Something interesting I read about this is that this jackpot came right after they changed the odds of winning from 1/175m to 1/292m. The idea was that the higher the jackpot, the more likely people were to enter (even if they were less likely to win.) Also interestingly, with more people who enter, the more likely you'll win along with someone else and have to share the prize, making your payout way less.
