Some people even prefer to say "more little", instead of "less".
 
To expand on Cirdec's answer, since he was the only one actually providing a helpful answer; the comparative form of adjectives with two or less syllables is usually attained by adding "-er" to the word. The comparative for adjectives with three or more syllables uses "more" preceding the adjective. By saying "more shorter" you are employing both forms, which is incorrect, as only the proper one should be used.
 
Just say "shorter"
