was the first of the three to agree to their terms. Both Wolf and Fox agreed to it shortly after.

"I guess we lost track of time, which will change things a little bit. I'm going to ask the three of you come aboard our ship now."

A laugh escaped Wolf.

"Do you actually think I am that irrational to do such a thing? I don't think so." Wolf replied.

"I understand that you are concerned of your wellbeing, but I can assure you that none of you will be harmed in any way. We must take you all back to our home planet, which is where the draft will take place."

"What is the draft?" Fox asked.

"It is what will be the method for putting all sixteen teams together. But the evaluation process must take place first."

The three of them agreed long as they could carry their weapons aboard. Krystal as well as panther joined them before entering. They did not return to their home planet immediately, the alien life forms continued traveling the many different galaxies recruiting participants. The process lasted for what felt like hours. It was then they returned to their home world. The many different chosen recruits touched down on the planet of Quifeza, on different spacecraft's. Tiny Tiger stepped out of a ship, looking around to see what appeared to be hundreds of different inhabitants. Dingodile stood right behind him, as the alien race led the enormous group into a large dome of some sort. The many participants started conversations amongst each other. A familiar blue hedgehog stood within the crowd, among a group of his allies. Mario was amazed at the amount of people within the space; several hundreds of recruits were present.

"I can't believe how much this place is packed, wow this is getting me excited!" Sonic glimpsed around.

Knuckles stood next to him, with his arms crossed.

"You don't seem too excited. We must have lost Amy and tails in this large crowd." Sonic looked at Knuckles directly.

Knuckles did not reply, as someone stepped onto a podium in front of the crowd. The person picked up a microphone, as everyone quieted down.

"I would like to take this instant to thank you all for coming, as you know our survival is in peril. I will not go through all of the details on how we got in this position, all you need to know is we need each and everyone's help in this showground. This event will consist of 16 teams, with fourteen regular season games. There will be four teams to a division."

Everyone listened as the rules and regulations were explained.

"Before we begin the main event, I want to inform you all of a few things. There will be twenty cheer leaders to a team, and you cannot purposely commit fatal hits on the field or you will be fined. If you can all look around in this dome, we have set up one area for each position. Go to the area of the position you would like to try out for. Granted you will eventually be rotated into all in the course of the next two days. We will assess each of you in depth and see what position best suits you."

Each individual headed over to the area of his or her interest. It took over twenty minutes before everyone was completely in place. Sixteen alien beings stepped onto the stage/both sides of the announcer.

"Before we begin I would like to introduce myself, I am Fortred known as the leader of this world. I would like to introduce you all to Fred, Joe, Chris, Hec, Ken, Dan, Wiley, Mark, Jay, T.J, zelph, Carter, Ralph, Greg, Tim, and Frank. These will be the owner of each franchise. It will be a gamble for them all, as none of you are players of this sport. That is why there will be eight months of training camp, once you are on a team. And just like any team sport, if you are not wanted, you will be traded. If there are no more questions, the evaluation process will begin now."

Galaxy Ball

Chp2: The draft






Someone approached Fortred whispering into his ear. Whatever it was seemed important, resulting in the nod of his head multiple times. He cleared his throat putting the microphone up to his lips.

"All individuals within this dome that aren't interested in on field positions can ignore what I am about to say. You can apply for cheerleading or other organizational positions to a specific team when drafted. As far as those that are, the position that you currently stand in will not positively be the position you will play. You will be evaluated in each position before and during training camp, after you have been selected to a team." Fortred said.

Everyone listened quietly as he continued.

"Before the draft begins would like to look you all over and let the owners determine which individuals they'd like to draft and at which position. This will also give our team owners a better understanding of each and everyone's physical endurance. That way they will have a less difficult time selecting. Our residence here is massive with more than enough rooms which each and every one of you will be assigned for the next two days."

Those not interested in on field positions remained in the large space, as Fortred directed everyone else outside onto six different fields. They started everyone up with running laps from the 10 yard line to the 30 and back a couple times over.


2 days later


Fortred had the participants spread out on both sides of the field. Outside the premises some were escorted onto an enormous meadow. Once the groups were put into different lines, a football was placed on the ground in front of each individual that stood at the front of each line.

"I want you all to listen closely. The first exercise we will be revisiting is how far each of you can throw a football. We will also be looking at your posture and style, so please do put forth effort. I don't want any of you throwing a ball until your name is called, we will begin shortly."

It wasn't much longer that the event began. A large machine was set on the field, its function to record how far the ball traveled through the air after touching down on the turf. Getting through the first Thirty Eight participants the furthest thrown ball was for just twenty five yards. Fortred's sport staffers were dissatisfied.

"We better start seeing something better than this!" One staffer shouted.

He looked down at his sheet calling up the next contestant.

"Up next is Link, from Ordon village."

The Hylian stepped forward stretching his arms before bending down and picking up the ball. He focused in, practicing his throwing motion. Link took a few steps back releasing the football! It was a moment of silence as the ball gliding through the air with a perfect spiral. Link's heart rate increased watching the ball zip down its path. It finally touched down far up field! The sport staff members all looked to the score board immediately, along with the many standing in line. Link's eyes widen to see his score flashing on the board. He threw for Sixty Seven yards!

One of the staff member's slammed his clipboard to the ground.

"Now that's what I'm talking about! I want you all to give it up for Link!"

Most everyone applauded the Hylian who just grinned scratching at the side of his head. The individual recovered his materials from the ground as they continued on.

"Next up we have Vector the Croc."

Vector threw for just Twenty seven yards. The day progressed on as many showed off their throwing skills. Link's throwing distance was eventually surpassed, as Donkey Kong threw for 78 yards! Many others showed good potential at the position of quarterback. After some time, the sport staff members began moving people into different groups. Using their stats and information from the exercise, they kept only sixteen participants out of the large group that showed the best potential. The sixteen of them stayed within the quarterback practice session. A group was created for every offensive and defensive position. If someone didn't do well in a group, they were sent to another.

"Well, you must be the lucky sixteen!" A representative said laughing, "But Hey after being drafted to a team your position could still change."

He glimpsed over the papers on his clip board, looking at the group of participant's information.

"I'd say by the looks of it, all sixteen of you have secured your spot at the quarterbacking position. Each of you threw for at least forty yards or more, with good balance and technique. You guys did much better than most everyone else. And as I said before, remember that your spot can still change in training camp, but if you all are consistent and perform like you did today, you will be just fine."

The group was given time to introduce themselves amongst each other. Some did not require doing so already knowing one another.

Mario walked over shaking hands with Sonic, remembering him from the couple Olympic Games both took part in. The two were approached by Ratchet, who introduced himself. Luigi joined his brother's side. The environment was pleasant and looked forward to what the future had in stored for them.

"This should be extremely interesting Mario, I had no idea we would end up on separate teams. Regardless of that, it will be enjoyable if I have the fortune of playing against you bro." Luigi said.

Sonic placed a hand on the back of Luigi.

"Don't worry pal, I'm sure this entire event will turn out to be a grand experience," Sonic replied looking to Mario, "And competing against you again will be a joy if that happens."

Both the hedgehog and Mario felt the same. Captain Falcon started a conversation with Jak and Link. It wasn't much longer the group was given more drills to go through. Throughout the elongated pasture, the different groups continued to work intensely. As time went by an hour turned to hours! All groups were eventually summoned back to the dome. That time each individual was directed to which area they would sit. Fortred reentered shortly after everyone was settled into their position.

"Now that we have seen you all in depth with forms of exercise and football drills, the draft is ready to begin. We will start with first round picks." Fortred informed.

The majority of the mass applauded Fortred as he left the stage. The team owners looked over the information of all the participants. The dome was enormously soundless. A set order in which each owner would select had already been determined. Hec looked up from the papers, making a decision.

"For my first pick, select Knuckles the Echidna at the running back position."

Knuckles was beyond shocked to hear his name announced first! A good portion of the participants cheered for him, before going silent again. Wiley was the next to make a choice.

"For my first round pick, I select King Dedede at the Linebacker position."

The process continued for an extensive period of time, as each franchise owner continued selecting players to their teams. This left some of the participants displeased, given they were being separated from friends or family. It took another few hours before the entire process was complete. Something that was clear for some teams, was being short a few players. Fortred stepped back onto the podium.

"I'm sure you are all thankful that is over, now the fun itself will begin in another few days. I understand that a few teams are short players, but that will be fixed within training camp. To end this day, I would like all team captains to come up here on stage."

The individuals did as they were told, and were directed to their franchise owner where they came up with team names and location of each individual squad's stadium. Everyone else sat around waiting as the preparations were taken care of. The team names and locations were quickly selected. Fortred stepped forward informing the rest of the participants of the updated information.

"We will give you all time to say your good byes to family and friends, as you will be returning to the planet of where your team stadium will be constructed." Fortred told.

The participants took the time to do just that. Coco bandicoot spotted Crunch within the area of the running backs. She walked over getting his attention. Crunch turned at his name being called.

"I just came over to wish you a safe voyage, as you should already know Crash and I will be together." Coco informed.

"I'll be just fine. Still find it hard to believe Crash made it at the Quarterback position." Crunch replied with a laugh.

Coco thought about it for a few moments, before laughing as well. Mario walked through the crowds spotting and walking to Princess Peach who sat beside Daisy. He took a seat next to them both putting an arm around Peach.

"Too bad neither of you will be teammates of mine. Oh well, I'm willing to bet this whole thing will be fun."

Peach could hear the disappointment in his tone, turning to him with a grin. She leaned over kissing him on the cheek. The action caused him to blush, Peach noticing and giggled.

"Don't worry Mario it will be just for a little while. After all this is over things will go back to how they were. I originally figured I'd just join the cheerleading squad, but then I thought hey why not try out for another position and see what happens. Well for now at least I'll be playing Cornerback." Peach informed.

The plumber talked with the two for a little while longer before departing ways. It wasn't much longer all participants were gathered, and put on separate space shuttles that took them to the appropriate destination. The space ships blasted into deep space. Within a shuttle, Jet the hawk sat next to Captain Qwark.

"I understand that you are going to be the quarterback of this team, with that said you better be a darn proficient one. I only agreed to join this thing to help out these people, and to win. So when it comes game day, don't go out and throw the game away for us. And of course they said money would be involved, and the better the team the more green!" Captain Qwark said with excitement.

Jet's eyes opened as he looked over at the individual.

"I don't believe we've met, and already are trying to tell me what to do. I'm someone who is all about competition, so you don't have to worry about anything."

Jet turned away closing his eyes again.


Planet Ireigiel


The offensive coordinator of the Flame Wolves entered a room sitting down. He was awaited by a group of persons. Cosbo sat at the other end of the table.

"Congratulations on your win over the shreds, a few days ago. I would expect that Fortred's council will be sending payment soon. But that is not the reason I called you all here tonight. We have somewhat a problem." Cosbo spoke.

He directed his assistant Elisa to his desk. She returned throwing a few folders atop the table. Cosbo opened one of them and had his assistant pass out the papers inside. She did it fairly quickly.

"As you can all see, we're losing viewers to our sports station. But it should be an easy problem to fix. I'm sure this is because of the Slaughterer Crows, Flame Wolves, Ogres, Blizzards, and Clash Predators. They are the only teams as of late winning championships. Viewers are getting tired of it."

Cosbo discussed with his staff a way to resolve the problem. A great distance away, a ship landed within the enormous city of Corneria. After all the passengers exited, it took off into space. Falco Lombardi, being the only one accustomed with the city led everyone to the closes hotel. All checked in except one. Tiny Tiger didn't carry money, leaving only one choice. Falco decided to take the big cat home. It was a decision he wasn't fond of but had no other choice. Pulling a device out of his pocket, used it to call out an Arwing to his position. Falco turned to Tiny as the vehicle drifted to the ground in front of them.

"Let's just get one thing straight; when we get back to my place I don't want you touching anything. Hopefully we are clear on that or might have problems." Falco informed.

Tiny patted Falco over the shoulder smiling showing his prickly teeth.

"No need worry, Tiny not touch a thing."

Falco looked down at him with a frown, making it clear he was serious. Something about the big cat seemed off. Both hopped into the vehicle, as Falco took off into the night sky. They arrived at his place promptly. Getting out of the vehicle Tiny looked around, and was pleased with what appeared to be Falco's weapon's arsenal! There were missile launchers, blasters, many different types of grenades and weaponry! Falco opened a door, which led into the central section of his residence. Tiny was again enlightened by the way things were set up in this space.

"Wow who she, Tiny in love." Tiny Tiger asked, looking up at a picture drooling.

Falco looked over at the picture.

"Oh her…that's Katt. Guess you could say she is somewhat a friend of mine." Falco replied.

"Maybe you call her, see if she join our cheerleading squad! Please, that be real treat?!" Tiny begged.

Falco attempted to say something but stopped. Thinking about what Tiny said, came to a realization wouldn't be such a bad idea.

"I think we might do that, but for tonight should get some rest." Falco replied.

Tiny followed Falco into the living room, which had lots of furniture and a long black leather couch. Tiny leaped onto the couch sitting in front of a big screen T.V. Using the nearby remote but had lots of trouble turning it on.

"If you need anything Tiny just let me know, I'm going to be working on something upstairs." Falco informed.

He didn't like the idea of leaving the big cat alone but just shrugged the thought off. Tiny nodded as a form of response. Falco flipped on a light walking up the stairs. Significantly far away a ship touched down on the field of Hyrule, just outside Ordon village. The passengers exited as the shuttle returned to Quifeza. Link explained to everyone not familiar with his village how things worked. After doing so, most participants set up camp at the exterior of his village. The Hylian looked over at Princess Zelda, who stood next to Princess Peach.

"You should probably try and cover your features a little bit, if any of the villagers knew the princess of their kingdom was here in this village could become chaotic." Link implied.

Zelda grinned wrapping a scarf around her head, and over her hair. He was absolutely right, and didn't want to take the risk.

"Luckily this will be for only a night. I'm going to take Princess Peach back with me to the castle tomorrow. Did they say exactly where the stadium will be built? It's not really that important, it's just so I can inform the kingdom choice makers it was my decision." Zelda asked.

"I just told them somewhere on Hyrule field, about two miles from the main city." Link replied.

Everyone camped outside of Ordon village, except Link, Peach, and Zelda. Out of the whole group, Banjo and King Boo didn't mind. Not trying to alert any of the villagers, Link directly led both women up into his treehouse. Zelda looked around, only to see one bed. She gazed over at Link, placing both hands on her waist.

"Not to be rude or anything, but you only have one bed?! How is this going to work?" Zelda questioned.

Link looked over at what appeared to be a moody Zelda.

