Low quality images?

All the images when scaled down are of really bad quality.

Duh, they're freaking thumbnails; all images lose quality when they scale down

It seems like your display is set up like the average smartphone; a small screen with a high pixel-density. Everything will be enlarged with a factor of 1,5 in your case, which might give the impression of poor quality images, while in reality your screen is better than the images.

This effect is also seen on the iPad 3+, just with a factor of 2 instead of 1,5.

That's not what his problem is. Look up close to his screenshot.

I have no idea what device he's using

And i still don't know why he's concerned about image quality of thumbnails :P

...Because said image quality is what someone is going to see while reading an article?

Yeah but I understand that it'll be lower quality when I'm reading articles on a mobile device

It would really help if the OP provided what device he was using.

He seems to be using Windows 8, so probably a tablet of sorts.
no way it's a desktop

how do i fix it
1. Rightclick an empty spot on the desktop
2. Click Personalize
3. Click Display on the bottom-left of the window
4. Set the slider to 100%, or hit the radio button labeled 100%, whichever is present.
