Nintendo Direct Thread (Do NOT post here unless one is announced)

Will be streaming this, Banana Slamma

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is the best announcement in this direct! The Adventures of Elliot is also very interesting.

What I like about Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is how they expand the game. The first game didn't really expand much, though it's still a decent package. With the second game? There's co-op, new bosses (the old ones recycle the ghost robot for three of them), and voice acting! The last one is very surprising because I thought the voice acting in World 3 might have garnered negative reception so they will stay far away from such a decision.

No word on if the arcade games will still make it, though I can tell that the last unlock will definitely never make it (it's Ms. Pac-Man, for those wondering).

Thank you for reading.

that was one of the worst fuckin directs ever lmao

'hey y'all here's a bunch of ports of games you've already played and also multiplatform games that'll run better on other platforms'

total snoozefest tbh

Ditto. I played PvZ 2 but not PvZ 1, and now PvZ 1 releases on my current gaming system. So now the barrier between me and playing PvZ 1 is lower than it was before. And they did make a bespoke cinematic trailer for it. I'm cool with that.

This could be really good, as long as they don't make all of them Switch 2 exclusive. If that New Super Mario Bros pack is true, that would be a blast for me to play on Switch. I have never touched the original or 2, and I have nearly 100% NSMBWii on our Wii. I'd go around again!

It doesn't even feel like it was that long since Air Riders.

Predictions predictions: Uh... you know there hasn't been a Legend of Zelda announcement in a bit. Maybe its that so that the Switch 2 has a unique Legend of Zelda game. If there's Mario Kart World DLC, now's a good time to announce it for the holiday season. Legends Z-A and Champions will probably be somewhere in the direct. Another "Franchise 99" release? (Treat any numbers that are still reasonably high as fitting, even if they aren't exactly "99 players".)

Now that the direct is over, it was good. I mean, the only thing I plan on purchasing is Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a standalone in October, so I can play through all of that. I don't need Galaxy again. The Movie announcement though was crazy. I thought it was going to be based on World, because of Yoshi's appearance at the credits of the first. Crazy. The rest was... okay... to me. I will likely play Tomodachi next year, but for now, that's my likes.

It feels weird to pitch it to viewers directly as "The one based on Galaxy" when the first film wasn't based on any singular game and as I feel like the more Nintendo-ian pitch would have been a new story that happens to involve Galaxy elements (and therefore it would not be called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.)

Why is Yoshi a part of Mario's 40th anniversary when usually it's pointed out those games don't take place in the vicinity of the Mushroom Kingdom? And somehow Donkey Kong is not part of Mario's 40th anniversary despite that Yoshi is?

Getting a tease at what appears to be a major amiibo line in a world post Amiibo Festival is kind of crazy. I guess Sakurai just has that magic touch when it comes to making unlikely things happen. And of all things its for Kirby. (Still, I would have preferred having a Star Allies amiibo line.) I sure hope they don't pull a fast one and issue different colored Kirbies that have different Machines so that I have to buy a bunch of recolors to complete the set.

The first movie isn't based on a specific game, though it mainly includes elements from the OG games. I think for the second one, they want to focus it toward a specific direction and the natural next step was Galaxy because 1, there was a Lumalee in the first movie, and 2, there was a Yoshi egg in a post-credit scene. Both of these elements are from Galaxy 1 and 2 respectively.

Honestly, all I want is Luigi to have a much bigger role in the sequel!