"Don't concern yourself. The two of you can sleep in the bed while I take the floor." Link replied.

Zelda took off the scarf, and Link perceived the relief in her expression.

"Thank goodness, I thought you were going to say something else." Zelda responded.

Peach giggled getting the attention of them both.

"What's so funny?" Zelda asked.

"It's nothing really," Peach chuckled somewhat, "Just listening to your back and forth could see you as a married couple." Peach said giggling some more.

Link smiled whilst Zelda frowned.

"That would never happen. I am a princess of royal blood. My bride to be will be of a royalty. He is nothing more than a mere peasant errand boy." Zelda said.

Link's heart slightly dropped at her words, not that he wanted to be with her or anything. Trying to escape the situation Link decided to go and get them all something to eat leaving the tree house. Peach turned to Zelda.

"I think you may have hurt his feelings, personally I think he's really cute." Peach said.

Zelda took a seat on the bed laying back.

"You shouldn't worry, I'm sure he's fine." Zelda replied.

Within subterranean space, Fortred's inhabitants continued to search for participants to fill the spots they were short. Some being starting positions and even backups. The group was very successful in their mission coming across many individuals. They came across Princess Rosalina giving her the opportunity to join a team as the leading cheerleader due to her gorgeousness or another position of her choice. She was updated on why the event was accruing, and given the option of joining. Looking down on the paper, recognized a familiar name and smirked! She decided to join the team of interest. How things would play out from that point would be a wait and see.

CHP3: Training Camp






Three weeks passed with each team training vigorously within their arenas. Forted sat inside an office alongside the rest his council, discussing details relating to when they'd broadcast their event to other planets. After talking it over decided to set up a press conference. Fortred went around informing everyone.

Podj Island

A stadium had been built for a team called the Seals. The players went through different routines on the practice field. The ball was snapped to Crash who stood under the center handing off to Funky Kong, but stopped immediately by a defender. It was the third day into padded practices, and while Crash wore a red jersey everyone else wore silver. It was used as a way to distinguish the team captain from everyone else. The defense anticipated the previous play coming up the middle with a blitz. The play resulted in a loss of six yards. A defender helped Funky Kong to his feet, afterward both players returning to their positions. The ball again was snapped to Crash, taking a few steps back. He looked down field for his Tight end, a Goron from Hyrule gunning the ball into his chest! The offence picked up thirteen yards before the player ran out of bounds. Funky Kong Looked around at everyone's jersey's which looked to be over twenty years old and tattered.

"Can't wait till they provide us with our actual attire when game day begins in another seven month's or however long we still have! Hopefully our team logo doesn't look screwy." Funky Kong Whispered into Crash's ear.

The bandicoot replied by just nodding. Crash wasn't one to speak much but had certainly made new friends if nothing else.

"Alright everyone, we are going to run one more play before we send you all on break." The head coach spoke.

Crash had difficulties with the communications piece in his helmet, and had to walk off the field getting the play from the offensive coordinator. When done returned to the field. At the line of scrimmage Crash sent Skid Mcmarx in motion. The ball was snapped to him as the defense came with a full force blitz! The Bandicoot looked up field and was hit as he threw. Skid jumped making the catch but was too high falling incomplete. The coach stepped out onto the field.

"I want you all in the locker room within the next ten minutes. I have something important to update you all on. Afterward we will return here for some exercises. There is another formation I'd like to incorporate into our practices."

Most players headed directly to the locker room.

Dream Land

The Bleach Brothers were another of the sixteen teams. All players stood in the locker room suiting up. All got ready taking the field afterward. They went about their business quickly as possible. When on the field, players set their helmets to the side. The head coach walked around with a clipboard making certain that all players were on the field, calling off each name. The process finished in minutes with minimal delay.

"Alright gentlemen before we begin our normal practice will start with some cardio. I want you all to be in top shape, so when training camp concludes will scamper through our contesters!"

The group was sent running laps from the end zone to the fifteen yard line and back. They continued doing so for minutes, switching to different workouts after time. One player slowed down getting drowsy. The coach noticed and had the entire group go even longer.

"As a whole you all did very well, don't worry as we continue to exercise you will get stronger and in proper shape. Over time it will get easier, I'm just pushing you all hard so that you will be ready! I would like to create a playoff team here in Dreamland. If you work hard we can do just that."

The players listened to their coach speak aloud. After he was done gave the group a break before the official practice began. The offensive players proceeded to the field with their helmets ready to begin. Waluigi gazed at the plays strapped to his arm. He called his team into a huddle.

"This should be an automatic completion if you all do your part. This is going to be play HG4, a screen pass to Kirby. I need you players on the line to do a good job, unlike the last few days. Their blitz packages are something we need to overcome." Waluigi said.

The huddle was broken with the offensive players getting into position. The defensive players joined them on the field shortly after. The ball was snapped to Waluigi as a group of defenders ripped through taking him down. The defensive coordinator applauded his defense. Waluigi was helped to his feet by Vector the Croc. The Offensive players followed Waluigi back into the huddle.

"As I said before, I need the line to hold up longer. This time we are going QS2, I want all receivers up field. If they are thinking, the defense will play cover two."

The huddle was broken as each player returned to his proper position. Waluigi took the snap and instantly saw the blitz. Waluigi ran to his right trying to avoid another sack, but grabbed from behind as he released the ball. The pass was intercepted but the defender didn't get far tackled by an offensive lineman. Waluigi shook his head aggravated. He again directed his team into a huddle.

"We as the offence need to start putting something together, this defense has been destroying us for the past couple days now."

Waluigi looked at the plays on his arm band, choosing yet another play. The offence got back into their positions. But Waluigi picked up the blitz before the ball was snapped to him. He sent Kirby in motion. The instant the ball was snapped, Waluigi moved around in the pocket looking up field. His line held the defenders long enough for him to launch a rocket! The ball zoomed out soaring into the air, with an almost perfect spiral. Kirby was alone with the closes defender a good five yards back. With much concentration the pink being jumped making the catch! He ran for another fifteen yards before leaping into the end zone and celebrating. A smile appeared on the face of Waluigi very pleased with the play. It was a completion of 47 yards.

"That is what happens if you blitz us too much, eventually they will be burned for it. Just like this play." Waluigi told Vector.

The Croc smiled ecstatic with the play. Kirby returned down the field only to be taken off to the side. Another receiver was put in, so he could rest up after the long completion.

Hyrule Field

The team known as the Legends trained hard on the practice field. Link walked off the field and over to the offensive coordinator. The Hylia put his arm up, pointing to a specific play on his arm band.

"I like the route Banjo runs this play, but we have both seen his speed and think his route should change. The other receivers are fine, but I believe we should make adjustments to this play, so we can hit Banjo up field a little further." Link suggested.

The coordinator opened his play book, looking for Play S1. He found it after flipping through a few pages, and looked it over. Glimpsing over at Link pulled out a pen.

"I definitely agree with your request; he is a very fast and quick individual. You will now need to throw the ball to this point. The two of you just need to get the timing down."

Someone approached Link from behind tapping at his shoulder pad. He spun around looking directly at Coco Bandicoot. She'd originally been drafted to the Seals but a trade was made for her in exchange for an offensive guard. It was her first day of practice with her new team. She left behind Crash but was now with Crunch. Outside of him wasn't familiar with anyone else.

"I'll do what I can getting up to speed on everything. I don't think we properly introduced ourselves, I'm Coco." She extended an arm.

Link shook hands with Coco giving off a smile.

"Great to have you aboard, you'll surely add depth to our wide receiver core."

Both put on their helmets jogging onto the field. They got into their positions. Coco looked across the way staring into the eyes of the one assigned to guard her. It was none other than princess toadstool/A.K.A Peach. Based from what the coaches had been saying was the team's most athletic CB to that point. Coco gulped getting into her stance. Link stepped back into shotgun formation yelling out to his offence noticing something familiar from the defense. The ball was snapped to Link, who handed off to Crunch. The bandicoot found a hole to run through, lowering his shoulders and was taken down by two defenders. The play resulted in a gain of seven yards. Moving up to the new spot Link took his offence into a huddle.

"Good work so far today, you have all done fine. Let's try play av5." Link said, looking down on his arm band.

The offence returned to their standpoints. The ball was snapped to Link, faking the hand off to Crunch and looking up field. He punt faked to Banjo looking to the other side of the field where he had a player open. Stepping up threw the ball putting a lot of zip on it. King Boo made the catch, but pushed out of bounds after a gain of seventeen yards. The Offence moved up the field as they continued. The ball was snapped to Link, with defenders coming at him from all directions. The pocket collapsed as Link ran forward, stopping in place. Just before the hylia could get rid of the ball was brought down by Peach on a corner blitz!

"Gotcha." Peach said softly sitting atop him

It seemed as though they were in that position for several seconds.

"You gonna sit on me all day?" Link inquired.

"Oh sorry." Her cheeks turned red as she pushed up helping him to his feet.

Before practice could continue a guard from Hyrule ran onto the field. No one knew for what reason, but talked with the coach in private. Afterward Peach was called over to the sideline, joining the two.

"Your practice session is done for the day, Princess Zelda has summoned you to the castle." The Coach informed.

"For what reason?" Peach asked.

"She didn't go into details but requested I escort you back ASAP." The guard replied.

"Ok, let me just get out of all this first." Peach replied.

She removed the helmet from her head undoing the bun she'd tied her hair in, letting it fall. Peach waved to her teammates as she headed into the ladies locker area not far away. After undressing departed with the guard.

Practice resumed shortly after everyone getting into their positions. The first play from scrimmage caught the defense off guard as Link launched the ball into the air! Banjo was double covered running into the end zone all three players jumping for the ball. Surprisingly Banjo came down with the ball! Link and the rest of the offence were delighted, by his great effort. Banjo along with the defensive players walked down the field returning with everyone.

"Wow Banjo that was an amazing catch. You sure do have good hands." Coco said.

Banjo walked over to the hylia, patting him on the shoulder.

"Couldn't have done it without the tremendous pass from him." Banjo replied.

The three smiled together. The head coach walked onto the field.

"Before I send you all on your thirty minute break, we're going to practice the two minute drill. It is quite apparent you are able to put away a game when on top."

Players on both sides of the ball got into their spots, getting ready for the exercise. Nearly an hour later Princess Peach enjoyed a hot bubble bath within Hyrule castle. The princess looked to the ceiling thinking about her kingdom. It bothered her not knowing if everything was ok. Her thoughts were interrupted as someone knocked at the door. She slid up revealing the upper part of her body.

"Who is it?"

"No need to panic Princess Toadstool, I'm just a messenger sent from the central entrance. I'm just letting you know Princess Zelda will be returning to the castle within the next five minutes."

"Ok, thanks."

The guard left afterward. The Princess finished shortly after, stepping out of the tub drying off with two towels. She wrapped one over her hair, and the other around her body. Making her way out of the bathroom felt refreshed, leaping onto the bed. She laid back gazing upward. It wasn't long before the door to her room opened. She looked up with Zelda standing in the doorway. The princess stepped through letting the door close behind.

"Hope you're enjoying your stay here in Hyrule thus far. The cheerleading practice will commence this evening if you're interested we could overlook it together. But the main reason I summoned you from practice is we're having a huge dinner down in the diner; lots of special guests and what not. I wouldn't have a woman of your status miss out on such an event. By the way how's this room been suiting you?" Zelda asked.

Peach sat up looking at her, as the two smirked.

"Just perfect, plenty of space and a great view of your kingdom through that window. I couldn't ask for more. Oh wait I've been meaning to ask what role you've played in all this? I mean with the whole sporting event?" Peach asked.

"Oh yeah, I guess I never told you. Well of course I'm not taking part on field, and cheerleading isn't exactly something I take part in. I discussed in depth with the league owners running this and in ways am a VIP to the Legends. I've been given free access to the stadium when it's completely built, and any team activities if I so choose. But enough about that, let's get you dressed."

Zelda led Peach to a closet where she could pick out the best dress for the occasion.


Down Town

Station Square


A stadium had been constructed and built for the Speed Dodgers. Special shoes were provided for Sonic, Shadow and anyone else who possessed over the top speed by the league! It slowed them to a playing level of almost everyone. Even so were still the fastest players on the field. The practice was already midway through and had gotten a lot of work in. Sonic handed the ball off to Samurai Goroh who ran up the middle breaking tackles. He was finally taken down after a gain of twelve yards. The offence moved up getting in position again. The ball was snapped to Sonic. A blitz was brought by the defense but the line held. That gave Sonic time, punt faking to Shadow and throwing to Dimz his tight end. They picked up nine yards. Sonic took his offence into a huddle.

"Nice job everyone, I especially want to give credit to the line you guys are giving me loads of time to do things. Anyhow let's go with RL2.0, I smell the end zone. These guys are probably expecting us to try and pick up small yards." Sonic said.

The huddle was broken as the players got into their spots. Sonic sent one of his receivers in motion taking the snap. The hedgehog stepped back looking up field whilst grinning. He bulleted the ball into the air with a flawless spiral. Shadow out ran everyone with the closes defender ten yards behind. Shadow looked over his shoulder, making the catch running into the end zone for a 51 yard completion. Lots of defenders shook their heads over the blown coverage. Shadow returned down field with the ball.

"Great catch pal, couldn't have done it better myself." Sonic told Shadow.

The head coach came out onto the field, informing the offence to practice the hurry up pace.

"This should be fun, I'm all about speed." Sonic added.

Both the offensive and defensive players got into their positions. The ball was snapped to Sonic who ran to his right, seeing nothing open tossed the ball to his running back. Samurai Goroh picked up over four yards. The hedgehog got his players to the line. The ball was snapped to him Again. Sonic gunned the ball in the direction of Shadow, but a defender knocked it away. Sonic had the ball snapped to him, but a defender came in untouched taking him down for a loss of three. The hedgehog got up instantly shaking it off.

"Watch for the blitz guys, we can't afford to give up yards." Sonic said.

Sonic signaled for the ball receiving it immediately. The Hedgehog scuttled around within the pocket but one of the linemen fell over as two defenders came through. Sonic made a run for it given the breakdown in protection. He dashed off to his left where there was a great deal of green grass in front of him. Sonic picked up fourteen yards before sliding down.


Isle Delfino


A football stadium was built for the Ultra Bros. It came down to the Mushroom Kingdom and or Delfino and the paradise vacation spot was ultimately selected. Mario ran around in the pocket trying to get away from pressure, but was sacked by Petey Piranha for a loss of 8 yards. Petey helped Mario up as both returned to their positions. The ball was again snapped to Mario handing off to Storm the Albatross. Petey Piranha came from the right side taking him down for a loss of three yards. The entire defense applauded the plant for his great effort!

