There really is not reason to go to church if you are athiest or you have different beliefs. It's almost like going to college even though you plan to do absolutely nothing with your life. Like sure, some people might look at you in a positive way from seeing you doing so (that is, if they don't know you are athiest or something else), but if your reason for going there doesn't match the reason it even exists, it really is irrelevant to you.

If you are just trying to learn about Christianity, just take up a history class. Get a bible and read the scriptures. However. even then, I don't see the relevance in doing so since the stuff in the Bible isn't worth reading unless you actually believe in what it says.

Like sure, there is some interesting stuff in the Bible. However, it won't really teach you anything if you don't believe in what the words are saying.

For Christians, the bible helps enlighten them spiritualy. It teaches them more and reminds them of how God is with them and is the almighty and the supernatural. It helps them be more aware of the workings and miracles of God and the wiles and trickery of Satan.

I went to a Catholic Primary School where it was compulsory to go to church every week during school time. I go to a Catholic High School where it isn't compulsory to go to church any longer, but we do have two lessons where we do no work religion classes a week.

Also, he just asked why people hate church and I answered it with my experience. I know you typed all that up trying to explain that I shouldn't go if I don't want to but you're assuming that I had a choice in the matter.
