Ghosts...don't...die! Heh heh heh! Can you get out of here...ALIVE?

The film opens with the opening credits playing the music as "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)".

In Brooklyn, Princess Toadstool (Jeannie Elias), Luigi (Danny Wells) and Mario (Lou Albano) are lonely fare inviters. They have a secret crush on a handsome commuter named Toad (John Stocker), although they are complete strangers. At the Brooklyn Train Station, they rescue him from an oncoming train after a mugger pushes him onto the tracks. He falls into a coma, and they accompany him to the hospital, where a nurse (Mouser (John Stocker)) overhears them musing aloud, "They were going to marry him." Misinterpreting them, the nurse tells the Koopa Troop family that Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad are his fiancée. The Princess and Toad put on "Dora Super Silly Fiesta" party hats and Mario and Luigi hold noisemakers, confetti, and balloons.

At first they are too caught up in the panic to explain the truth. They wind up keeping the secret for a number of reasons: they are embarrassed, Princess Toadstool's brother King Koopa (Harvey Atkin) has a heart condition, and Mario, Luigi, Princess and Toad quickly come to love being a part of Koopa's big and loving family, the "Koopa Troop". One night, Party Koopa, King Koopa, Mouser, Princess, Mario, Toad and Luigi drive on the Fiesta Car, going to the Super Silly Fiesta to invite.

With no cake, the Mario Gang becomes so captivated with the quirky Goombas and their unconditional love for them that the Koopas are suspicious of them at first, but they, the Goombas, Mouser and Toad fall in love with Mario, Luigi and Toadstool as they spend time altogether. They develop a close friendship and soon they fall in love with them as well.

After Night, and at Day, the Koopa Troop wakes up. The Mario Gang, and The Koopa Troop, including the Goombas, invite the fiesta with cake, a plate, and food tools for everybody.

In the last scenes of the film, they kiss after eating cake. The Mario Gang narrates that Party Koopa fulfilled his dream of going to Mexico, and explains that, when Mouser asked when Toad fell in love with Mario, Luigi, and Princess, they replied, "it was the Super Silly Fiesta." Toad and Princess Toadstool laugh and make silly faces as the ending credits roll.

<Shamaleon34>: If Rosalina has covered her right eye ever since she was a baby, I want to know something. Is it special? Magical? Scary?
<Rosalina>: Kevin, the common cold. Kevin! Kevin! Kevin! Kevin!

What was that intended for anyway?