"I can tell you this for sure when it comes to playing the many teams in a few months; Petey will really be a difference maker on defense. He has been making big stops for the last few days."

The defensive coordinator talked with the head coach. Mario decided to take his offence into a huddle.

"Mammia if we want to get something going, I need at least two guys blocking Petey. He is just too disruptive."

Mario discussed with his linemen what he wanted calling the play afterward. Heading to their positions, Mario felt more confident. He took the snap, stepping back a few yards. The defense came with a blitz. Mario slid to his left, looking up field. Petey and another defender broke through the line coming after him as he stepped up throwing. Yoshi made a perfect catch fifteen yards up field, but not taken down immediately as a defender missed the tackle. The dino ran for another ten yards before he was brought down. It resulted in a completion of twenty five yards.

"That is more like it, but aside from that we have one tough defense." Mario said.

Shy Guy shook his head agreeing. Just then someone emerged from up the hill pacing over on the sideline and received whistles from several players. She sort of just ignored their advances taking a seat on a bench licking at a chocolate cone.

"Hey, hey that's enough gentlemen!" The head coach yelled.

All players moved up the field to the where Yoshi was stopped. Mario signaled for the ball stepping back a bit. He found Yoshi, launching the ball into his chest. The Dino made the catch but was taken down by Petey and another defender. They only picked up five yards on the play. The head coach shouted on the sideline getting everyone's attention.

"That will be enough for now, head to the locker and go get cleaned up. After you're done meet with I and the rest of the staff in the team facility."

Everyone did that except Mario. He walked over sitting next to the woman on the bench. He took off his helmet as he did so.

"What are you doing here, shouldn't you be resting up that ankle? How is playing safety by the way?" Mario asked.

"It's enjoyable actually, being able to observe much of the field from the back. By the way you've been doing very well Mario, I mean taking command of the offence and all." Rosalina said.

Mario grinned giving her a hug.

"That is 'a really nice of you. I will see you at the hotel on Sirena beach. I need to go get cleaned up." Mario said.

"Ok see yah later."

The princess took another lick of the cone, watching Mario head to the locker room.


Corneria


It was somewhat a cloudy day in the city of Corneria. The team known as the Lylat Birds, practiced on an open field. Falco Lombardi was drafted as the team's QB and had done a splendid job up to that point. He leaned under center taking the snap, having no receiver open and dumped the ball off to Knuckles the Echidna who picked up two yards. The players got back in position, with the ball snapped to Falco again who handed off to Tiny. The tiger ran over the defenders picking up Twelve yards before running out of bounds. Falco headed up the field with the rest of the players. Immediately took his offence into a huddle.

"We don't have much time left in practice. This will most likely be one of the last play so let's make it count."

Falco looked down on his armband, making a decision. Back in their positions, Falco took the snap. He looked up field to see the defense playing man to man coverage. Looking for his 2nd receiver Espio, threw into double coverage! It was caught but had the ball dislodged out of his grasp by a linebacker.

Galaxy Ball

CHP4: Training Camp PT 2






Over three months and a few weeks passed. The sun levitated over Yoshi's island awakening Jak. He sat up on the bed stretching and could feel pain throughout his body. This was due to the training within camp. Out of bed got dressed, and saw it was 5:35 am in the morning looking over at a clock. Feeling very restless exited the room heading down a staircase and into the kitchen. Jak poured himself a bowl of cereal sitting at a nearby table. Someone entered the room sitting next to him. He looked over to see one of his teammates.

"How are you doing this morning Gloshi? I couldn't sleep so decided to get an early start. After I'm done eating am heading out to the stadium for some morning warm ups. The others should be there by six forty five." Jak said.

The dino picked up a nearby magazine, looking through it.

"Guess I'll follow you out, besides I know our coach is already at the stadium planning our practice for the day."

Gloshi stood from the table, walking over to the coffee machine brewing himself a cup of it.


Bomb-omb

Battlefield


The players got suited up within the locker room. Afterward were guided to the field by their team leader. The players were ordered to run across the 100 yard field twice. The action prepared them for what was planned for the day. The offensive and defensive players got into their positions, determined to make it a good practice. Koopa Troopa took the first snap but tripped over a lineman trying to sustain his stability. He plummeted back for a loss of 4 yards. Blooper helped the individual up. Koopa Troopa took the snap running to his left throwing up field but was intercepted by Zieuk! The defender brought the ball back fifteen yards before taken down. The pressure was applied up front by Bowser. Koopa Troopa shook his head at the mistake. Zieuk approached the little turtle.

"Dare you to throw my way again, next time I'm taking it to the house."

The words from the cornerback brought trepidation into the petite turtle. Both players got back on their sides of the field, ready for the next play. Koopa Troopa took the snap handing off to Blooper who ran to his left. Blooper took a few players up field six yards before taken down. Koopa Troopa looked down on his arm band finding a play that would get them yards. Moving up the field the ball was snapped to him. With an audible Shift got rid of the ball. Metaknight made the catch picking up 16 yards.

Veldin

Ratchet sat on the sideline geared up and waiting for the practice session to begin. The Lambox drank a special energy drink, looking at the bright sky and grinning. There was not a single cloud within the dazzling azure atmosphere. Setting his helmet down, Toad took a seat next to Ratchet.

"How's it going Toad, glad you came my way I need to discuss something with you."

Ratchet shifted his body a little.

"I need you to stop having short arms. When you do that are going to have lots of incompletions. And what I mean by that is whenever you hear footsteps approaching from any direction tend to not reach out, I need you to ignore approaching defenders and make the catch." Ratchet said.

Toad understood what he needed to improve, but at the same time wouldn't be easy. Ratchet placed a hand on his teammate's shoulder.

"There's no need to feel down, I know it might take a little time. Besides for the most part, you, Clank, Talwyn and Rick Wheeler have been terrific."

It wasn't much longer Ratchet and Toad were directed to the field alongside everyone else. The first play Ratchet handed the ball off to Paratroopa who was very quick on his feet. The turtle ran up the left sideline picking up four yards and a few inches. Ratchet playfully hit Paratroopa on the shell after the play. Ratchet signaled for the ball, taking the snap. He took a few steps back, looking up field for something big. Finding what he wanted stepped up throwing, which was caught and then dropped by Rick Wheeler.

Ratchet took his players into a huddle.

"Listen up all of you; we are going with the Ye3/ the coaster Wheeler option. We have about a sixty percent chance of throwing them off, and if we do should make for a good gain. One of you bone heads better not mess this up."

Ratchet gazed over at a few individuals with a glare in his eyes. Once at the line Ratchet sent Rick in motion. As he took the snap all receivers raced up field. Punt faking to Rick, Ratchet caused the defender guarding Clank to fall. Ratchet took the opportunity throwing to his open receiver. Clank leaped into the air making the catch and running off into the sideline. Ratchet smiled moving up the field with his offense.


Corneria


Falco stood against a wall with both his arms and legs crossed. He observed footage showed to him by Hec, the franchise owner. The ace pilot studied a single player on the screen. That player was Tomler/ the quarterback for the Slaughterer Crows.

"Do you expect me to play the position of quarterback similar to this guy? That's just something I'm not interested in doing." Falco said.

"I'm not asking you to imitate him exactly, but do however want you to study him. He is arguably the best Quarter back within this galaxy's main league. When opening game day comes, I want you to be top three in this league of sixteen. Play from the pocket and you will do just fine."

Falco decided not to respond, watching Tomler's posture and style. Outside the room and on the practice field Tiny Tiger sat on a bench. A Goron from Hyrule sat beside him. The two watched the team's kicker practice kicking field goals. Tiny picked up and opened a play book next to him. The Tiger flipped through a few pages before stopping.

"Tiny like this formation, defense has hard time stopping when in. Tiny hope lead man don't have us do many exercise."

The tiger talked with the Goron who was an offensive lineman. The two looked just in time to see the kicker make a fifty seven yard field goal. Together the rest of the players entered the field from the locker room. Falco also returned to the field, with Peppy Hare an assistant to the defensive backs coach. Peppy was slowly but surely learning the details of the sport. Tiny jumped up running over to Falco.

"Can we run hurry up first, please?! That best way Tiny get warmed up."

Falco looked at the energetic Tiger.

"I'm sure that won't be a problem, but you will have to take that up with the head coach. He decides what we will and won't do."

Tiny and Falco joined the other offensive player in a huddle. Falco glimpsed down at his selection of plays, waiting to see what the team would commence with.


Cool Cool Mountains


It snowed severely which was why the practice session was moved to an inside facility. Luigi sat in a lounge built for the players sipping on hot chocolate. Fox MCcloud sat on a nearby couch alongside two others watching T.V. They flipped through a few channels and stopped at the sight of someone familiar. Fortred stood before a huge crowd of different beings. He waited for the commentators to quiet down before speaking. Dozens of photos were taken of him standing before everyone.

"I'm glad to see you have all come for the announcement of an upcoming event. I would like to make this short and sweet so will cut right to the chase. All citizens of each planet will have the pleasure of attending the football games, of sixteen new teams that will compete against each other!"

Throughout Fortred's announcement laughing ensued within the crowd. It didn't take long for him to finish speaking. At that time many hands rose having questions. He selected a person to speak.

"Not to sound like an idiot or anything, but this is completely preposterous. No one will pay money to see unskilled players engage in games against each other."

Fortred answered many questions only to be criticized more and more. Daisy entered the lounge getting everyone's attention.

"Coach has ordered we all return to the inside practice field ASAP."

Fox crushed a Pepsi can, standing to his feet.

"Obviously the critics aren't expecting much, guess it's our duty to give them a performance they won't soon forget." Fox said.

All players exited ready to take care of business on the field. Luigi put on his helmet leading the offensive players to their usual sideline. The group waited for the offensive coordinator who didn't take long.

"Before we begin I would like to say I am proud of the offensive line, for helping with better pass protection in these last few practices. But would like to see improvement in the area of opening holes for the running game. We haven't done well there, besides that have all done exceptional."

The coordinator set down a simple plan for his offence, before led onto the field by Luigi. The defensive players were on the field not long after. Luigi sent Daisy in motion signaling for the ball. The plumber punt faked before handing the ball off to Wario, who managed only a pickup of one yard. Luigi then sent his number one receiver in motion. Taking the snap ran to his left, looking down the middle of the field was Fox MCcloud. The defense played man to man. Luigi launched the ball downfield. Fox made the catch over his left shoulder in stride. Outrunning everyone made it to the 10 yard line before stopped.

"Somehow we need to shut that Fox down, whenever they get the ball to him is always picking up huge yards." A defender complained in frustration.

All players jogged down where the play ended.

"That was a good catch and run Fox, I thought you were gonna go the whole way." Luigi said.

"It doesn't always work that way, but you can always look to me for a huge completion." Fox replied.

Both players traded smiles getting back into the huddle. Setting up the screen Luigi took the snap. Luigi threw to Koopa in the end zone for a completion. The defense was totally thrown off by the play.

Venom

Wolf O'Donnell walked down a hall within the stadium coming across a soda machine. He inserted a couple coins, recovering a Cola. Feeling another presence behind, jumped a bit startled.

"No need to be frightened dear. I haven't had the chance of introducing you to a friend of mine. This is Mia she's part of the cheerleading squad."

"And I am supposed to care? She shouldn't even be here. The practice for her squad isn't till later in the day."

"You sure are rude, she was looking forward to meeting you in person."

"Psshh, we have practice in a few. See you on the field…Rouge the bat." Wolf said.

Wolf walked passed both not saying a word. Both females turned to one another.

"He sure has a grouchy personality." Mia said.

Wolf entered the locker room getting into his pads and whatever else just as everyone in the locker room. Different conversations ensued throughout. Wolf suited into his gear and out onto the field. He walked over to the defensive coordinator.

"Glad to see you're up and around, so how is that right shoulder of yours?" The coordinator asked.

"It's actually quite fine, just dislocated it yesterday. I will be able to perform at one hundred percent today." Wolf said.

Wolf warmed up throwing the ball back and forth to his tight end. The two did so until the remainder of players and coaches came onto the field. The players warmed up stretching and jogging on the field. Afterwards each player got into their positions. Wolf yelled to his line picking up a blitz from the defense. Wolf received the ball and taken down by King Dedede before he could hand off to dry bones. Dedede helped Wolf up.

"Damn it's going to take three of us to hold Dedede! This guy is a born natural brute." An offensive lineman complained.

Wolf took the snap, taking three steps back. Dedede came from Wolf's left side with two linemen falling over smashing into the quarterback's side. This led to a fumble which Rouge recovered running to the opposite end zone. Wolf got up brushing himself off.

"It's a good thing I won't have to play against Dedede and this defense, when it counts. They will be a huge part in this team's success." Wolf murmured.

Rouge returned up field with the ball in addition to the offence starting over. Wolf took the snap, keeping his attention up field and nowhere else. The pocket held for a little while, but a few defenders came through. Three defenders got a hand on Wolf as he released the ball. It was caught by Boshi up field for a gain of eleven yards.

Kongo Jungle

The Primates practice extended longer than usual trying to adjust plays and formations. The temperature was at 79 degrees, with a little light rain. Candy Kong sat at a bench on the side with Kiddy Kong watching the players practice.

"Watch for the deep pass to Koopa, make sure that turtle is double covered. While you do that, the front four will try and burry DK into the dirt."

The defense got themselves organized aiming not to let the offense get anything. Donkey Kong took the snap moving around. The line held the defenders trying to come through. Donkey Kong threw to Dixie Kong who was unable to make the catch. Hearing footsteps from her backside had a lot to do with it. DK immediately tried to get the ball off to Koopa but was intercepted. Donkey Kong leaped forward in an attempt to tackle the individual but the defender just jumped over him. The player was eventually taken down by the left guard.

After the lengthy press conference, Fortred and his team of experts began putting the schedules together.

"Listen carefully, remember to put some of our elite teams here in the planet Quifeza on the teams schedules. Just choose them at random; this will be a good way to see just how good the teams are in this new sixteen team league." Fortred said.

Galaxy Ball

CHP 5: Training camp Pt3






Additional months passed and was only days before the event's opener. Small news within the league include the Lylat Birds picking up Charizard at the defensive end position. Coming off of their fifteen minute break, Ike took his offensive players to the field.

"While we wait on everyone would like to take this moment to congratulate you all." Ike set his helmet down. "It's been a real pleasure working with this group, and come Sunday in four days we'll show everyone we're the team to beat!"

The offensive players listened to Ike's speech getting them wild up and ready to play. The owner of the franchise came onto the field surprising everyone. He was hardly ever seen by any of the players.

"Just letting you all know Fortred and the league has released the official schedules for the season. Your first game will be against the Reindeers, but you will be traveling to their stadium." The owner told.

