Besides the unnecessary Call of Duty game, I'm expecting to at least see Half-Life 2, Goldeneye 007, and Metroid Prime in the top 20. Perhaps even Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3.

I was expecting a reasonable list, since good was automatically out of the question, especially regarding the older, more classic games.
 
@Call of Duty: You guys do realize this is the single biggest video game franchise out today, right? Like it or not (and I very much don't like it, since the first Modern Warfare was really the only truly amazing work of art in the series), it's going to be very high on one of these lists.
 
madden is above so many great games

i really do not have my hopes up for the top 20 or so

Well, that's a wrap! Irritated that a Call of Duty game made it that high, but at least it's only one. Agreeing with Packy on this one that no Cave Story or Fire Emblem game made the cut. But oh man, this is such a pleasant surprise for me. Not only is a MARIO game number one, but 2 Mario games and 3 Zelda games made the top 20. This is certainly the best part of the countdown, hands down, without further question.
 
No Spyro 2. Of course I expected that, but I would have freaked out if it was on it. Ocarina of Time should have been higher. Plus some of these Atari/Android games and such shouldn't have even made it. Some PC ones too.
 
No Mother 3 or earthbound.

that's a bad thing but at least Super Mario Bros got 1st.
 
Dude this list sucks they never gave a criteria or who decided what should be on the list I mean seriously Words With Friends and Angry Birds on a list of greatest games ever ridiculous, also Super Galaxy 2 despite being one of the highest rated games of all time (and appearing in there commercials) isn't on this list.
 
SMB number 1? nice. also glad A Link to the Past, Zelda, SMB3, OoT, DK, Uncharted 2, and Portal got that high. this list definitely did kinda suck, but at least it ended on a high note.

I have to agree with this post. I said this to Nic: "Where is Super Mario World?" And what's with the lack of Fire Emblem, Cave Story, and Earthbound? What about PC games like Super Meat Boy, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life 2?

The game I'm most pleased with with being so high is Goldeneye 007.

Even tho they picked the single greatest CoD game ever made to be in the top 20, and it damn well deserves to be in that spot? Stop being such a fanboy/hater.

Incidentally, BioShock at number 3 is pleasing to me.

Yeah I was really confused by that. They showed it in the commercials and it never appeared. Odd.

I was really shocked at no TF2 as well, and no Super Mario World. Super Meat Boy and Fire Emblem I can somewhat understand though.
 
Maybe the final 20 would look good if all the ones before them hadn't shown that this list is mostly a bunch of baloney.
