I'm guessing it has something to do with Nintendo sucking at business in general during the mid to late 90s, such as their failed partnerships with Sony and Philips, the constant delays of both the Nintendo 64 and its Disk Drive attachment you mentioned, the failure of the Virtual Boy you also mentioned, and so on.The N6DD didn't seem so bad. Why did it fail so hard? Sure, it was worse than the Wii U but it was better than the Virtual Boy.
One day, it'll be 400.... (hi people from the future reading this). This thread is about 13 years old.
I think if Nintendo had better business practices at the time, the 64 DD might've lasted longer and have left Japan.I'm guessing it has something to do with Nintendo sucking at business in general during the mid to late 90s, such as their failed partnerships with Sony and Philips, the constant delays of both the Nintendo 64 and its Disk Drive attachment you mentioned, the failure of the Virtual Boy you also mentioned, and so on.
That, and maybe the Virtual Boy wouldn't have been such a disaster.I think if Nintendo had better business practices at the time, the 64 DD might've lasted longer and have left Japan.
It is a good track. I also think GCN Daisy Cruiser is a great track from that game.Double Dash's Sherbet Land is a great track.

I'm not the biggest fan of Mario Kart 64 tbh but I like the MK8DX remakes of it's tracks, particularly Royal Raceway.I completed the game yesterday and thought it was better than MK64 in most things lol.
You had me at "diehard Luigi fan".As a diehard Luigi fan, I'm looking forward to playing Galaxy as Luigi after beating it as Mario.
Idk man, saying that about Mario Kart Wii is very misleading.Funky Kong is somewhat overrated to be honest. Don't get me wrong, his appearances in DKC series is fine but in Mario Kart Wii has other characters with same stats and in 8 Deluxe his stats aren't even that great.
SMG2: Touch the pedal. Okay, now, all the galaxies in a world have been artificially spread across multiple screens, so you're gonna have to navigate around the map until the one you want is actually in view. Then you can point and click your choice to move there a bit more quickly. Ah, but that doesn't pull up the confirmation menu anymore, because you could have been clicking it just to pan the camera over, so now you have to press A again to actually—oh, but you were accidentally hovering the pointer over another node, so now Starship Mario is veering off somewhere else instead. Ugh. Okay, wait for it to stop. Move it back to where you wanted to go. Then either point offscreen, or manually point and click the node you're already on for the second time in a row. Confirm "Fly to This Galaxy". Wait for the Prankster Comet alarm screen, which they still don't let you skip, even in the postgame where you're sitting through it for like the fifth time this galaxy. Choose a mission. If you're using the new button controls to navigate that menu, it defaults you to the first mission instead of the first uncleared mission, so it might take a few stick taps to get there. Watch the mission intro cutscene, which in the postgame is now unskippable for like the fifth time this galaxy because you're technically on a new mission even though it calls up the same scenario and the same cutscene data as all the other missions, goddammit Nintendo. Watch Mario fly in, which, of course, will be just as unskippable as the preceding cutscene. Good lord. Okay, maybe you can at least use the Grand World Map to quickly jump into any galaxy? Nope, those icons are unclickable! You still have to zoom into the world and go there manually for no reason—it's the same as making Mario walk between Domes in the first game!!
If you're talking about the Green Star missions, you can skip both the intro cutscenes and the Mario flying cutscenes for those, even if it's the first time you play them. (In the Switch version; can't remember the Wii version.)Watch the mission intro cutscene, which in the postgame is now unskippable for like the fifth time this galaxy because you're technically on a new mission even though it calls up the same scenario and the same cutscene data as all the other missions, goddammit Nintendo. Agreed, and Mario Wonder still has a similar, "select level from a menu" function even without a second touchscreen.SM3DL: Move to your choice (or tap the touchscreen to go directly there from offscreen). Confirm.
You have to physically move between domes as Mario before all this.SMG1: Click the Pull Star. Click your choice. Confirm "Fly to This Galaxy". Wait for the Prankster Comet alarm screen. Choose a mission. (A bit annoying how you can't use button controls to navigate these menus…) Watch the mission intro cutscene. Watch Mario fly in.
I agree with you. I love both Nintendo and Disney equally so there's no problems!I like that there's a Mario movie and an amusement park. The other day I saw a video of a guy saying it was a bad thing because Nintendo was being like Disney for doing this, but I don't see a problem.
Can't be worse than the time Disney did a Mario movie in the 90s.I like that there's a Mario movie and an amusement park. The other day I saw a video of a guy saying it was a bad thing because Nintendo was being like Disney for doing this, but I don't see a problem.
Let's not talk about that because that's awful, I will never forget the day that they made that movie. That also introduced me to the awful song *Shudders* "walk the dinosaur"Can't be worse than the time Disney did a Mario movie in the 90s.
I think pretty much everyone involved with the movie also wants to forget they ever had anything to do with it. I know that Bob Hoskins and Dennis Hopper, who portrayed Mario and Bowser/President Koopa tried to do so until they both moved on to The Overthere.Let's not talk about that because that's awful, I will never forget the day that they made that movie. I didn't realize Disney did it!Can't be worse than the time Disney did a Mario movie in the 90s.
I didn't realize Disney was behind it either until someone pointed it out to me one day.I didn't realize Disney did it!