He gave a few copies to Ike, who handed them out to his teammates. It wasn't much longer the coaching staff along with the defensive players entered the field. The head coach got the attention of everyone.

"I know you're all really excited for what's coming up shortly, but we need to take advantage of these two last days of practice."

After a few words the practice session started up.


Down Town

Station Square


Taking the delayed handoff was Samurai Goroh running up the middle and turning. He tossed the ball back to Sonic. The hedgehog stepped up throwing a flea flicker. Shadow located the ball over his shoulder but bumped helmets with Tibeo another receiver. The two plunged to the ground and gazed at a defender making the interception. Shadow was swift jumping up and stopping the defender from gaining any yards. Sonic laughed a bit as the players came back down field.

"What's so funny?" Shadow asked with a slight frown. "Sometimes I just don't understand what goes on in that little head of yours."

The Blue Hedgehog didn't reply. He let out a sigh getting everyone ready for the next play. Sonic lined up in shot gun formation, with an empty back field. He signaled for the ball a few times, receiving it belatedly. The defense played in a cover 2 zone. Taking a chance Sonic threw across the field into traffic where the ball was caught by Dimz his tight end. The play resulted in a gain of thirteen yards.

"This will be a quick slant, keep the D moving." Sonic whispered.

Sonic took the snap finding an open receiver up five yards throwing to Bram. The individual couldn't quite pull it in, resulting in an incomplete pass.


Hyrule


The sun levitated over the kingdom with temperatures over 73 degrees. Link returned from a morning walk to his tree house. He climbed up the latter giving Epona a quick look. He was indebted to her, being so helpful and loving. After doing so made his way up the full latter. Once inside grinned at the sight of a sleeping Banjo. Link set the bag of stuff in his grasp onto the bed. The honey bear snoozed in a sleeping bag on the ground. Link bent down patting Banjo over the shoulder awaking him.

"Sorry to disturb your sleep, but is almost time for us to hit the road." Link pulled the bag off his bed. "I even brought some breakfast for us before we head out."

Banjo yawned sitting up looking around the room. He and Link decided to take the food to go. The Hylia and Honey bear departed from the tree house, climbing down the latter. Link hopped onto the back of Epona, whilst Banjo sat atop another barrowed horse from the castle. Epona led the way with Link, but Banjo didn't trail too far behind. They crossed a few miles on Hyrule field before reaching the stadium. The two entered leaving the horses outside.

"By the sounds of it, I'd say we've arrived early." Banjo looked down the long quiet hall. "Guess it's better than late."

"That's for sure, last time someone was late turned out to be a hectic practice." Link replied.

Advancing down the hall and turning a few corners, the two came across cheerleaders hanging around in the lounge.

"What're you two doing here this early?" Banjo and Link looked over at Hena who spoke. "Don't you guys have another forty five minutes before practice?"

Banjo remained silent looking over at Link.

"We just felt it necessary to get a head start on everything this morning." Link said, a bit edgy.

His tone caused many of the females throughout the room to giggle. As a reaction Banjo became nervous, but strived his best not to show it. A door opened across the room, taking the attention off them. Entering was a wet Princess Peach wearing a towel around her body, and another wrapped in her hair. She jump startled at the sight of the Hylia and Honey bear!

"No need to panic, we were just leaving. Come to think of it what are you doing here so early?" Link questioned.

"You don't have to leave, sit down." Peach ignored the question walking over to a sofa and taking a seat. "Don't be a stranger I won't bite; besides we've gotten to know each other pretty well over the past few months."

"The two of you can discuss whatever it is you want, I'll be in the training room." Banjo patted Link on the shoulder. "See you in a bit buddy."

Link could hear through Banjo's tone knowing he used the situation as a way to escape. Banjo exited the room as Link subsequently took a seat beside Peach.

"Don't think I ever brought it up during our practices but, how's it been staying in the castle with Princess Zelda?" Link set his hand on the sofa's surface. "I've only really seen her on a few occasions until this event came up."

"She's really nice, but can get moody when it comes to making decisions for this kingdom. That reminds me of myself, we are much alike in some ways but so different." Peach replied.

The Princess moved closer to Link placing one hand over his. His comfort dropped, feeling his throat go dry.

"It must be somewhat stressful being the team captain in all. But you handle the position perfectly, and you will do just fine. I have yet to intercept one of your passes in practice and am angry about that." Peach pouted.

Both laughed together, looking forward to the season opener.


Cool Cool Mountain


Fox MCcloud sat in a back room on a computer typing. A door from his backside opened with Luigi and the head coach entering.

"How's our best receiver doing this afternoon?" The coach asked.

Fox didn't answer immediately until putting in his password and hitting enter.

"Doing just fine, since we have this day off from practice thought I'd take the time to check up on some things." Fox clicked into his inbox.

The coach placed a hand on the shoulder of Fox.

"About that, I need you and Luigi to get suited up in the locker room and meet me out on the field. It'll just be the two of you. A handful of players are miles from here snowboarding. I'll explain everything when you get out there."

The coach exited the room leaving Luigi and Fox.

"Here I was thinking this was going to be a day of relaxation…Huh there's always work to be done." Fox said.

"Don't worry we probably won't have to do much." Luigi replied.

The two exited the room walking down the long hall to the locker room. They suited up in their pads helmets etc. Luigi slipped his arm band on last, containing the important offensive plays.

"So what's your guess of what our official uniforms will look like?" Luigi asked excited.

"No clue, but everything will be revealed tonight. Just hope our team logo is fierce, the franchise owner did however reveal to me which number I will be wearing." Fox told.

"What number is it?"

"Eighty one." Fox replied.

The two of them wasted little time departing from the room. Fox led them to the field where they were greeted by many. Cameras and all sorts of reporters were present.

"Before the two of you begin will tell you what's going to happen. These people are part of Fortred's organization. They have been observing the practices of every team for the past months. A handful of players caught their attention, and you're one of them Fox. So what is going to happen is, Luigi is going to throw you a series of routes."

"So basically they're taking an even closer look at me, gotcha." Fox concluded.

Luigi shook hands with some of the reporters.

"So how did your institute come up with the schedules for each team?" Luigi asked.

That was explained to Luigi by a young woman informing him each team had division opponents to play twice in the season. The prime time matchups were determined using what the observers saw from each team's practices. Those which impressed most were slated for primetime. Fox and Luigi headed onto the field to commence. Fortred stepped forward introducing both Luigi and Fox to two players of the Shreds. One a CB and the other a safety.

"These two are players from one of our planet's better teams. They will also take part in this little session."

Each player stepped into their positions with the CB lining up opposite of Fox and the safety over the top ten yards. Luigi sent Fox in Motion, giving him the signal to run. They went through different curl routes, fades and slants, with Fox making all catches except for one. He also beat the safety deep on a deep post making a one handed catch! The groups on the side line took notes.


Isle Delfino


Mario benched pressed in the training room wearing tan pants and a sleeveless shirt. Also present in the facility were several defensive and offensive players, including Yoshi who worked on a machine aimed toward increasing speed and endurance. Petey Piranha lifted weights. Outside the stadium many Piantas, Boygeys and Tanooki's purchased tickets for the opening game that would kick off in the coming days. Vacationers also purchased tickets.

Some distance away Rosalina laid out on Sirena Beach in a bathing suit. Some of the cheerleading squad was also present. One of them rubbed sunscreen on her back. They laughed and talked about what they'd done the past months.

"Would you ladies like something to eat or drink?" A Pianta asked approaching with a tray.

All ordered the islands finest smoothie. He took the order walking off and back into the hotel. Behind them appeared Storm the Albatross. All noticed right away.

"What brings you here, aren't you supposed to be with the rest of the guy's preparing for tomorrow?" One asked.

"I ah uhm," Storm was lost for a couple moments. He couldn't quite remember why he returned to the beach side, but came back in an instant, "Just forgot my good running shoes in my hotel room and had to come back. Saw you all hanging around, and just thought I'd say hello."

Storm turned to walk off but was tapped on the shoulder.

"When you do get back to the stadium, could you tell Mario I think he is very adorable? I wonder if he would give me his number."

All laughed except Rosalina who almost rolled her eyes, Storm just grinned.

"Make sure you give him the message. Tell him it's from Angela." She said seductively.

"I ah don't know what to…I mean sure no problem, I'll let him know. Tomorrow is a big day, and I must be going now. You ladies have a nice rest of the day. Hope you've been looking over your play book Rosalina, tomorrow is when it starts to count." Storm said.

She nodded whilst remaining on her stomach. They all waved as he trotted off. Angela laid back, resting her head on the upper part of Rosalina's leg.

"So are we gonna go through the opening routine any more today." Someone asked.

"Yes of course, we must be fully prepared for tomorrow." Another replied, as Angela ran her fingers through Rosalina's hair.

The Princess was one of the players but at the same time had made quite a few friends in the cheerleading squad. Whenever there was down time, tended to hang with the group. As storm entered the front entrance to the hotel wondered how Jet and Wave the Swallow were doing on their respected teams.


Veldin


Ratchet ran across the field dodging defenders with spin moves but quickly brought down. Due to not having an open receiver downfield took off. He was helped up by Toad.

"That wasn't too bad a play, but did have Rick Wheeler open for a second on the cross route." Toad said.

Ratchet patted Toad on the helmet getting back in their positions. Taking the snap the Lambox moved in the pocket waiting for something to develop up field. He threw to Talwyn on a left slant. She gained sixteen. With the next play, Ratchet took the snap handing the ball off to Paratroopa who found some running room up the left side. He picked up decent yards before stopped.

A great distance away fortred discussed the big event with his council.

"Tomorrow is going to be a big day. By the looks of it have already pulled in some nice numbers with pre ordered tickets, especially in that of Corneria, Station square, and Dreamland! Other stadiums have not fared so well. But as this event goes on the inhabitants of each land, city and world will jump aboard I am sure." Fortred said.

A door to the room opened with two others joining them at the table.

"Good news sir, we've got the transportation set up for civilians of the surrounding planets of ours to attend games of their choosing."

"Excellent, now have a seat this meeting is far from over," Fortred stood passing papers to everyone, "Let us discuss the huge interview we have for the public this evening."

Everyone at the table dropped ideas, arguing back and forth before coming to a consensus. It was then they moved on to the next set of business.

Galaxy Ball

CHP6: Game time






After numerous hard fought months of training the day arrived where dreams would flourish or shatter. Each franchise was set to try and be the best, but could only be one crowned champion in the end! Fortred spoke before many news casters and critics, mounting to hundreds. The pressure was definitely present but couldn't show weakness or panic. It was just thirty minutes before the opening kickoff to the first set of games!

"So Mr. Fortred how did you and your team of experts decide which teams would play in prime time games such as the Monday night game tomorrow between the Legends and Mushroom dashers?" A commentator asked.

Fortred stepped forward clearing his throat before speaking.

"As you should all know we have been keeping a close eye on all sixteen teams through camp. So using what we observed to be the best performers is how we put the schedule together." Fortred replied.

"Do you truly believe you will attain viewers tuning in, or even attending these games? Let's face it, this is a bunch of amateurs playing against one another?"

Fortred shook his head as more and more discourteous comments were yelled out. Regardless of what the media said were many spectators already in the stadiums of the games about to begin. No one knew if it was for the excitement and or hype for the event, or maybe just curious to see how the whole thing would unfold. Not just that but many sat at home watching.


Port Town


The sportscasters sat in a booth distance above the stadium, getting settled in. The camera's recorded them as they talked about the game.

"Behind us is the Big Blue stadium, named after this city. And today will be the F-Zero Brutes against the Dragons who have a very hard hitting D from what has been said throughout training camp. C-Falcon might have a long day if their running game doesn't show, The Dragons offence is nothing special based on what's been said but has a good set of schemes."

"Don't mind if I get in Allard just wanted to add this game will likely be decided on which team has the fewest mistakes. Neither team has an explosive play maker such as some other teams we've seen. In about another minute or two the players should be taking to the field."

Allard and Ken continued to entertain viewers watching at home as the F-Zero brutes stepped out of the tunnel and onto the field to the roaring fans. Captain Falcon came out last sprinting across the field smiling as some got up on their feet cheering.

Corneria

Tiny Tiger sat on the sideline staring down at the logo on the side of his helmet grinning. He was very happy with whoever designed the team jerseys and overall uniform. The one in charge did a magnificent job! They received the official gear only two hours before the game. Tiny looked up with a pounding heart as the ball has been kicked off! The Lylat Birds won the coin toss and elected to receive. Tiny stood to his feet as the ball was caught by Troshi the punt returner. The dino didn't get far leveled at the nine yard line. The time had finally come and couldn't believe it; so many nerves and feelings surfacing at once. The audience let out a loud roar at this. Troshi was helped up by one teammate.

"Alright this is it, all our hard months of training must deliver. Just remember your assignments, don't worry about the other guy next to you." Falco said trotting onto the field.

He tried getting his offence wild up, but could see most were incredibly tense. Falco couldn't blame them. It was the first time they would play in front of billions! Even with the pressure most on him, only excited him further. The crowd was thunderous and could hardly hear a thing. None of them imagined the atmosphere would be so electric! Even Knuckles was somewhat thrown off feeling his heart race, and was rare for someone like him. Falco took his offense onto the field to face off against the defense of the Blood Hounds. The audiences at that point were astoundingly deafening.

"Remember all together we're one mind, one spirit and can accomplish everything, now let's put together a drive that will leave them stunned." Falco shouted to his offence.

Some could hear and others not so much. The intensity was felt among those watching and the players alike as the huddle broke. Falco, Knuckles, along with Tiny Tiger wore black visors over their helmet's face masks. Lombardi moved up under center readying himself for the very first play. The ball was snapped to Falco handing the ball off to Tiny who ran to the left, but ripping through the line was Dedede dropping him for a loss of 2. The crowd booed as a result. The next play was quickly run as Falco again handed the ball off to Tiny gaining only one yard trying for the other side.

"Well now it's 3rd and 11, if the Lylat Birds do not convert here will be forced to punt, and what a way for the Birds to open their first home series like this, what a shame." A commentator spoke.

Falco stepped back into shotgun formation signaling for the ball and receiving it. A corner blitz was brought by the defense. King Dedede came from one side and a Goron from Hyrule on other. Falco stepped up throwing the ball into the chest of Redy the red Yoshi who ran a cross route. A defender missed a tackle allowing him to pick up three extra yards. The play resulted in a gain of sixteen. The appreciation was felt by the cheering crowd.

"Well the Lylat birds only needed eleven yards but picked up sixteen, and can see just how much potential Falco has as a quarterback, he put that one into tight coverage and under pressure." A commentator said.

