Dude, "Super Mario 128" wasn't changed into Pikmin, I don't think it ever got far enough to be changed into anything. Features planned for the concept known as "Super Mario 128" have found their way into many games, it's just that the most notable are Pikmin and Super Mario Galaxy.

Yeah. The whole "antigravity" concept was even seen in Twilight Princess. (Iron boots at Goron Mines)
