This is a slippery slope fallacy and I won't respond to that. What I do is that auto cars will probably come with manual override for emergencies.
 
Also another reason why I believe humans will never be banned from driving vehicles is that don't forget about off-road driving where in that situation it is completely up to the driver's own freewill of where they want to go and what course of action they want to take at the moment.

That's not what I was suggesting. I was suggesting that it takes away a person's freedom of choice of driving the vehicle or putting it on auto-drive.

Off-road driving? How many people you see drive off-road? Again, that's where manual interference comes in.

Why would anyone want to tediously drive a vehicle when an automatic option is preferred?

Also, it doesn't matter how many people actually drive off-road, it's the fact that people do drive off-road as a hobby.

And Baby Luigi, I advise you to read the entire discussion before saying stuff. I did not say that humans should be banned from driving vehicles, nobody stated that as their position, it was simply a question that somebody asked.

Actually, yes I have, but only a little bit since I was just getting used to how a vehicle works so all I drove was on the parking lot and I have yet to own a driver's lisence. Yes, I have plenty of experience with drivers who tend to get their attentions diverted (coughmymomcough), so making cars driverless certainly helps solve the problem. I have a short attention span too-I have no idea how I can keep my attention on the road for long periods of time.

Well, I'm sure that auto-cars will come with manual overdrive. Just like planes.
 
so you really don't understand how enjoyable it can be to drive, then

i thought so. you talk about driving as such a tedious task when it takes little to no effort once you're used to it, and it's quite enjoyable to speed down the highway with your windows rolled down. it's also enjoyable sometimes to just drive around aimlessly, trying to just discover what's around.

i could go on about the benefits of driving myself around, but i'm not sure you'd understand because all you've driven is in a parking lot. which is a good way to start, but definitely shouldn't be used to base your opinions of driving on.
 
yes, I want to drive for the sense of freedom, but most of my opinions of it come from my constantly complaining and aging parents. I'm also worried I might get distracted: I get distracted and lost in thought even when I'm playing Mario Kart.