Throughout the huddle nerves amongst the offensive players settled somewhat, picking up their very first 1st down. The Lylat Birds stood on their own twenty four yard line. Falco took the snap moving around in the pocket running to his left. Dedede smashed through the line coming after him and as the big penguin blitzed into Falco launched the ball deep! It soared up field down the right side where Espio was covered by just one defender. The ball dropped down with the defender knocking it to the side, but jumping over and making a one handed catch was Espio! The defender grabbed hold of his waist trying to pull him down but tumbled and fell. All he could do was watch as Espio ran the remaining yards into the end zone!

"Touchdown Espio, wow Seventy six yard completion! I knew coming into this game, this player could have a big game!"


Station Square


"The weather is great down here in Station Square. The temperature sits around Seventy eight degrees with a light rain. The Speedsters won the coin toss but decided to differ, which means the Speed Dodgers will receive the ball. The most asked question coming into this game was who would have a more explosive day between Shadow the Hedgehog or Bio Rex."

The commentators continued collaborating in the booth with the offence of the Speed Dodgers entering onto the field. Sonic looked around the stadium noticing that at least 60% of the seats were occupied in the massive stands which wasn't bad for a start. There must have been over thousands of Spectators looking down on them Sonic thought! That didn't bother the hedgehog much, as he loved the attention.

"It's time for us to give them all a show, let's not disappoint guys." Sonic told.

The crowd noise wasn't nearly the volume Corneria had, but the excitement was felt. Taking the very first snap Sonic felt his heart skip a beat as he pitched the ball back to Samurai Goroh. He took off at full speed to the left trucking over two defenders, being tackled after a gain of seven. With the next play Sonic took the snap taking several steps back observing the field. Moving around in the pocket threw the ball watching as it was caught by Bram running a quick slant. The team gained eleven yards, and on their own forty two. Next Sonic worked out of Shotgun. The hedgehog took the snap faking to Samurai Goroh and spinning while looking up field. On the left side of the field his tight end Dimz was wide open, but decided to go for something much bigger launching the ball deep! In stride was Shadow double covered with two defenders on both sides, looking over his shoulder and locating the ball. All three stopped at the last second knowing the ball was thrown a bit short jumping for it. A huge pause was felt throughout the stadium as the Hedgehog came down with the ball. He was tackled immediately! Amy Rose jumped up with joy on the sideline barely able to contain herself.

"Oh Sonic, he's so amazing!" She said with desire in her eyes.

"Wow, are you kidding me! This defense seems to be asleep; they don't have an answer to stop this offensive power house. I still can't believe Shadow went up and made that catch, those defenders stand at around 5"9 and 5"10 while Shadow is barely passed 4'7. All I can say is this individual has hops, but we have to give credit to Sonic who put the ball right in the middle, or else that ball would have been intercepted."

The audience was loud with much thrill, watching as the Speed Dodgers moved up onto the 25 of the Speedsters.

"Nice catch Shadow, for a moment was worried that play would end in disaster." Sonic congratulated his teammate as they returned to their positions.

While under center Sonic handed the ball off to Samurai Goroh who ran up the middle for three yards. On 2nd down Sonic took the direct snap running from the pressure brought on by the D. He threw the ball with it caught by Shadow for a gain of 13 on a quick slant. The offence moved up to the nine yard line of the Speedsters.

"Let's go Speed Dodgers, get that ball into the end zone and shove it in their face!" Amy jumped up excited, "Come on Sonic I know you can do it!"

The offence had trouble on first and 2nd down only picking up four yards. That left them with a 3rd and 6. Many fans within the stands stood with crossed fingers, hoping for six points. Sonic punt faked to Shadow looking over and throwing to Tibeo in the corner of the end zone. The receiver caught the ball but tackled not maintaining possession. The play resulted in an incompletion bringing up 4th down. Sonic and company stepped off the field as the field goal unit trotted on. The ball was kicked straight through the middle, giving the Speed Dodgers a 3 point lead.

"Wow this must be heartbreaking for the SD's. They had such a good drive and only have three points to show for it."

Time progressed throughout the day with back and forth battles taking place in all stadiums aiming for win number one.


Isle Delfino


The game had reached the 4th quarter with only seven minutes remaining. The Ultra Brothers led the Bleach bros 38 to 24.

"Looks like a timeout has been called down on the field by the Ultra Brothers. What the Bleach bros need now is to stop Mario and this offence on 3rd and eight. They need two touchdowns to have a chance to run off with a win."

During the timeout Rosalina and the rest of the defense paid close attention to what the coordinator emphasized. They were to keep everything out in front of them and not let any players on the opposition get behind them whenever their defense returned on field. Both teams returned following the timeout getting in position for this crucial down. Mario dropped back as the pocket collapsed with the pressure getting to him. Mario went down hard sacked for a loss of six yards. Storm the Albatross shook his head disappointed with the result of the play. He walked over to the sideline along with Mario.

"Well looks like it's up to our D to make a stop, I have faith in them." Storm paced over sitting on the bench next to Mario. "Let's pray we close this thing out."

Mario nodded agreeing with Storm looking up at the score board. Storm looked to the left of them at Rosalina who glimpsed back in his direction at a particular individual. He noticed the action several times throughout the game and became obvious she had a crush on Mario. Not wanting to keep it to himself reached over tapping Mario over the shoulder pad.

"I ah just have a quick question? Um is Rosalina like ah, uhm your girl fr.." Storm stopped in mid-sentence. "Just forget it; I'm sure it's nothing."

Mario looked at his teammate a bit worried. Both watched as Waluigi completed a seven yard pass to Kirby. On the next play Waluigi handed off to Vector the croc taken down by Petey Piranha trying to make a cut up the right side.


Cloud Spires


"This has been a great game so far, the Cheetahs lead by just seven with a score of twenty one to twenty eight. But with just under three minutes to play, time is running out on the hammerheads. Both teams still have one timeout remaining, so this game is not over yet."

The Hammerheads lined up at their own 32 ready for what could be the final drive of the game! Jak sent a man in motion taking the direct snap while in shotgun. He looked up field but didn't find much dumping the ball off to the running back. Hammerbro ran straight up the middle picking up fourteen easy yards. The defense played deep zone making it an easy gain. The Hammerheads trotted up to the forty six yard line. Jak received the ball dropping back with the defense bringing a zone blitz. Running to his left he threw the ball over the head of Gloshi who reached out making the catch running up the sideline. The dino dodged one defender before bumping helmets with Wave the Swallow and falling.

"Lucky play, there's no way you guys are getting into the endzone. We're gonna close it out here, send you home packing and crying like babies all the way back to your city." Wave taunted.

Gloshi ignored her returning to the side of his teammates. The offence picked up seventeen yards. The defensive coordinator pulled a few players off to the side infuriated with the coverage on the play. Jak took his offence into hurry up mode, working in the shotgun formation. Stepping forward Jak made an adjustment at the line. The team was forty one yards from a game tying touchdown.

"We came here today to leave an impression, and that's what I'll follow out and do." Jak told.

Dropping back Jak threw a screen pass to Hammerbro only picking up two yards. The 2 minute warning went off at that time. Jak took the opportunity going over to the sideline.

"Now that we're down to the last two minutes, need to burn some time off while trying to score. It's time to start using some of the play action deep set of plays." The head coach said.

"Those chumps actually think they have a chance of tying this game," Wave the Swallow stood on the opposite side of the field conversing with other defenders, "Hah keep dreaming."

After the short time both teams returned onto the field, ready to finish the final minutes of the ball game. Jak dropped back with the ball in hand looking and throwing to Daxter who was immediately tackled picking up five yards. The offence faced a 3rd and three. Jak licked a finger signaling for the ball and getting it. He gunned the ball into the chest of his tight end Horlk on a curl route. The Hammerheads gained another five yards. With the next play went with a play action fake to Hammerbro fooling the defense who tackled him instantly. Jak moved out of the pocket quickly looking up field. He stepped up launching a bullet! Daxter jumped to try and make the catch only to have it tipped and caught! To Everyone's surprise was by Gloshi who came across on a deep post! The dino was tackled after picking up two extra yards. Jak yelled demanding the rest of his offensive players get down to the twelve yard line so he could spike the ball.

"Are you freaking kidding me right now?!" Wave stomped slightly pulling at her own hair.

The completion happened opposite her side of the field. Everyone hurried down getting in their positions as Jak did just that. All that remained on the clock was 45 seconds. Both teams pocketed one timeout each. Most the audiences stood to their feet, the intensity of the game had just doubled! Jak took his offence into a huddle.

"Alright this is it guys, just like what they say its games like this that champs win. We started off being down seven to twenty one, now let's just punch it in and tie this thing." Jak spoke loud getting his players hyped.

The team came out of the huddle with much confidence getting into their positions. Jak dropped back throwing to Daxter who was tackled for a loss of three. On 2nd down and 13 the defense brought heavy pressure up the middle. Jak noticed throwing the ball into the end zone with Walter his 3rd receiver making the catch! The score quieted most the home team's crowd. The kicker came onto the field for the extra point attempt. The snap along with the kick were good, except someone got a hand on it causing it to bounce the opposite direction! Fortunately for the Hammerheads was caught by the kicker who tried running the ball into the end zone. He was denied taken down by a group of defenders, and with only 24 seconds left on the clock the game was over!

"What a series of events, this game is gonna haunt the Hammerheads for weeks to come. Losing by just a single point." A commentator told.


Veldin


Ratchet took a knee ending the game. The Reindeers bested the Golden knights 45 to 35. With the passing of a few minutes all games came to an end. Fortred prepared himself for yet another press conference hopeful the media had changed its view on the event. At the universe wide sports station a set of commentators' recapped the games for the viewers.

"Welcome back everyone, I am here with my associate Kara, and boy has it been a great event so far."

"Yes you are right Victor, we'll begin with the Bloodhounds verse The Lylat Birds. What began as a close game fell apart for one side. We'll take you down to Corneria live."

On one T.V. screen in the studio appeared a sportscaster standing on the sideline.

"Hello to you Kara, Just as you said this game started off close until the injury to Falco Lombardi in the start of the 2nd quarter. He scored the team's three touchdowns connecting with Espio along with Redy the red Yoshi. The final score ended 45 to 17, this was truly a disappointment for the fans and the Lylat Bird organization. What really killed this team today were the five interceptions by Garldo, the backup QB to Falco, two of which were returned back for touchdowns."

The sports caster paused for a second sending footage to the commentators.

"As you can see in this video Wolf O'Donnell walked over to home team's sideline taunting the injured Falco with the closing seconds of the game drawing a flag. The penalty yardage did nothing at that point however. Corneria fans must pray for Lombardi to have a speedy recovery, or this team might find themselves struggling offensively. On another note both defenses played extremely well. It was the offence of the Lylat Birds putting their defense in very unfavorable situations."

"Thanks a lot for the inside, but now we're gonna move to the match up of the Dragons verse the F-zero brutes, which was quite an enjoyable game. The ending score in this one fourteen to twenty with the Dragons taking the victory."

The commentators continued on talking about the different games.


Isle Delfino


While most players headed to the locker room Mario stood on the sideline being interviewed.

"So it must feel good to win, how did your team prepare for this game?"

Mario did not answer right away giving the question thought.

"We 'a focused on basic fundamentals and not beating ourselves. There was no 'a tape to go off concerning our first opponent. But we will be better prepared for our challengers in week two. There will be footage and tape to look over. We must also make corrections to our mistakes." Mario replied.

"In your opinion, who will win the Sunday night match up later? Will it be the Primates or Seals?"

Mario had no knowledge of either team deciding not to respond.


Hyrule


Link laid back bench pressing with the door to his left side opening. Entering was Princess Peach. Link stopped and reached for his shirt but grabbed by the wrist. Peach sat down by his side moving her fingers over his forearm. She wore a white skirt with a blue trim along the edges as well as a sky blue shirt.

"Wow Link you're strong. You ready for the big night tomorrow?" Peach asked.

She took her hands off him, realizing he might be uncomfortable with her actions.

"Yeah I'd say so, all of us might be a little nervous but you, I and definitely everyone else should be ready. Is there something you wanted to ask?"

He knew there had to be something, why else would she randomly enter into the men's workout facility. The princess leaned back a bit putting one leg over the other looking up at Link.

"No not really, but did however want to say thank you for being so kind to me over the past months. I'm not really too accustomed to Hyrule and all so thank you."

"Don't mention it. I try to do the best I can." Link replied.

Peach moved closer to Link putting one hand on the side of his face. She stared into his dark blue eyes as he did the same back. Link did nothing as she rubbed her hand over his face. What she did next scared the hylia, but in a good way! She brought her face close to his pressing her lips against his! It was in that moment wrapped her arms around his neck embracing into a deeper kiss! He couldn't believe what happened or even how to react. Her tongue glided through his mouth twirling around his own. He couldn't help but go along with it, dazed and aroused. He reached over wrapping an arm around her waist. Peach pushed off him almost immediately hearing the sound of footsteps near the door. The princess stood walking a few feet away from Link before turning and looking back at him.

"See you later cutie." Peach said seductively.

She blew him a kiss before exiting the room. The hero of time couldn't believe what he'd just done, wiping her saliva from his mouth. Wasn't Peach Mario's girl?! How could he have done that? But it wasn't his fault, she came on to him! Link tried not to worry about it putting his shirt on. Besides he had a big game coming up against the Mushroom Dashers led by Luigi. Both he and Peach needed to stay focused on the upcoming opponent.

XXX

Fortred stepped onto a podium with a piercing media with many questions and comments. His plan was working thus far. The huge event had the attention of dozens. Questions ranged from the players training sessions to possible production of jerseys purchasable for fans. What was supposed to be a joke too many was turning out to have potential for greatness.

I tend to ignore all the hype about football (Deflategate much?) but that's just my opinion. Any other New Englander would disagree.

Regardless of whatever happened with all that in last year's championship game against the colts, the Patriots are still an incredible team. Them and Denver are the AFC's best but you have others such as the Steelers and Colts outside of this year that are good as well. I'd make an argument even for the Cincinnati Bengals if they could get over their playoff blunders.

Galaxy Ball

CHP7: Primetime battle





The moon stood out over the twilight atmosphere along with bright stars, not a single cloud in sight. So far the event attracted positive attention, maybe Fortred's plan would in fact work. The stadium within Kongo Jungle held over 15,000 spectators within the stands! Only a thousand were home inhabitants of the jungle, while the rest traveled from other planets to witness the late showdown between two division opponents. The crowd grew loud watching as the Primemates entered onto the field led by Donkey Kong.

