But seriously, yeah, you will get to call some decisions. All final decisions are left up to the author who you must worship and adore, though.

That's what I love about being an author. You're like a god. I once wrote a FanFic (a horrible one, though) in which I created a character that was a messenger for me. And anytime I felt like making a decision, he would come down from the heavens, be like, "Okay, Nabber wants this to happen for no particular reason," and BAM! It would happen.