"Well Matt this should be a good one, there isn't much we can say given this will be our first time seeing either of these two in action. But will say that DK has one heck of an arm for the home team, I've seen him throw Sixty to Eighty yards down field. Him being an ape gives him the advantage of being one of, or if not the QB with the biggest arm in this 16 team league."

"I couldn't agree more Darrel; which is why I'm taking the home team in this game. From what I've heard, The Seals entire offensive scheme is based around a west coast system. We'll just see if that will be enough for them to keep up with the Primemates."

"You definitely have a point there. Crash Bandicoot might have to do a little more than dinking and dumping against this team. Just looking at some footage the other day, the secondary of the Primemates has a few question marks."

The broadcasters within the booth filled in viewers tuning in the advantages and disadvantages of each team. On the field the home team won the coin toss electing to differ which gave them the ball first after the half. So far the game lived up to the hype with many on their feet. Waiting near the goal line was Vince a raptor from port city who caught the kickoff. He cut up to the right side with lots of running room. The space closed quickly, so Vince sprinted to the other side spinning out of one tackle but taken down at the 36 yard line. At that time returning squads for each team exited off the field. Diddy Kong walked over taking a seat next to DK.

"Had no idea I'd be this nervous, why did they put us on primetime. Now billions will be focused on this one game." Diddy told already sweating down the left side of his head.

DK patted Diddy on the shoulder pad a few times trying to comfort him.

"Don't worry once we're on the field won't be so nervous. This team is gonna need you to stay focused, so don't disappoint." Donkey Kong informed.

Diddy stood walking over and filling up his sports cup with some Gatorade. DK looked onto the field watching his defense get into position for the first drive against the Seals. Crash sent a man in motion who ran to the left, receiving the ball and handing off to Funky Kong running straight ahead. He pushed the pile forward for two. On 2nd down Crash took the ball rolling out to his left throwing to his tight end Jimbo, picking up three yards. On 3rd and 5 Crash stepped back into shot gun. He looked over the defense calling an audible. Taking the snap/ball, the bandicoot stood straight in the pocket observing the field. He stepped up throwing a rocket across the middle intended for Skidd Mcmarxx who had the ball knocked away. But a flag was thrown to the ground.

"Pass interference defense twenty five, ball will be placed at spot of the fowl; first down Seals." The official told.

A lot of the audience booed as a result of the play. The ball was moved to the 48 yard line. The offence of the Seals moved to the new position. Crash took the snap quickly dumping the ball off to Funky Kong who was grabbed by the waist taking the defender up the field 11 yards before gang tackled at the 41 of the Primates! Crash headed up to the new position along with his teammates. Crash sent the half back in motion. Taking the snap dropped back throwing underneath to his tightend Flynch who made quick moves picking up another eight before taken down.

"What is this defense I'm seeing, come on now we need to send a good message." Diddy Kong said on the sideline.

Crash took the ball again handing off to Funky Kong who lost his footing trying to gain balance shoving a cleat into the turf. He fell forward for three yards, giving the team yet another first down. Crash again took the snap throwing out to Skidd Mcmarxx who picked up five. On 2nd down Crash dropped back looking toward the end zone but didn't see the defensive end come on a corner blitz sacking him for a loss of seven. Crash was helped up by one of his offensive tackles. On 3rd and 12 Crash worked out of shotgun taking the snap. He moved in the pocket watching as the defense brought heavy pressure. He stepped up throwing a strike in the chest of Skidd Mcmarxx who was tackled after a pickup of only 10. It was at that time the Seals sent out their field goal unit. Crash took off his helmet walking over to the sideline. The snap along with hold were good, and so was the kick. The Seals took a 3 point lead. At that time DK tried to get some of his players ready for their first drive.

"Remember the most important thing for us to do is to go out there and have fun, and at the same time give our home crowd what they came for. Let's go out there and destroy some Seal!" Donkey Kong said trying to bring more energy.

The ball was kicked off to the Primemates and catching it was Ethern the Orangutan who was almost hit immediately not calling for a fair catch. The ball was placed at the nine yard line where Donkey Kong and Co would begin.

"Alright guys let's do what we came here to do; scoring six will win you games not three."

With the first play DK threw incomplete for Willey his slot WR. On 2nd down handed off to Monty Mole, who only gained a yard. On 3rd down went with a play action fake DK rolling out to the left side throwing to Dixie who caught but then dropped the ball!

"Wow you've got to be kidding, the Primemates go three and out with a terrible drop by Dixie Kong." Matt said.

Donkey Kong walked off the field with the rest his offence shaking their heads irritated by the start. The ball again was kicked off to Vince who caught the ball at the 48. He dashed forward into a large crowd trying to break through, and lost the football! He was pushed off to the side with many bodies piling on top of it. The officials came in trying to move everyone to see which team came up with the ball. At the bottom of the pile it was confirmed, the Primates recovered!

"Man what kind of stuff is that Come on D give it right back to us." Flynch complained.

Skidd Mcmarxx slammed his helmet to the side, disgusted with what happened. A few players patted Ethern on the back trying to keep his confidence level up. The Primemates began at their own thirty eight. Donkey Kong came back onto the field with his offence ready to obliterate any memory of the opening drive. On First down received the snap dropping back and throwing incomplete to Diddy Kong. The coverage was great, and would have taken an almost perfect throw to complete. On 2nd down DK faked the hand off to Monty Mole stepping back and buying time. Donkey Kong stepped up launching a rocket down field. Dixie Kong reached out catching the ball at the 16 yard line outrunning the cornerback into the end zone!

"Touchdown Primemates fifty eight yards," A commentator said, "What a catch, and what a satisfying job Dixie did in her route to get that much separation."

The kicker came out kicking the extra point easily, making it a four point game. Crash warmed up on the sideline getting ready for the team's next drive. The ball was kicked off to Vince who called for a fair catch in the end zone. A Few minutes passed before the Seals took the field starting at their own twenty. Crash sent his halfback in motion taking the snap and throwing across the middle to Jerald his 2nd receiver, who picked up eight yards. On 2nd down Crash handed the ball off to Funky Kong who took it to the outside, picking up another fifteen yards. The play put the Seals at their own 43. DK sat on the sideline smiling impressed by the improved speed of Funky Kong compared to what he was accustomed to seeing.

"So far this isn't too bad a match up. I know many love shootouts but sometimes a little smash mouth style football isn't bad." Darrel said.

"Yeah I'd have to agree with you but the strange thing is I expected to see a lot of sloppy football out of the teams who played today seeing as none of them are pros. But watching over some of the different games, I'd say some of these teams are a force to be reckoned with." Matt replied.


Hyrule


Banjo walked around in the hallway looking for Crunch but instead ran into Hena. She was the team's leading cheerleader, and very kind from what he gathered in the time he'd been around her.

"What are you still doing here?" Hena placed a hand on her waist. "Shouldn't you be back at the village resting for the big game tomorrow night?"

"Usually but Crunch, Link and I were gonna go over a few things. But Link couldn't make it for whatever reason, so I'm supposed to be meeting with Crunch."

"Oh come to think of it why don't you check the lounge. If I recall was in there playing cards along with a couple other guys."

Banjo patted Hena on the shoulder heading in that direction. Some distance away Link was accepted into the castle by a guard.

"So what brings you to the castle, if you're here to see Princess Zelda won't be able to speak to you for about another hour? She is in the middle of a meeting concerning the kingdom."

"Actually I'm here to see Princess Peach, you wouldn't happen to know where she is would you?"

The guard snapped a finger getting the attention of a woman who sat at a desk, informing her to come to him.

"Elisa here will be able to show you to her quarters."

Elisa led Link down the hall and to the first set of steps. They traveled a few floors before walking down a hall to a specific room where music played inside.

"She's inside there. Keep your visit short." Elisa said frowning.

Link narrowed his eyes confused why she shot him the grimy expression. He entered the room closing the door behind staggered by the beauty and size of the space. He walked forward peaking his head around the corner to see Peach dancing and faced the opposite direction to him. Link opened his mouth to call for her, but didn't almost hypnotize by the movement of her butt and fast paced body all together! He bit back clearing his throat calling her name. She wore a tight pink skirt with a pink tank top to match. Peach turned around facing Link, almost blushing. She bent down turning off the music box.

"How long have you been standing there?"

"You don't have to worry I just got here." Link said smiling.

"Why don't you have a seat and stay awhile, I promise I won't bite."

Link laughed a little at her remark.

"I can't stay long so let's make this quick," Link looked down at the floor fiddling with the material on his gloves, "Why did you come onto me like that earlier, aren't you and Mario together?"

Before Peach could answer, the entrance to the room opened. A guard walked up placing a hand on the shoulder of Link.

"It's time for you to go. King Boo is waiting for you in the main lobby, it sounds like it's important you better come now."

Link nodded letting him know he was on the way.

"We can talk later princess I should see whatsup."

Link exited the room with the guard. Peach sat at the edge of the bed lying back grinning at the thought of Link jealous of Mario. Which indicated he had a thing for her! It was no secret she was definitely feeling something for him. What could that mean about her relationship with Mario!? She didn't give it much thought just laying back.


Kongo Jungle


Each team endured a couple drives of their own. On first down Crash fumbled the snap but fell atop it. The play brought up a 2nd down and 12. Crash again took the snap looking to his right, but threw to his left as Jerald caught the ball once again gaining nine yards. The play resulted in 3rd down and 3. Crash received the ball dumping to Funky Kong who dodged a few defenders picking up five. On the next play Crash lined up in shotgun with two wide left along with two wide right. Crash took the snap throwing a quick pass having it nearly intercepted! On 2nd down Crash was forced to burn a timeout unable to hear the play called on the sideline because the crowd noise. The Bandicoot walked over to the head coach on the sideline.

"We're gonna run it to the left, so send Skidd in motion to that side to try and help block. We have time for just this one play before the first quarter ends." The head coach explained.

Crash nodded informing him he understood what to do. After the 30 second timeout returned back onto the field with his offence. Crash took the snap handing off to Funky Kong who picked up three yards. With that the first quarter came to an end.

"Well so far it hasn't been too bad; at least we scored on our second drive," DK sits on the sideline beside Willey, "We most definitely need to win this one, especially since it's a division game."

"You're certainly right about that, we'll particularly need it when it comes time for the playoffs!" Willey replied.

Donkey Kong felt his heart rate rise significantly by the words of Willey. It was much too early to be thinking that far ahead, but the idea of the playoffs excited him!

The second quarter started rather slow with both offences struggling. The Seals managed only three points while the Primemates put up nothing, with the first five drives by both teams. The cause of the stalled drives evolved around dropped passes, incorrect routes, along with many miscues. After yet another three and out the Primemates again kicked to the Seals with 5:20 left in the half. That time it was Jerald receiving the ball running forward; he was hit and dropped at the 16.

"So far here in the second quarter has been more a defensive game, just as it has been for much the game."

Crash took the snap looking up and throwing to Skidd who gained five. On 2nd down the ball was handed off to Funky Kong who lost two. On 3rd down Crash faked the hand off to Funky Kong throwing a screen to Urim the halfback. The Seals picked up another eight yards. Crash worked out of shotgun formation taking the snap and throwing a quick slant to Jerald who dropped the ball. With the next play Crash connected with Jerald on a curl route for three. On 3rd down the crowd got loud trying to disrupt the Seal offence, hoping for yet another stop by their defense. The ball was handed to Funky Kong who was wrapped up at the line of scrimmage, taken backwards. He powered out of the grasp taking it to the outside. He stiff armed another defender running out into space down the sideline alone! Nothing but green grass stood in front of his path! The Seal running back took it all the way to the end zone with the closes defender twelve yards behind!

"Touchdown Seals! Wow that was a Sixty nine yard score!" A commentator for the Seals yelled.

On the Primemates sideline was Donkey Kong sitting in disbelief. How was it no one was able to bring him down, especially at the point it looked he was stopped in the backfield. He shook his head watching as the extra point was kicked through putting the Seals up three. The ape knew it was time for business; his team had to answer back to the score. Over on the Seal sideline, Funky Kong got congratulated for his long run. The ball was kicked off to Ethern who got the ball up to the 23 yard line. That was where DK would begin.

"Now let's see if the Primemates can respond to that shocker the Seals just laid on them. This game is far from over."

Donkey Kong took the snap handing off to Monty Mole who went backwards, but managed to get back to the line of scrimmage before taken down. On 2nd down DK threw a quick laser to Kenj picking up seven. With the next play DK stepped back into shotgun formation. He took the snap moving in the pocket a little, not seeing the linebacker rip through the front. Donkey Kong was taken down hard for a loss of nine. Diddy Kong stomped at the turf angered by the protection up front. He felt he had broken free from the corner and could have made a play.

"DK are you ok?" Dixie walked over reaching out and helping him to his feet.

Donkey Kong just nodded putting on a smile.

"We obviously have a lot of work to do on Tuesday's practice," DK walked beside Diddy, "Thank goodness we will have film on our next opponent."

Both players so badly wanted the first win, just as the Seals did. The ball again was kicked to the Seals only to have it bounce out of bounds at the 31. On 1st down the Seals ran the ball picking up just two. On 2nd down Crash took the snap dumping off to Urim gaining another two yards. Crash stepped back into the shotgun looking over the defense and altering the play. He took the snap handing off to Funky Kong who was wrapped up and taken down by two defenders almost instantly. At that time the punt unite was brought out onto the field. The ball was kicked off to the Primemates calling for a fair catch back at their ten. The Primemates ran out the remainder of the clock taking it to the half.

"What we have here tonight in the jungle is no doubt a football game, there isn't much scoring but hey it's still entertaining!"

"There is no doubt about that, I'm sure all viewers tuning in at home are enjoying. For the many watching remember that you can sign into our website and check out scores and stats from each individual game."

Cool Cool Mountain


Luigi sat within the lounge with Fox and a couple others watching the game.

"Man the Seals have missed so many opportunities to score more points, the penalties are killing them." Fox said

Luigi shook his head agreeing.

"Don't know who will win this game, but tomorrow night we're gonna stomp all over the Legends!" One player said.


Kongo Jungle


The score between the two teams sat at 17 Seals 21 Primemates. The ball was at the 32 yard line of the Seals with only 1:03 left to play in the game. The audience were at their loudest watching as the Seals came on for what would be the final drive of the game.

"The Seals can't kick a field goal in this case, they need a touchdown to win and put away the Primemates. They only have two timeouts remaining, so in other words they still have time."

Crash took the snap out of shotgun looking up field for a sideline shot. Crash stepped up throwing into an open zone to Jerald pulling it in for a gain of seventeen yards. Crash ran up with the rest his offence to the line of scrimmage trying to spike the ball. They got it done with 41 remaining. Crash again stepped back into the shotgun taking the snap and hooking up with Skidd for another 17 yards. The officials came in placing the ball at the 29 of the Primemates. Crash burned one of the team's timeouts. After the 30 seconds crash came back onto the field in shotgun. He took the snap pumping stepping up and throwing into the end zone! The ball was intercepted and ran out to the five yard line before the safety was tackled. Crash looked up at the game clock to see only 19 seconds remaining knowing the game was over. The crowds within the stands went crazy some coming out onto the field. Donkey Kong came out onto the field with his offence taking a knee to officially end the game. DK walked over shaking hands with Crash afterward. The players of both teams did the same.

Galaxy Ball

CHP 8: Primetime battle PT2






On the opener of the team competition many squads received victories but just as many fell to a loss. It was just fifteen minutes away before both teams took the field for the conclusive game of the opening weekend. Sitting in a corner alone was Link fiddling with a brass triforce connected to a chain. This would be the opener for the home crowd of Hyrule. There was no way he would allow his team to lose, hopefully all of their hard work through camp would pay off. Picking up his helmet rubbed a finger over the logo of the gold triforce displayed on both sides. He stood walking over and joining the rest of his teammates.

"So do you think you're ready to lead us to a win," The center of the team inquired, "We'll have to be on our A game we know nothing about this team we're about to encounter. I promise you the guys upfront including me will give you all the time in the world."

The words of the goron brought tremendous confidence to Link. All the waiting around was killer. It was felt between numerous players in the room, and hoped their nerves would calm once on the field. The coach went over a few basics making sure everyone was prepared. It was hard for some to concentrate hearing the already deafening crowd awaiting their exit through the tunnel. Soon names of players were announced from the visiting team. Not long after the Legends took to the field, the spectators only added to their confidence. There was nothing like playing in front of a home crowd.

"You seem a bit nervous. You should settle down a bit," Fox Mccloud walked over standing next to Luigi, "I'm sure once we get out there and begin your nerves will die down a bit."

"Sure hope you're right, my brother Mario is a lot better at handling these sorts of situations."

The leading member of the Star Fox team patted him on the back assuring him it would be that way. Moments later both went out for the coin toss, but was the Legends who won electing to receive. Both sides exited off the field as the special team's units came out. The ball was kicked off and the returner brought it out and tackled immediately at the three yard line. Looking to the side Link located his helmet lifting it over his head putting it on tightening the neck strap.

"Well this is it." Link whispered tense.

On the sideline was princess Zelda in the stands accompanied by several guards. In some ways wondered why she agreed to any of the event, it was another obstacle that took away from her duties watching over the kingdom. If anything did relieve stress and was also something the community as a whole could look forward to.

"Man look at the way those girls are shaking it, man this might be the best part of the night!" The wide receiver Relik said, especially eyeing Hena.

"Stay focused, keep your mind on the task at hand. Try not to pay attention to what goes on off the field or their sideline." Daisy informed.

Relik nodded looking away from her and onto the field where Link stood behind the center. The Hylia took a deep breath perceiving the loud crowd. Taking the snap handed off to Crunch who was wrapped up by his ankle losing two yards. That put them at their own 1 yard line. Link stepped into shotgun giving himself a little room to work with. Taking the snap rolled to his right running away from the defenders who closed in out of the back of the end zone for a safety!

"Wow you just can't do that, the rookie from Ordon village is gonna have to learn sometimes it is necessary to just throw the ball away. He was out of the tackle box so the option was there." A commentator said.

The Mushroom Dashers led by 2 and their offence had yet to set foot on the field. The ball was kicked to the Dashers calling for a fair catch at the 49 of the Legends.

"Hey don't worry about it," Crunch patted Link over the shoulder, "We'll put up some points our next drive. These fellas have no idea what we're all about!" The bandicoot cracked his knuckles.

By the looks of it his words didn't help much. That was not how any of them pictured the game beginning. They believed themselves to have the most explosive offence of all teams in the 16 squad league. It sure didn't look that way to start. Out on the field was an excited Luigi ready to lead his team into the end zone with excellent field position.

"Hopefully our D will hold them to just three." Link uttered.

Banjo shook his head hoping that would be the result.

Lined up across from Daisy was none other than Princess Peach and though opponents couldn't help but run over and embrace each other in a hug. She tried desperately to locate her before the game but was unable to do so.

"It's so great to see you Peach, how've you been holding up? I mean being away from your kingdom and surrounded by so many unfamiliar individuals?"

"I've been great, thanks for asking. The people here in Hyrule have been very generous and made friends with lots of them. But it's great you're teammates with Luigi, but tonight I'm gonna have to kick your butts."

Both princess laughed aloud, but the moment was short lived getting into their positions. Taking the snap Luigi threw a screen to Wario who received vast blocking picking up nine before being taken down. On 2nd and 1 ran Wario up the middle picking up 4. Stepping back with the snap Luigi threw a ten yard strike to Fox who crossed through the middle spinning off two defenders picking up six extra yards. The completion put them down at the 20 yard line.

"Right now the Mushroom Dashers seem to be moving easily, the crowds within the stands are definitely quite; a touchdown here and the Dashers could put themselves up by ten if they choose to go for two given the safety." Another commentator said.

Taking the snap Luigi took the ball tossing back to Wario who only got back to the line of scrimmage. On 2nd down Luigi took the snap dropping back and throwing to Lorph the tight end picking up seven. Taking the snap again Luigi looked into the end zone throwing for the corner where Fox waited. But the ball was tipped up by the linebacker and intercepted by Peach! The Hyrule natives within the stands went wild pleased with the great defensive play. But everyone held their breath as there was a flag thrown just before the play.

"False start offence number 84, ten yard penalty repeat 2nd down."

The audiences showed their disapproval and disgust, the penalty gave the ball back to the Dashers at the 23. The penalty was called on Relik the 3rd receiver for being two yards off the line of scrimmage. Replaying 2nd down Luigi handed off to Wario who picked up four. Taking the snap Luigi felt the pressure throwing a quick strike in the chest of Koopa who only picked up seven. The play resulted in 4th down, which brought on the field goal unit.

"Well guess that wasn't a horrible start, I felt as though I was about to break for a big one." Wario said.

He stood at the side of the offensive coordinator watching as the ball was kicked straight down the middle giving them a 5 point lead. The ball again was kicked to the Legends, the returner taken down at the six yard line.

"Wow it's obvious their punter has probably been putting in more time outside of practice." The left tackle for the Legends mumbled.

Leading his offensive squad onto the field Link felt a bit more relaxed. It's not like he could screw things up more than the first drive.

"Let's at least pick up a yard hahaha." A member of the O-line joked.

A few others laughed trying to make some humor of the deficit. With the first play the ball handed off to Crunch breaking a tackle picking up three. Taking the snap Link stepped up throwing into double coverage having the ball knocked down. On 3rd down the Hylia stepped into shotgun. Receiving the snap rolled out to the left buying time. He threw across his body hitting Banjo in stride who traveled up the sideline. The bear was pushed out after a gain of 27!

"Now those are the type of explosive plays we want to see from this team."

The commentators within the booth kept viewers watching in any dimension updated. The Legends relocated to the spot of the ball which sat at the 35 yard line. On 1st came in with a five receiver set with an empty backfield. Running back was Link looking up field throwing and hitting Petiz the tight end on a simple slant. The team gained another 13 yds. Making their way up to the spot the ball was faked to Crunch who was gang tackled almost immediately. Link ran back grabbed by the shoulder pad shrugging off the linebacker stepping up and launching one deep. Up the sideline was Banjo running out with the CB/ Cornerback. Catching the ball over his right shoulder the honey bear ran into the end zone for a touchdown!

"How about that, what a throw by Link he put that ball on the shoulder opposite of the defender perfectly! That play between both the quarterback and receiver looked very professional. The two of them look as if they've been playing for years."

"I'll have to agree with you Leonard, they made it look easy. That is the second deep ball caught by Banjo, he's obviously the team's number one Wide out."

Running down field the Hylia wrapped his arms around Banjo giving him a giant hug for the spectacular completion. All parties except the field goal units took to the field. The extra point was put through easily upping the score 7 to 5. The ball was kicked off to the Mushroom Dashers. Down at the one catching it is Gim. Using his speed and quickness took it up to the twenty five before brought down.

"Mamma Mia, they kinda scored fast. It looks as though we might have ourselves a shootout here." Luigi said nervously.

Arriving back on the field on first down Luigi sent Daisy in motion, which Peach followed never taking her eyes off her. Taking the snap Luigi dumped off to Wario who ran up the middle picking up eight. The Dashers lost two yards on 2nd down. On 3rd down Luigi took the snap taking a few steps up as the pocket collapsed! He tried moving up but was brought down and sacked. Standing to his feet he pulled off his chin strap jogging off the field with the rest of the team. The ball was punted to the Legends who called for a fair catch at their own 37.

"Let's hope our D is better prepared for this series." Luigi hoped.

The last they were on the field only brought more self-reliance for the now poised offence. Link took the snap throwing a screen to Petiz picking up 11. Moving up with another first down Link handed to Crunch running through trucking a few defenders adding another 12. The Offence moved forward once again.

"Goodness Link looks great out there," Princess Peach smirked sitting on the sideline alongside the defensive unit, "He's so charming."

She giggled continuing to watch along with everyone else keeping focused. Link threw the ball away just as the pressure got to him. On 2nd stepped back into shotgun taking the snap looking to the hot read and throwing to Helst his 4th receiver who picked up five. On third down took the snap dropping back escaping the defensive back who came in unblocked. He stepped up throwing deep down the middle! Catching the ball at the five was Banjo who drove forward into the safety pushing them both into the end zone!

"Touchdown Legends!"

Viewers within the stands were at their loudest the entire night. With the extra point put through the Legends scored 14 unanswered.

"Oh dear, we had better do something soon or this might become a blowout." Luigi said.

The left tackle shook his head agreeing with the super Mario brother. The ball was kicked off with a fair catch made back at the 15. That's where the Mushroom Dashers began the drive. Between almost all players the life felt as if it had been drained from them. If anything needed momentum and fast. On 1st down Luigi stepped up throwing toward the left sideline hitting Relik who ran to the middle trying to shake off the corner. He picked up another fifteen before taken down. The play gained 39! The ball sat on the 46 of the Legends.

"That sure was a good individual effort by Relik; and looks determined to turn this game around."

With a new set of downs Luigi took the snap handing off to Wario only gaining two. On 2nd down Luigi stepped back noticing the D was playing zone. He stepped up launching the ball deep down the middle and caught by Fox Mccloud at the 6 yard line! Both the safety and corner smashed into him causing the ball to pop out! The ball came down into the hands of the corner taken down by Lorph at the 17. Sweat ran down the head of Luigi. What in the world was happening, was someone stopping them from scoring?! So much frustration built within him. The audiences cheered with much excitement, at the moment their Legends were handling the Dashers.

"Looks like it's time for us to get to work again." Link said happily placing his helmet over his head.

He led them out onto their own 17 to begin yet another drive hoping it was as successful as the first two.

"Man right now stomping all over this team is easier than taking candy from a baby. Let's dig their grave deeper so they have no way of coming back." Crunch said.

Once on the field the team ran up the middle with the fullback picking up nothing. Taking the snap on 2nd Link stepped back observing the field throwing to Helst who ran a fade route. It was a gain of 13. Getting up to the spot on 1st Link handed off to the fullback who picked up eight. On 2nd the ball was handed to Crunch picking up another 4. Luigi sat on the sideline shaking his head back and forth not happy with how they moved so easily. Picking up another 1st down Link handed off to Crunch who faked to the left taking back to the right. Ripping through the defensive line there was nothing but green grass in front of him! Taking off at full speed down the middle scampered into the end zone spiking the ball for a 58 yard touchdown!

"This has been a nightmare start for the Mushroom Dashers, this game might be over soon if we don't start seeing something out of their D."

All Luigi could do was look down at the turf, it wasn't time to roll over and quit but sure looked as if the defense had done just that.


Isle Delfino


Walking across the shoreline on Sirena beach in a green bathing suit Rosalina enjoyed sunset view over the ocean. The drenched sand beneath her feet was easing because all the routines and practices. It was the team's days off and intended to enjoy it. Looking up near the hotel sat Mario under a palm tree reading something. It was strange he'd be alone figuring he would have been watching the game. The Princess chose to see what he was doing walking that way. Feeling an extra presence the hero of the mushroom kingdom looked up from the laminated paper.

"What are you looking at there?" Rosalina asked with somewhat red cheeks.

He noticed this becoming a bit confused, was there something she wanted to tell him. Why was she blushing?

"It's nothing really, just a few plays I'm 'a going over," Taking a closer look at her his jaw dropped! Her overall shape was staggering and had to be a result from the months of conditioning, she was so gorgeous, "What can I 'a help you with?"

His reply along with facial expression made her giggle. It couldn't be more obvious what she wore caught his attention. Mario gulped when she didn't reply; intensity building around them. Feeling butterflies in his stomach looked away from her and back to the set of plays. It was almost like Princess Toadstool was in his presence. Rosalina bent down resting her knees in the sand pushing the paper off to the side putting a finger to his chin raising his head.

"On a scale of one to ten, how pretty do you think I am?" She asked seductively.

Why did she ask such a question, only children did things in such manner? It didn't help feeling her breath over his lips. He wondered what she tasted like, not even Peach came onto him like that ever? Wait what! Why was he even thinking that way, it was beyond unprofessional. If she was trying to turn him on did a marvelous job! Princess Peach was his only interest and had to end things before something happened.

"Hey Mario why aren't you inside watching the gam..."

Yoshi stopped in mid-sentence seeing Rosalina leaning over almost in the lap of Mario!

"I'm not interrupting something am I?" Yoshi asked wanting to laugh.

Rosalina stood giving Mario some breathing room.

"You're fine Yoshi we're finished here. See you later Mario." Rosalina said making her way down to the beach where a few cheerleaders swam.

Both Yoshi and Mario glanced at one another for a few moments.

"What was that all about?" Yoshi asked.

"Quite honestly your guess is good as mine." Mario replied.

Mario stood following Yoshi into the hotel to see how his brother's Dashers faired.


Lava Refineries


Some time passed and the game in the 4th quarter with the Legends leading 38 to 5. Sitting back on the sofa was the Lombax Ratchet. Nearby was Paratroopa standing to the side watching as well.

"Sucks to be the Mushroom Dashers right about now, or any of the teams who lost in the opener. After this game we had better get some shut eye, because we have to be at the practice facility at 6: A.M. In the morning tomorrow for review." Ratchet informed.

Paratroopa shook his head agreeing, it was no doubt 1-0 felt pretty good. The turtle truly believed the Reindeers could go the whole way, with all their dedication and hard work why not?

"Would either of you like a soda?"

Both looked over at the kitchen entrance spotting Toad leaning against the left side of the wall. Both agreed to his offer. He returned into the kitchen afterward. Looking onto the T.V. Screen Ratchet watched Fox catch a 35 yard touchdown pass from Luigi.

"About time, it's a bit too late now; there's only a minute twenty four left."


Hyrule


The Mushroom Dashers failed on the two point conversion. With close to just a minute left in the game and down 11 to 38 decided not to kick an onside but squib kick instead. Link did not come back into the game; taking his place was the backup QB. The Legends milked the rest of the clock with two runs and a QB knee. At that time players from both teams came out onto the field greeting one another.

"You have one heck of an arm, you're my new idol." Luigi said jokingly to Link who shook hands with him.

"I won't say your team is bad, just have a lot to work on as do we." Link replied.

After saying a few words both headed their separate ways. Luigi found Peach over on the Legends sideline embracing her in a hug.

"It's good to see you Princess, how've you been? You played one heck of a game, do you miss the Mushroom kingdom any?" Luigi asked.

She broke the hug brushing dust off her pads.

"In some ways yes, but overall I'm really enjoying myself. Zelda has been very kind and has made me feel at home, so I'll be just fine."

Exchanging a few more words gave her a final hug returning to the locker room where he and his team prepared to leave on the team space ship returning to Cool cool mountain.

Galaxy Ball

CHP9: Week two battles






A few days passed since the Monday night game and one day before game 2 for most ball clubs. All teams prepared for game two. Fortred along with his team of experts had not yet paid any money to Cosbo. They were given a full year to do so, which was why they stretched it out long as they could. So far the event pulled in more than first expected, but would take a lot more to get them out of the danger zone.

"For those of you tuning in welcome back to the galaxy wide news station, I'm Kenn Divs and at my side is Kara. We'll start today with the new event being hosted by Fortred, and boy has it been good so far."

"Couldn't agree more, some of these teams don't look bad given the circumstances. Three teams that are very impressive one game in are the Blood Hounds, Speed Dodgers, and Legends. The Hounds look like they may possess the best defense in this league comparable with the Dragons, while both the SP Dodgers and Legends hold a lot of offensive power." Kara said.

Big Blue

Silver jogged around in the stadium alone listening to music. It was the team's day off from practice but decided to stop by anyway. Being 0-1 wasn't exactly what he or the team expected, somehow they needed to build momentum and get on a winning course. Going through several more laps came to a stop making his way to the locker room and showering. Once done dried off exiting the locker room but was startled running into a cheerleader just outside the stadium.

"What are you doing here?" Silver asked scratching his head.

"I could ask you the same thing, but think I might have an idea why. Pull yourself together it was just one loss. You should be out with the rest of the guys relaxing."

Silver looked down at her not knowing what to say, how did she know what was on his mind? Regardless of that would rather not talk about it.

"Nice talking, but gotta go."

Before she could reply took off down a hill trying to find a place he could clear his head.


Corneria


Another player had been brought in to improve the team. 6'6 Eloshi Wide receiver from Yoshi's island. He was selected by the team president to help the team amp up its already decent offensive unit. All players were called into the meeting room by the head coach.

"Listen I know we suffered a horrendous loss against the Blood Hounds at home, but need you to keep your heads together and prepare for the Bleach Bros. We'll be heading out to Dreamland for that game. I hope all of you have been watching the tape carefully. I need everyone to rally around Garldo, he'll be the quarterback until Falco is up and ready to go, which should be by the 4th game of the season."

Many rolled their eyes adding on side comments, if Garldo was their answer to the backup QB position were looking at possibly starting 0-4! Getting everyone's attention, Eloshi was introduced to the rest of the team.

"I want you all suited up and out on the practice field ASAP."

The players were dismissed and headed to the locker room except for the new player led into the main office to sign papers. Already out on the field sitting on the sideline alone, the wind blew his feathers off to the side. Looking up into the empty stands for the first time truly realized how massive the stadium was. Anger as well as shame built within him. He let his team down, why didn't he see the middle linebacker coming at his blindside! If only his ankle could heal faster; of course if they were in the playoffs was no way he'd sit.

"Mind if I have a seat next to you?"

Hearing the familiar voice shook his head inviting the individual to sit.

"So is it getting any better, how long until you think you'll be ready to play again?"

Looking her in the face could see the concern for him reflecting. Of all his associates Katt was the only one that ever gave him butterflies. Reflecting on the fact, wasn't a bad thing.

"It gets better day by day, I should be ready soon. Most likely sooner than what the medical staff are saying."

They sat together for a while before the players took to the field, which was when Katt left.


Hyrule


Sitting atop a hill under a tree was Link beside both Hena and Princess Peach watching the sun set over the mountain tops. Not much remained in the basket brought for the picnic, and had been a very enjoyable evening.

"It sure feels good to just relax, all that working out in camp still has me a bit sore." Link said stretching his arms.

Peach nodded feeling similarly. Out in the distance a large group of birds passed by, Link quickly drowning in his thoughts. But what still amazed him was the many galaxies out there. He had no idea there could be so much life outside the planet. The Hylia tried not to think about it much, after all had done so much of that as of late. Being tapped on the shoulder came back to reality.

"So what do your colleague's back in Ordon village think of you taking part in all this? I'd imagine it's a lot for them to take in." Hena asked.

Sitting back out of nowhere a flower landed on the tip of his nose. Both ladies laughed at the expression on his face. He blew it off watching the wind take it away out of sight.

"Honestly I didn't give them all the details, such as the games played away from the stadium here in Hyrule are located in different worlds. Even if I did tell them, most wouldn't believe it. But I've gained a lot of attention because of it."

Peach moved closer to Link resting her head on his shoulder; Hena did the same on his opposite shoulder. Leaning up against the tree the three of them watched as the sun went down.

With the passing of the night another day went by bringing up the 2nd game of the season. It was just moments before kickoff to the starting games.


Venom


The Bloodhounds won the coin toss, but chose to differ. The broadcast for the game was 76 degrees with partly cloudy skies. While the Bloodhounds stood at 1-0 the mushroom Dashers were just the opposite both readied themselves for the showdown. The ball was kicked off to the Dashers, the returner bringing it up to the 34 before forced out of bounds. Stepping onto the field, Luigi readied himself for the opening drive.

"Well let's see what this offence can put together here, last week against the Legends really struggled." A commentator told.

Receiving the snap, Luigi handed off to Wario picking up four yards before being stopped. On 2nd down out of play action Luigi threw a strike to Lorph his Tight end getting them to the 45 of the Bloodhounds. The crowd disapproved with boos.

"Good job up front, keep double teaming Dedede. Good thing we had tape to prepare for this guy." Luigi said.

Taking the snap on first down, the ball was thrown to Fox making the catch and taken down after a gain of six. On 2nd Luigi handed to Wario who ripped through the line but wrapped up by his waste and taken down by King Dedede. There was no gain on the play. On 3rd and 6 Luigi crouched under center taking the snap moving back. Surveying the field, at the corner of his eye Dedede powered past the blockers. Stepping up threw to Relik on a slant only to have the ball go right through his hands. The drop brought up 4th down, which brought on the punting unit as the Mushroom Dashers decided not to try and kick a field goal.

"Well now it's the offence of the Bloodhounds who need to answer the call to the stop by their D."

The ball was punted to the hounds with the returner calling for a fair catch back at the nine. After some moments Wolf O'Donnell picked up his helmet heading out onto the field. Something he noticed instantly was the crowd noise, it was much louder back in Corneria a week ago.

"Blue 40, red strips, red strips." Wolf yelled an audible to the play.

Standing back in shot gun received the snap quickly dumping off to dry bones. Bones picked up eight moving the squad up some. On 2nd down out of play action, Wolf zipped one to Walsh who picked up fifteen. The offence moved to the 32 yard line.

"Twilight, twilight, J sug streaks." Wolf said changing the play at the line.

Taking the snap and ripping through the line was the middle linebacker smashing into Wolf fortunately getting rid of the ball throwing out of bounds.

"You're gonna have to be a lot faster than that. What do you run, a six eight?" Wolf asked trying to get in the head of his opponent.

Stepping back under center looked over the defense deciding to burn the team's first timeout. Jogging over to the sideline moved next to the head coach.

"Sorry I had to get rid of one so quick, their D was showing an entirely new look I've never seen."

The two went over a few things just as he returned to the field afterward. Stepping into shotgun, took the snap throwing a quick strike to Boshi who picked up six tackled on the spot. Hurrying Wolf took the snap moving around in the pocket buying time. Stepping up threw across his body. The ball was caught down at the 22 by his tight end Zerk.

Distance away within his main headquarters Fortred gave another press conference. He talked to the press informing all viewers that some of his most skilled professional teams would appear on the schedules of a select few of the 16 team leagues schedule/games, to test their level of skill. The teams chosen for that were selected at random.


Yoshi's Island


The Hammerheads came out for their 2nd drive down 3 not putting up any starting the game. Taking the snap at the 20 yard line Jak threw a screen pass to Daxtor who picked up seven yards taken down by his ankle.

"Booster zets, chopz, chopz." Jak yelled out.

Taking the snap moved to his right stalling. Stepping up launched one to Gloshi who made the catch at the 46 pulling way up to the 49.

"Good pickup guys, lets continue and finish this time." Jak told.

On first the ball was dumped off to Hammer bro who took it up the left side only gaining three. On 2nd down the ball was handed off to Hammer bro who took it straight up the middle. They were only able to pick up four. On 3rd down Jak faked the handoff to Hammer bro running out to his left. Making a quick decision threw one for Daxtor who couldn't quite pull it in. That brought up fourth down, but the offence didn't step off the field bringing tension to much the audience.

"By the looks of it, the Hammerheads have decided to go for it; a pretty gutsy call if you ask me."

Jak stepped back into shotgun shouting for particular blocks noticing the defensive scheme. The snap was low falling at his feet! He quickly picked up the football moving around observing the field. On the run threw having the ball caught by Gloshi who was stopped and dropped at the 23. The fans cheered showing their enjoyment.

"Finally we're seeming to look sharp, hopefully we'll continue to improve and grow as the season progresses." The offensive coordinator said.

"I'm sure we will, the loss a week ago only brought this group of guys closer together. Losing by 3 or less is always tough to swallow." The head coach replied.

Standing on the 23 of the Golden Knights, Jak took the snap throwing at Walter who caught the ball turning up field and tackled at the 12. Moving up to the spot Jak pulled his team into a huddle.

"They seem to be playing soft coverage, Pbots49 should get us six here. Keep your eyes open, I could be going to any of you."

Getting into their positions Jak took the snap zipping one intended for Daxtor but almost intercepted. The play brought up 3rd down; Jak working under center. Signaling for the snap stepped back somewhat. Throwing to the corner of the end zone Gloshi went up bringing it down for a Hammerhead touchdown! The field goal unit came on for the extra point attempt. The snap hold and kick were good putting the score Hammerheads 7, Golden Knights 3.

"That was a good looking drive the Hammerheads put together, my only concern for them thus far is some of the drops by Daxter and Walter. A few of those cost them a win last week in Cloud Spires. Good thing Gloshi the dino is picking up their slack." A commentator said.

The ball was kicked off to the Golden Knights who didn't have a chance to return the ball seeing as it was kicked out of the back of the end zone. Stepping out onto the field Ike looked over his armband at a certain set of plays. On first down Ike handed off to fly guy who lost 3 yards. Taking the snap he threw to WR Kaed across the middle picking up 17 yards. They moved up to the 34 yard line with a first down.

"Watch for their rotations, they're good at disguising." Ike informed his teammates.

The ball was handed off to shy guy who was taken down losing six. Ike felt sorry for the little guy, wondering why their owner drafted him. It seemed everyone except the man upstairs knew it was a poor decision. Taking the snap on 2nd moved to his right throwing across the middle, caught by Skrunk picking up 13.


Dream Land


Time passed bringing all games near the end of the 3rd quarter. The score stood at 28 Bleach Bros, 0 Lylat birds. On the Sideline the injured Falco exchanged a few words with the offensive coordinator. It's true was unable to play, but decided to fly out with the team. The Birds threatened standing on the eight yard line of the Bleach Bros. Garldo took the snap on 2nd and goal throwing a pass off target intended for Redy the red Yoshi. The incompletion brought up 3rd and goal. Receiving the ball faked the handoff to Tiny Tiger running out to his left throwing across his body having the ball caught/intercepted by the Corner taking it out running the other way. He took it all the way to the twenty on the other side of the field before taken down.

"Yet another bad pass thrown by Garldo, he could have dumped off to Tiny or Knuckles, both were open near the two yard line."

Waluigi Stepped out onto the 20 of the Lylat Birds, receiving the snap and throwing up the left sideline, Frank the iguana pulling it down picking up 11. Moving down to the spot got the play off quickly throwing the ball out to Vector the Croc who got trucked by the new signed Lucario having the ball pop out. Charizard leaped up intercepting the ball running forward knocking over a few offensive players.

"Charizard has room, he cuts back looking for some blocks which are there. Breaking through he's got a hole! He might go all the way!"

Running at top speed traveled down the sideline not ever looking back, the only thing on his mind was to score. Diving into the end zone did just that giving the Lylat Birds their first points of the game.


Hyrule


The 4th quarter had just begun with the score sitting at 45 Legends to 6 Seals. The Legends had the ball at their own 35. On 3rd and seven Link handed off to Crunch who broke through a hole up the middle picking up a surprising 16 yards. They moved up to the 49 of the Seals. Crash sat on the sideline grasping his Gatorade, hoping they wouldn't score yet again. The team seemed almost unstoppable, it was hard to score against them as it was to stop them.

"Blue twenty, seck, seck, flares on three."

Signaling for the ball Link received it faking the handoff to Crunch stepping up in the pocket. He threw a bullet over the middle but couldn't quite hook up with King Boo over throwing him.

"Right there Link again showed his magnificent arm strength; it's funny to see him miss one for a change I thought he was a machine." A commentator said.

Taking the snap on 2nd down Link rolled out giving himself some room. Looking down field stepped up launching one deep into the end zone. Making a sliding catch was none other than Banjo!

"Touchdown Legends you've got to be kidding me! Two home games in a row and looks like they'll be starting 0-2. The Seals are gonna have a long week after this one. Wow Link's 4th touchdown pass of the night."

The kicker came in to make it 52 to 6. Standing over on the sideline something began to cultivate inside Princess Peach. The desire for the hylia, scaring her but in a good way.

After some time all games came to a close leaving only the Sunday night game/ Speedsters vs. Ultra Bros and the Monday Night game/ Speed Dodgers vs. The Reindeers to be played.
